So I've been playing a bit of Star Trek Online.
It is a bit addictive, so much so that I'm willing to forgive the missions that crop up again and again (which is what inspired the title of this post).
There isn't much that sets it apart from other MMOs, in fact it plays pretty much like City of Heroes. But hey, it's free to play, so why not enjoy it?
I actually bought a lifetime subscription to this game when it first came out...ever make those choices in life you regret forever...
But to be fair, it's not a bad game, but it is repetitive and fairly bland. And they keep adding more shit to it without making it better. So now it's a very obtuse and obese monster of confusing options in a bland and sterile world of mediocre gameplay.
I play STO and I enjoy it personally. While it IS frustrating to see wasted updates, I feel that it really brings out the feel of the Star Trek universe. When I play STO, I'm not just playing a repetitive MMO, I'm Captaining a Starship through a repetitive MMO
also just because discussing Star Trek
Starship part: 10/10. Upgradeable ships, great pvp, lots and lots of customization
Ground missions: 4/10. Awkward animations, personal shields (wtf?), bad responsivenesssss
A damn shame that the Klingon Defense Force was so underdeveloped.
Wish I could say I was enthused about the PvP but um, nope. I'm more into the Fleet Actions and STFs.
