Anyone not agree that Sins could use some better voice over? Every unit you click on its always the same voice from the same actor who tries to mimick an alien or psychic voice. It kind of bugs me so much that I just had to post this and ask everyones opinion. I love everything else about the game but get some better voiceover please! Here is what I would like to see the voiceover be.
Voice suggestions:
Tec- From Halo: Sergeant Johnson and masterchief. From Starcraft: Terran Marine and Marauder. The badass soldier type of voice.
Advent- Hmm...not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?
Vasari- From starcraft: Zealot and Archon. From Halo: The Arbiter and elites. That soothy outer space alien voice we all know and love.
I know I recommended just from Halo and starcraft but the voice acting for these 2 sci-fi games was fantastic! I dont know who the actual actors were that did these voices as I didnt bother to check but I for one would love to hear these epic voice actors play a role in sins.
Halo and Starcraft can afford to spend a bit more on voice actors I think... especially since campaigns are a big part of both of those games.
The voices in any RTS game is going to sound repetitive no matter how good they are because they get repeated a lot. Some of the Rebellion voices certainly are a bit more annoying that the original ones but I don't think they're bad.
Yeah I dont disagree that they all sound repetitive. But they atleast give you the feeling that your controlling this cool and badass unit and that your going to wreck someones face with it. That atleast is what I like to feel and it just doesnt feel like they are doing enough in that area. Also it just sounds...too repetitive for my liking. But that aint going to stop me from playing the game atleast.
Oddly, I found the voice acting for the TEC and the Advent to be top notch compared to other games (particularly the voice acting and script in Starcraft II).
To me, the Advent voices represent a chilling combination of enlightened child and serene, iron-willed adult; they also get bonus points because they're not at all coy or hypersexualized, like women in other video games so often are.
Likewise: to me, the TEC voice actors for the Sova, the Akkan, the Kol, the Dunov, the Kodiak, the Protev, and (post-Diplomacy) the Cobalt all conveyed a sense of calm, rank-and-file citizen soldiers who would be right at home as competent officers in any space opera (whereas the Cielo's voice is just AWESOME -- "I've. Been. Thinking."). I have some issues with the Marza, the Percheron, the Garda, and the Ogrov: to put it mildly, they seem to be chewing the scenery a bit.
I'm ambivalent about the Vasari. To be honest, the Protoss voices from the original Starcraft, richly laden with harmonics throughout the audio spectrum, strike me as having some of the highest production values in video game history in the field of alien voices, and I rather wish the Vasari followed their example (as opposed to sounding like they've been gargling bile).
Likewise, the Beast voice from Homeworld Cataclysm is an excellent example of an alien voice with high production values, given its odd but consistent syntax ("Kuun-Lan parts! We want beacon brain! Give us data, or we take data with your parts!"), the way it seamlessly alternated between a male and a female voice, and the manner in which it was overlayed with beastial growls around the consonants and vowels. Superb.
I personally love the voices.
The KOL voice sounds obedient and loyal, a commander you can depend on and will fight and die for what he know's is right.
I love the enthusiasm of the Ogrov, rebel titan and the marza. They're going to go out on to the battle field, fight for you and they'll have a damn good time. Although I admit the rebel titan is a little too enthuastic, to be honest I can imagine him pleasing himself in his captains quarters whilst looking out the window at the nukes going off on an enemy planet...
The percheron sounds like a drunkard, and I like that because it reminds me of saul tigh from BSG.
The TEC colony frigate voice I'm also fond of, he sounds like a young captain, timid and gentle that's been thrown into the bloody chaos of war. He isn't a violent man but he always stays confident and says "We'll do what we can!" even in the face of danger.
The corvette voices are a little irritating I'll admit, the loyalist corvette voice seems almost angry that he's been sent into combat, but the rebel is a boisterous pilot that just wants to impress his commander.
Sure they get repetitive quite fast, but I never get tired of hearing those familiar voices calling back when I give the order.
just give us a button to completly turn them off, because i don't fu*#+%& care about what they try to tell me!
Go into the settings and mute the dialogue volume?
Iam just the perverted one i guess.. i get a boner everytime i hear advent wemen/girls speaking-
they will join us or die!
The unity commands your destruction.
Invoking phase engines!
We shall over cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum!
Our time as CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!
must explain my recent absent in the vasari lobby--i need beta 3..
(siriously-who invokes phase engines? sounds like they have to stick something* somewhere to make it work. I hope for the unity that something is me in someone)
P.s
Just rework the corvettes-i i have never been into child porn tbh.
...What the fuck is wrong with you...
Hahahahahaha!!!!!
@asmosdeus
as you turn off diologe volume you won't get notified in case of an attack, research progress or other important events.
So I have to deal with those idiotic dialogs RiddleKing just mentioned - question is what is wrong with the guys who don't care getting told that the fu+*&%$ time has come to invoke what so ever for the 100th time in a single game
if you click on the ship there is like two or three phrases for each ship so i dont know what your talking about
what you need, is my voice.. for say, some of the advent, sure they're mostly women, but there has to be some men.. and i think my voice would be epicsexyness for it. (if youre wondering a soft received pronounciation accent) :$
By that logic, we need female TEC and Vasari voices.
well thats true, and i agree with that.. the vasari women might sound like jabba the hutts female companion.. but it'd be alright?
May'be the vasari reproduce asexually, like cucumbers, or snails...
Vasari are cucumbers, as of now. Effective immediately.
By logic i don't think so...you will not get tec femail voices just because i get layed with advent wemen. Besides disrupts the races differences where advent wemen rule the higher casts.
lol...
