Hey everyone!
We are now ready to have everyone use the new Stardock Central! Please note that this software is currently in Beta and may contain bugs or performance issues.
What does the new Stardock Central do? It lets you download and install any Stardock software you've purchased. It notifies you of updates to the software you have it installed. It also downloads the installers to your computer so that you will always have a backup of our software in the future.
You can download it by going to this page and clicking on Download: https://www.stardock.com/stardockcentral/
Note that the new Stardock Central can update itself. This means that when I push a new version of Stardock Central live, it will automatically update itself the next time it runs. There's no need to come back here to re-download future updates!
Please post any issues you have in the Stardock Central Support forum. I'll be checking it daily for any issues.
Bara
Just pushed an update to Stardock Central (Beta 2.70). The changelog is as follows:
Stardock Central will automatically update itself the next time you launch it. If it does not, please wait a few hours and try again. If you do not yet have Stardock Central, you can get it here.
If you run into any errors or problems, please make a post in the Stardock Central Support forum!
That's pretty friggin awesome, Bara!!
Well, Bara, it shows my subs, but it is inaccurate for the ODNT sub. Way off, actually.
Other than that, good job!
Thanks Bara!
Anyone else having this issue . .post to https://forums.wincustomize.com/423329
Thanks.
Zu, YGM.
While you are fixing things how about the new thing that has G=1 a couple of 0, Tweet and like. After you get off the first page they are right in the middle of the page numbers and also First Next. Thanks
When SDC auto updates , it has a dialog box open that says "Updating Stardock Central". The text runs off of the right side of the window.
This is probably a cache issue. Refreshing or clearing your cache should fix it.
I noticed that, it'll be fixed in the next update.
2 find later
Great update, btw. I like the Hide Software feature in particular and the new Settings layout in general. Username and avatar are nice touches as well. Good job!!
One request: When logged in to SDC, it would be nice if clicking on Go To My Account would take you to the store account page already logged on there.
Also, no version of DX is showing as installed. XP(3.50 installed) or Win7(3.96 installed)
Another thing that would be nice is not having it restart automatically when somethings updated...so you could save anything your working on. I didn't know it was going to do that...didn't lose anything major...just a little image I was working on.
Thanks but that isn't it. I clear it everyday.
Finally found time yesterday, All I can say is, it went great....very smooth.
No problems here. Great work, everyone.
Set launch SDC on windows start up don't start program in system tray. instead just open a main window. how to fix that SDC will start in system tray.
We can't auto-log you in to the store for security reasons. Sorry.
As for your DesktopX issues... Can you try uninstalling it then re-installing it using Stardock Central? Or did you already do that? If so, can you contact support and let them know about the issue? They'll walk you through collecting some data to figure out the problem.
It's not supposed to do that. What software were you trying to update? Do you know what version it was before the update?
There is no "minimize to tray on launch" Stardock Central option yet but I'll take it into a consideration for a future update.
I have the same problem. Already did that. And the only version showing available in SDC is DX Pro 3.5.
Will there be a "Minimise to System Tray" option in any future updates? I find it a little annoying having to close SDC every time I start or restart my PC with the option "Launch Stardock Central on Windows Startup" selected. I did try searching the forums before asking this question but could only find a really old post to the old SDC dated August 2007 which looked like the feature wasn't included then also.
Nevermind, found it. Although, the program I hid was listed as Object Dock Plus 2 - 1.90, rather than 2.1.
A "minimize to system tray" option doesn't exist yet. Keep in mind that if you have the "Automatically Check for Updates" option selected that SDC will automatically run at the defined time and notify you of any updates. Other than that, I don't see a reason for keeping SDC in the system tray at all times.
So SDC doesn't have to be running when "Automatically Check for Updates" is selected?
It uses the Task Scheduler, so it doesn't use up any system resources when it's not checking, that way you don't have to worry about it slowing anything down.
