Ive paid a total of 70$ for everything. The 10$ discount is simply pathetic. The discount should be equal to 30% of what a player has already spent on the series. That means I should have to pay only 21$. Its not greed, its sense.
Other than the Titans and graphics upgrade, Im not hopeful for Rebellion. I dont feel like the rebels/loyalists will be very different from eachother other than their choice of Titan.
Plus, it sounds like corvettes are just going to be OP strikecraft upgrades which is supported by the fact that devs have specifically stated they will not be anti strikecraft. If they arent anti strikecraft, then are ARE the strikecraft because there isnt any other role they could possibly fill.
When you put all this into consideration, Rebellion sounds like a slightly-larger-than-usual micro expansion, better matching a price tag of 20$.
Now Im going to contradict myself (a bit). Youve got a confirmed account by the devs that the [loyalist?] Vasari will be nomadic and could potentially have a way funky playstyle considering they [dont need planets anymore? and] they're Titan is now their homeworld. Then youve got the TEC rebels who can ally with the pirates and use their ships [and stuff]. This implies that the loyalists and rebels are a concept that will immensely increase the strategic depth of SOASE and is well worth the 30$ I will be paying for it.
Question: For some reason I thought each capital ship would be getting new abilities. Am I wrong? I think this would help some of the more useless capital ships.
Another question: When will the preorder discount expire, and when will the game be released? A few months after Rebellion is released, do you think the discount will return?
I'm looking forward to all the improvements in the game, let alone being adviable on steam (please let it be clouded).
As for the $40... to each there own. I "paid" the $40 per say, got the latest expansion pack for $10, then tossed this on there for pre-order. Works for me, get the expansion which I truly wasn't over exited about but now I have it along with an upgrade.
Bring it on! I'm all ready to have some fun now, just to wait for the beta... please please come soon
Yah know. I am not all that worried about the price tag of this game.
As others have said it before me I get hours upon hours of gameplay where like something like CoD which costs $60 I might drop in the next couple weeks with only a few hours even with multiplayer.
Ironclad and Stardock have proven to me that they deserve the money heck they were nice enough to give a discount. I have no problem paying $40 heck $60 if they improve marketting to get a larger PvP community with the new features.
I guess the sadder reality is that the price will drop quickly since this is an hidden gem in the RTS world.
Major, one doesn't have to be profane to be witless.
