Zombie's List of mods good enough to EAT!!!

Still not quite finished with my thoughts (hard as they are for a zombie to form). List is no particular oder other than Released and Coming Soon(ish).

Released

	Halo: Sins of the Prophets A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.

Why you should care!	Having had a chance to help out some on Sins of the Prophets I can attest to this mod having great potential. The models were fantastic then and have only gotten better since. The HALO universe also affords a rich space combat experience that will really be brought to life with the Sins engine. It's hard not to look forward to this mod.

7 Deadly Sins

12 playable races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has it's own unique tactics of gameplay.

Why you should care!

7DS is one of the original mods for Sins of a Solar Empire. At one time it was the most popular mod downloaded for the game.

7DS also includes a lot of of the original sins mods as well as many new enhancements over the last couple of years including all new custom HUD displays by Rick Hughes.

Currently in Beta 6, downloads can be found by following the instructions on the Sins forum topic.

Distant Stars

A SoaSE Enhancement Mod.

Why you should care!

Distant Stars is likely one of the most widely played mods for Sins of a Solar Empire currently.

Enhancements include: Sound replacements for music and effects, new electronic warfare and gunship strikecraft, game optimizations, skyboxes, double research, planetary defenses, pirate enhancements, and rebalanced capital ships.

DS also includes several popular "original" enhancement mods: Celestial Bodies, Bailknight's Graphic Mod, Sins Plus, Volumetric Explosions, Multiple Stars and Gurkoz Sins Sounds.

One of the best things about Distant Stars is the almost daily support given by it's members.

	Future Wars A total conversion based on the Star Trek universe. From: FLAM Modding

Why you should care!	It's in German so may not be your thing if language is an issue. Also, one of the few mods for Sins of a Solar Empire (no expansions necessary).

	Stars This mod is for connoisseurs of multistar maps & interstellar military companies. Attemps to bring more realistic space to the gameplay, expanding features and enriching concepts. Provides depth to different development directions: planet habitation, science race, defence, offence. Limited assets force to choose and economize, also giving a chance to totally different tactics. Why you should care!	Comments Here...

	Maelstrom The Maelstrom Mod introduces three new races to the Sins of a Solar Empire Universe. They are independent of the original races and have unique strengths and weaknesses. From: soase-maelstrom

Why you should care!	For starters who the hell is soase-maelstrom. Is it one person, a team, did they replicate themselves (hehe). Regardless, this mod has a lot of content ranging from 3 fully developed custom races, planets and particle effects. Add in his expansion series and you get a fairly significant change in gameplay.

	Star Wars: Requiem As war rages between the Tech, Advent and Vasari factions in the Far Outer Rim... a new power has emerged from the depths of inter-solar space. Encroaching upon this distant part of the sprawling galaxy, the Empire's exploration task forces seek to bring more worlds under the dominion of the Sith Lord, Palpatine... From: JasonFJ

Why you should care!	A great Star Wars mod that keeps the best part of Sins and allows you to go with or against the Empire or Rebellion. Packed with great models and works flawlessly in online play. Any fan of Star Wars should check this mod out.

	Stargate Invasion Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire.The mod will be built in 2 halves. The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment. The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix. From: Stargate Invasion Mod Team

Why you should care!	Stargate is by far my favorite scifi series of all time. Stargate Invasion captures one of the best parts of the series with it's space combat scenes and projects it to a level the series would never have been able to achieve.

	Stargate Races This mod adds custom races to the game based on races from the various Stargate television series. At present it includes the Ancients, Wraith, Asgard, Goa'uld and the Ori. From: dolynick

Why you should care!	While Stargate Invasion focuses more on the Tauri timeline, Stargate races dwelves into the more ancient races. This mod while not as fully developed as it's sibling has had a lot of hard work and fun added by dolynick and should be tried out.

	Sacrifice of Angels 2 Can anyone remember when we used to be explorers? - Jean Luc Picard From SOA2 mod team

Why you should care!	In my opinion Sacrifice of Angels 2 is the most well developed mods for Sins of a Solar Empire. Originating from the Homeworld series and moving to Sins of a Solar Empire have undoubtedly created one of the best mods for the game. Even if your not necessarily a Star Trek fan I bet you'd find it hard not to appreciate this mod and the work it's team has put into it over the years.

It started with a flash in the sky and a ripple through the clouds. The hunger is what brought it here, and feed it did, until there was no more.

Why you should care!

Holy shit!!! why so many goddam folders!!!

Really this is my mod so it's hard to write something serious. The first part of this mod comes from my general fascination with the supernatural while the second comes from my interest in transhumanism and associated works.

Add in the colonials and cylons and you round out my scifi interests.

