Played all the titans except advent rebel, I have to say, although in early levels the vasari loyalist titan pretty much blows, maw more than makes up for it. Went in against a Vasari fleet with my TEC rebel titan and after a few minutes of fighting, realized I was virtually alone. The vasari titan just sucked up most my fleet (didn't have capitol ships with me). When I use it late game, it has to be the most fun of all titans, jumping into the middle of a fleet and sucking up support ships. Wish it did more damage to cap ships and other titans, but can't have everything.
Most boring titan has to be ankhlyon. good protector, but not too exciting to play.
Coronata titan also a little boring, but pretty cool. Had a 45 minute battle against a tec loyalist fleet. I couldn't hardly kill their ships, but every time one of mine died I stole one of theirs. Attrition wore them down, by the end at least half my fleet was tec ships. pretty cool.
Tec rebel titan, great fun, most powerful in direct combat, feels unstoppable,
Vasari rebel titan is okay, not a fan of the looks, but pretty powerful, probably middle of the pack as far as fun goes.
What are other peoples thoughts? (yes, I'm just bored)
I'd say the titan that is the most fun to play is the ragnorov. Anti-fleet, anti-starbase. Keep it with a dunov or two to keep its shields up and the enemy antimatter dry.
Advent Rebel. Because I'm biased and love fleet synergies. Never actually get to use its ultimate though...
Otherwise, yeah the Ragnarov is a blast. Definitely deserves to be the box ship. Vasari Rebel titan is also fun even if the faction is OP, drain all your opponents frigate dry, then freeze them in place.
Orky
For me ragnorov best fits "titan" description and also is most fun.
Ragnarov or Eradica, not sure which i like better.
Raganrov is a gun with an engine and a bunch of smaller guns that make short work of the enemy. It simply outputs alot of damage, nothing special about it. Bonus points for "Expand and Exterminate!"
Eradica outputs a lot of damage too, if not as wide area as Raganrov. and has a powerful AoE attack. Additionally it gets stronger when ships near it die. Haven't used the other two abilities of it, but even just those two make it a serious threath. And it looks pretty too
"I put the 'laughter' in 'slaughter'!"
Nuff´ said.
For destroying high priority targets fast Ragnorov is definitely the most satisfying as you do 7.5/5k snipes left and right and watch them drop. For fleet wide engagements Kultorask is disgustingly overpowered right now IMO. The AOE DPS and Leech abilities are second to none, and really like mobile Orky's are showing how badly we need balancing.
Agreed
For "fun", I think its hard to beat the Ragnarov. It's like having your very own death ray!
For "least fun", I'm going with the Coronata. It's too passive, with subjudicating assault basically amounting to "wade in and hope it procs" along with a passive. Not fun at all IMO (though Suppression Aura is really good).
Ragnarov. Who doesn't love a big gun (that plays this game)?
Yeah! I always prefer BBs rather than CVs.
Hope I am not the only one who thinks this but I am in love with Advent, and before the beta came out from watching previews etc i thought that i was going to be an Advent Rebel but oh no I'm in love with the Coronata! Suppression Aura is very deadly especially when a few levels are put into it, and oh unity mass is epic! Imagine you are a pilot in a ship and you see the Coronata approaching and the halo glowing, so epic in imho! I do hope that the devs consider looking into this titan once more however esp the thread posted by Bilun that would make this titan even more epic!
Unity Mass is just a weaker version of the Ragnarov's Snipe, though (with an annoying sound effect). And while Suppression Aura is definitely a great ability, I don't know anyone has ever called a passive aura "fun".
Perhaps not the most fun, but i think most people underestimate the effectiveness of the Coronata. Level 4 suppression aura is a hell of a thing. I set my fleets to close formations, thus the suppression aura often encompasses the entire enemy fleet. When your entire enemy fleet's damage is reduced by 40%, you really can't lose.
That being said, the Ragnarov is still probably the most fun titan, second being the Eradica. I find the Ankylon to be pretty bland, and both Vasari titans to be lacking any oomph. The Vasari loyalist titan really needs to do away with that passive ability (i can't even remember the name) in favor of a weapon-based special ability, at least in my opinion.
^^^This =] also when you have guardians you can keep the enemy in the aura whilst they are slowly converted or destroyed with unity mass and that is what makes it fun well for me anyway =]
I'd say the Ragnarov is the most immediate fun. If you get it out quick enough it's a one-man army and looks damn cool doing it. It makes me think of the Consortium capital ships in Empire at War, which is a game I'd play more often if it had more RTS space map depth to it like Sins does. The Ragnarov is an appealing design and quite a tough ship. However, the Vasari Loyalist titan (don't recall the name) is more fun as soon as you get access to The Maw. It takes forever to get that ability working if you get there at all, but once it's ready using it in conjunction with micro-jumps makes micro-managing the ship enticing.
Ankylon Titan, if only because it sounds like Nappa.
Yes, just dump the Desperation in favor of some planet eating and the titan will be the best thing since sliced bread.
I like the vasari loyalist titan. Think you got me think again! Micro jump! Hey is that a frigate and cruiser heavy fleet you got there, microjump and eat them. Pirates causing issues go to their home base, wait till a majority of their ships are attacking your titan, and then eat them. Stuck at an enemy world and out numbered, drop a phase gate call in a support fleet, micro jump to the edge of the grav well and escape while enemy deals with mopping up. *trololololol*
Second best is the Tec rebel titan, third VR titan fourth Tec loyalist *pain to kill* fith advent loyalist *mind control your fleet and planets*, sixth advent reb titan. Chaos beam.....
My favorite is the Advent Rebel Titan.
I just can't resist it.
Once I led her into a pirate base, and what followed was a music video montage of destruction. You know what I loved about it? Everything. She just gave them the robot stare while their frigates charged in. Explosions sprinkled around the arc of her range, and her shield bar scarcely flinched. She sank them all, nano-gobbled up their remains and caught up on the last two episodes of America's Got Talent. While she was busy doing that, I jumped through an exploding brick wall and played a KISS song, impressing women everywhere.
That's how good the Advent Rebel Titan is.
Ragnarov.
Make things go boom.
I have to agree. Its an ability with so much potential wasted. They need to leave the base dmg as it is, but buff the "dmg per ship in the area" part so that if its alone, it does little dmg, but if it has a big fleet with it, it can do more dmg than the ragnarov snipe. As it is, it never rivals the dmg of snipe and that seems not right to me. Given its shorter range, it should rival snipe with a fairly small fleet
And P.S. the opening cinematic is a lie when it come to the cornata. Unless the Reb titan in that situation had almost no health, a one shot to push it to its lvl 6 death ability is impossible with no other ships around...
Most fun for me would be the Ragnarov. Even with no abilities for it that thing just screams predator. It kills everything quick regardless of what abilities you give it and it looks awesome doing it.
For me it would also be the Ragnarov. Just because I love the shotgun ability.
The Ragnarov is the most fun in terms of evil laughs generated as you fly it around.
