I would like to play GalCiv I on a netbook but can't seem to make it work so far (Acer One with Windows 7 basic) and couldn't find any tips on the net nor in the forum. It's GalCiv Gold and i already made a shortcut to the Altarian Prophecy exe as the loaders seems to have problems.
Any hints?

I've heard of people playing it on a Netbook, but I also read the screen resolution was an issue for some.

Your netbook is probably running 1024x600 as most netbooks do. GalCiv1 was fixed at 1024x768 resolution, so you'll probably need to set your desktop to that to get it to run (which means panning to see the whole screen). Unfortunately since GC1 didn't have a scalable UI, you can't force it to run lower and just live with a few overlaps as you can with GC2.

It may be possible to set your resolution bigger than 1024x600. My Samsung netbook supports a res of 1152x864, but of course it's far from ideal on such a small screen.