Sure it's a lot of folders, but the levels of combinations and changes in scenarios are un-rivaled by any other mod.

	Star Wars: Sins of a Galactic Empire From: SW Rebellion

Why you should care!	A great Star Wars mod scaled for realism and attempting to stay as cannon as possible. Any Star Wars fan will love this mod.

	Enhanced 4x Mod This mod seeks to give more depth to the other 3Xs of the game by adding additional game elements or refining the existing ones to reward players who give more strategic thought to the non-combat side of the game. From: GoaFan77

Why you should care!	A mod that attempts to challenge what 4x means with soase. While many changes are subtle the impact on the game are your strategies are hard to miss. I'm curious to see how the new Hero Units flesh out.

	Bailknight's Graphic Mod Bailknight's Graphic Mod is undoubtedly the highest quality graphical makeover for Sins of a Solar Empire. From: Bailknight, updated by Moguta and rjhughes for Diplomacy and Rebellion.

Why you should care!	More of an homage at this point as Bailknight has long since left the Sins modding scene.

	TotalEffects Complete Particle Conversion A graphical mod that mostly focuses on ability effects, From: KrdaxDrkrun

Why you should care!	Building on top of Bailknight's Graphic Mod, this mod attempts to do what very few mods have done by further enhancing the effects of soase.

	The Dark Secret From: rjhughes: "This mod is based on a story i created to merge a new race into the universe of Sins of a Solar Empire. To get the full concept of the mod you need to watch the small load screen movie before you play it........."

Why you should care!	Rjhughes deserves a big nod for his support of the Sins modding community. You'll find his stamp on many different mods most notably through his spectacular UI HUDS. The Dark Secret is also one of the few original mods that isn't pulling directly from another IP which to me makes it unique in the world of modding.

	Mad Scientist 5 Strike Craft Per Race * 94 New Techs * 30 New Abilities Mods Included: (1) Sins Plus v1.3 by Uzii (modified), (2) Volumetric Explosions & Damage Effects v1.12 , (3)Bailknights Graphic Mod v1.1 ,Increased levels of research, Reworked pirate raids, Rebalaced resources. From: Ordian, updated by rjhughes

Why you should care!	Mad Scientist is another of those original mods worth paying homage too that looked to see how it could expand the game beyond it's original boundries.

	Sins Plus From: UZI, kept up to date by rjhughes

Why you should care!	Sins Plus is the parent of all planet mods for Sins of a Solar Empire. Updated versions of this mod can be found at ricksgalaxy.homestead.com

	TSOP The goal of this project is to improve your Vanilla Sins game experience, and to eliminate the 2 gig crash issue. From: Major Stress

Why you should care!	This mod is widely claimed to be responsible for renewing interest in Sins and by extension it's creators. Without this mod we may not have had the Diplomacy updates of 2011 and the Rebellion expansion. Give Major Stress some Karma when you get an opportunity.

	Unofficial Gfx Patch The Unofficial GFX Patch fixes many small graphical inconsistencies or oversights in the base game From: Seleuceia

Why you should care!	Sometimes simple mods are the best. Look for this mod to improve the galaxy map replacing the old stock icons with planet icons that make sense as well as fixing the irritating cavern icon which is used on all planet bonuses even though the icon set exists for the bonuses. A couple of other minor texture improvements and you have a solid enhancement mod. Read the mod's forum page for additional details and updates.

	Gurkoz SINSounds Mod This is a sound replacement mod with the focus on weapons and explosions From: UZI, kept up to date by rjhughes

Why you should care!	While the mod creator has long since left the Sins modding scene, this mod has been widely incorporated into several other mods.

	Babylon 5: Sins of the Younger Races This is the story of the last of the Babylon 5 mod-efforts. It's goal, to prevent another failure, by creating a place to solve our problems collaboratively. Its a port of call, home away from home, for modelers, texturers, programmers and sound engineers. From: TobiWahn_Kenobi

Why you should care!	An ambitious mod with fantastic models and textures. It's also available for downloading alpha versions. This could become one of the best Babylon 5 mods available.

Why you should care!	Shows a lot of promise with an active community and wiki. A multi-player only modification due to the constraints of the Sins AI may limit the audience of this mod. Still one to watch and see if they deliver.

ahh, loaded again and the toolbar said loading facebook, then hung on sending request. I found even DB can hang sometimes loading images, moving all mine to m0dDB under the mod team's image section and extracting the link from the embed code.

Ya, I notice that with dropbox occasionally. Probably not worth worrying to much for this thread as it's not a heavy hitter view wise. I had started moving some images to moddb also for the same reason especially for fallen's main page there.
