Seems this is an age old problem... I already have an elevated support ticket with SD. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and running WindowFX 5 which I just installed about an hour ago. Every time I have to reboot/shut down my pc explorer crashes with this error:
"The instruction at 0x69016fd0 referenced memory at 0x69016fd0. The memory could not be written."
Is anybody else experiencing anything like that?
Edit: My apologies, I'll post this in the feedback thread. Could a moderator please delete this thread? Thank you.
I have the same problem on the same maschine running like you
Bonjour.
j'ai le même problème
quels sont les solutions?
merci
good evening
I have a same problem !
do you have a solution ?
thank you
No solution so far, you should submit support tickets to Stardock, if this is not an isolated incident then it's probably not limited to certain hardware configurations. Hopefully they can identify the problem and get it fixed...
I have the same problem Windows 7 64-bit - Dutch language - and running WindowFX 5.
With version 4 no problem.
If everyone in this thread can contact support@stardock.com we have some data collection tools that we need you to run to find the source of the issue.
Thanks!
tengo el mismo problema, y las animaciones de los menus no funcionan algunas veces, el windows 7 esta en ingles
some problem sometimes, and animations menus don't work sometimes, and my windows 7 is in english
I get it too.
Windows 7 Ult x64
Do you mean animations on menus do not work always, or the start menu animations do not work always, or all animations do not work always?
Some menus are not really menus and as such will not animate.
other running programs at shutdown would include....(all latest release versions)
Displayfusion
Dropbox
Logitech Webcam software
Logitech Setpoint
Realtek HD Audio
MS Security Essentials
Mouse Without Borders
Had this problem with the WFX 5 betas.
Was hoping it would be fixed in the final version,
Error on every shutdown on Win7 x64. Maybe too exotic an operating system for thorough testing during years of development??
ebeneezergeezer: Did you contact support regarding the issue you had with the betas?
It appears to be a timing issue related to the order in which processes are being shutdown. Unfortunately we have been unable to reproduce it on even a single machine.
I contacted support now.
The betas I simply uninstalled.
Fortunately you have 8 machines in this thread on which the error was reproduced
Yes. Windows 7 x64
Coretemp
Rainmeter
Skydrive
Dopus
Virual Clonedrive
Intel Rapid Storage
Smartdefrag 2
Is there a way for us to manually set WindowFX at the top/bottom of the shutdown sequence in Windows 7?
I don't think it would make a difference. The beta versions even crashed explorer.exe when switching off WindowFX, not only when shutting down.
There must be a problem with WindowFX not properly releasing its hook on explorer on x64. As far as I've seen this happens on 64 bit Windows..
Same thing happening to me as well and it's June.....this REALLY needs to be fixed!!
Have you contacted support?
Me too. I just submitted a ticket. Strange thing is, this only happens on my wife's user account. My account and the guest account work fine. Weird. (My wife's account is also the least tinkered with.)
Support have a test build that they should be handing out to people thats been updated this week so hopefully this will help the problem you are encountering. Once we are happy that the issue is sorted we will update the main build.
I was given a dll. So far so good, Neil.
I have the same problem, runnning windows 7x64.
It's so annoying that i have stopped using FX 5
Have you contacted support@stardock.com yet?
Uninstalled WindowFX and withdrew my support ticket. I feel tricked into beta testing software.
"Have you contacted support" is the automated answer to every post here, it seems. But this is not a petition, which a certain amount of people has to subscribe to.
I recommend not looking into people's systems, but into the code of the software.
Tons of people on Win 7 x64 have the issue.
Only the software developers cannot reproduce it. Go figure.
