To all the guys playing the beta, could we get some more Lets plays and live streams going so us guys that didnt pre-order can see what the game is like? Also it will help raise the awareness of the game abit more if there are vids etc. I know you guys are busy playing and exploring but we none beta's (yet) would like some loving

I'm trying to do a "Lets Play" for FE (it's kinda fun) but I'm having some trouble with it. I'm using FRAPS to record the video/play but I CANNOT get Windows Movie Maker to recognize the files (just shows up as blank). Anyone have any ideas or alternatives to WMM... or FRAPS?
Planning to put them on YouTube, don't really want to explore LiveStreaming yet.
EDIT: Took me all day but I discovered Windows Movie Maker Live to be the problem, it doesn't work with FRAPS. Got an old copy of Windows Movie Maker and I'm making progress now... except my video is like 5 mins too long.
EDIT: Added a few more episodes. Going to try to add one or two a day until I'm caught up and then make it more interactive.

I use Debut Video Capture. And it's a really good free software.
I have watched your LPs and enjoyed them. Anxiously waiting for my access to the BETA to come this week.

I second this. I've been looking for some decent Let's Play video to show it to ppl (on other forums, etc.). Nothing good enough. There is one with commentary, but it's recorded in low quality (480p). Other one is recorded in HD (1080p), but there is no commentary (the guy seems to narrate with mouse cursor -- have a look!). Another one is in HD and has a commentary; pity it's in Italian!
So someone should make Let's Play video, with interesting and fun commentary, and in HD (the game looks not good enough in 480p). Let's tell the world about Fallen Enchantress guys!
edit: I see it's your gameplay video I've found James009D. Thanks for your work. It would be so great if you could upload the videos in better resolution. 720p would be perfectly fine.

once I get my hands on a the Beta this Thursday I intend to host a live stream as well as record a couple of lets play videos. I have a pretty fast connection and a fast computer so i should be able to post the live stream videos in HD quality
The one in HD is from me. I'm the one doing commentary with the mouse. I don't have a mic, and even if I had one I can't barely speak a good english. Adding subtitles would add too much desinging time (for a 15 min video it would take 2 or 3 hours to add commentary at the right moment, in the right place)
James, if you want to record in HD I strongly suggest using Debut Video Capture.

I have been playing around with Debut Video Capture and can't seem to get it to capture my games 100%. I am able to record my desktop and the launch of the game and through the splash screens, but as soon as the main menu loads, all i get recording is audio and a blank screen. Any suggestions?

Another issue guys: black margins. Some FE gameplay videos when played in full screen mode look like this and other like this (both screenshots are from James009D's videos).
Possible explanation (I'm no expert, correct me if I'm wrong):
I think you don't always keep the screen aspect ratio of recorded video the same as aspect ratio of your FE game (i.e. of your monitor if you play on full screen). When you record a widescreen game (16:9, 1.85:1) in non-widescreen aspect ratio (4:3, 3:2) the recording program adds black margins on top and bottom of the video. It gives a bad effect when someone plays the video on widescreen monitor, just like me. Youtube player adds additional black margins on left and right sides of the video (in order to keep the aspect ratio of the video). Now the video is in frames! So it's smaller and it has lower resolution.
ps I know it's easy to criticize. And I know you guys spend hours on making those videos. I just want them to be better and better
ps2 One more thing. Look at the first screenshot. Why in-game blackness is not as black as it could be (the left and right margins are blacker)? Is it because of video compression method?
