Today the official release of Beta 2 for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion will be made available on via the Steam client. This update contains a large number of bug fixes and balance changes, but most notably the addition of the Loyalist and Rebel Advent factions.
Here's the list of changes from 0.62 (Beta 1a):
[ Graphics ]
[ Gameplay ]
[ Interface ]
[ Audio ]
[ Modding ]
[ Misc. ]
It's a great video... And I don't mean to down play it... But I miss the music from the trailer. Any chance we could get that expanded and put in the game?
the new loyalist passive ability looks to be a little more useful in a wider range of situations.
Mini dump in 5s multi on line do you fix it soon? why this bug appear with ur exp? must be ur 1st thing...fix the mini plz ty
or I can not believe that evil can kick some players in games ....
If you want minidumps fixed, the best thing to do is send in the minidump files.
i like the game but i just have a minor complaint. the game doesn't allow you to play by yourself and by that i mean only one player. while i do commonly play with my friends i occasionally play by myself after not playing the game for a while because either another game is caught my interest or something else, and it is only for a hour but i kinda liked it as a way to refresh my self in the game.
Awesome!
But I can't install SoASE in my business laptop in IT department . 4hrs left to return home
Well you could play vs. an easy AI.
There was also this map that Goa made for just this purpose:

The Devs really need to re-think this.
That ship is gone, the crew space dust, and here comes the next Titan magically back to where it was?
Losing your Titan should be the straw that breaks the camels back.
Why not just put a giant reset button as a tech for Titans?
dont know if anyone else has noticed this but it appears the update may have broke the corsevs boarding party ability.... im playing right now and any ship i board and then blow up before duration ends just dies and doesnt become mine. had no problem b4 the patch so idk.
It has been that way for a while, and I don't know when the devs plan to fix it.
kk thanks
Thanks for the convertData, but where is my ConvertXSI?
Perhaps a more reasonable approach would be to allow a player to "buy" levels (like capital ships currently can do) on subsequently built Titans. That way it's not exactly a "give me". With their cost and build time, I don't believe any would be back in the fight too quickly.
if the titan didnt didnt retain is lvl and u lost it then u just lost the game and thats no fun but since it does retain lvl u still have a fighting chance
no that would make the titan OP
The most prominent reason why the Titans don't lose levels is the Rebel Advent Titan. It's ultimate ability requires you to have your Titan die to activate it. Having the level reset to 0 would severly nerf it.
Note that I said on "subsequent" builds.... not the first one.
love the look of the game, love the titans etc.
now one thing i would like is a better gui for the "trade advent resource change" (either that or a better auto ai for it).
TITANS;
i only tried the advents untill now and it is REALLY sweet, however i do find it wierd that its ultimate skill is a "suicide" skill so basicly its only used if it dies seriously this thing cost 10k and takes a year to get and lvl and the ultimate skill is only usable if it dies thats just wrong...
besides that i found it wierd that its only healing skill is by killing its own fleet not just dmg no Killing, instant pop style.... thats also just wrong.. i really think they should relook the skills of the titans
the backside of the titans seems like the designers didnt give it much thought, the front looks massively cool, the backside looks like yer.. looks empty and boring (and the front weaponry is shooting out of its back making it look wierd).
all in all i find it a awesome game from what i have tested, no real bugs so far and a awesome feeling too it (besides the before mentioned wierd stuff )^^
the exact same is true when losing 3-5 of your capital ships lvl 10 if you lose something that you should easily be able to evacuate early on you lose the lvls on it, either that or retain the lvl on the capital ships as well (not sure which one i rather have i find both cap ships and especially the titan to be insanely powerfull at lvl 10 its almost too powerfull compared to anything else in the game. it can literally take on a fully upgraded starbase 1v1 ^^ )
EDIT: difference in the old gameplay and now is that if you lost the majority of your cap fleet and had to go lvl 1 vs enemy lvl 10 you could hide at a fully upgraded starbase and defence line and wait it out getting slowly back on your feet, but now with the titan there it will kindly ignore your puny defence and steamroll through with its full army
What do you want a descriptor that says built in escape pods. The devs design the mechanics so you cant say its goes against game mechanics. Secondly if a titan was reset to lvl one then the other persons titan could just repeatedly steamroll you into oblivion.
You kill the enemy titan and it takes time to be rebuild so you push forward while its rebuilding and kill it again when it shows up. Is that really so hard.
Also its not the same with capitol ships since for one if the enemy didnt lose any capitol ships and you lost every thing then your finished regardless. You lose a few cap ship lvls then they should have too and its still even. specialy because a lvl 10 capitol ship has no where near the influence of loosing a lvl 10 titan back to lvl 1 would.
Lastly I on a personal i like the ability to get a lvl 10 titan in a game cause if it reset every time it died well chances are that will only ever get to 10 in a bot game or the game will last for like 3 days of game time.
why not just make it more expensive if it keeps its level?
What is the issue with Titan levels?
If your Titan dies at level 6 to an enemy level 6 Titan, you're basically doomed if you have to start over from scratch.
You've already got the enormous cost to cover, then the build time before it can get back into the fight, and now you guys want it to have to build its levels back up too?
I understand Titans have been really hyped up, but to have the death of your Titan be the end of the entire game is just ridiculous. They are not the central element, just a really cool and powerful feature. Having the entire game revovle around the survival or death of your Titan is not logical, and by allowing it to be rebuilt with its levels avoids this problem.
Need an explanation?
Ok, TEC Titan crews evacuate in escape pods before it explodes and rejoin in the new Titan.
Advent ressurect their crew in the same manner they can ressurect capital ships.
Vasari collect Nano-probes from the debris of their destroyed Titan and download all of the combat data into the new Titan and the crew.
OMG totaly wrong direction. Titans suppouse to be more expensive, not less.
Also why does it keep level and XP after death!!! this is so wrong. Its making sins another canon fodder .
How are u gonna explain the crew is magicaly teleported to hangar od something?
Titans should die like every cap in game , and new should be build as lv 1 with 0 xp!!!.
