As most of us know, there are two main communities in Sins of a Solar Empire, one for multiplayer and one for modding. Bar the occasional group of friends playing a mod on ICO together however, these two communities rarely interact with each other, besides occasional discussions of game balance.
Therefore I propose a little icebreaker in the true Sins fashion, complete with the typical disintegration of metal, screams of nuked worlds, and if we're lucky even the rare space pony sighting, that we've all come to know and love, regardless of which form of Sins we get most of our entertainment from. Yes, I think its time for the first ever Pro Player vs Modders MP game!
Of course as we are meeting in the Pro player's home court, I think in the interest of a semi-interesting game the modders will need a team advantage of some sort. Any ideas on the exact number of players on each team as well as the best time to arrange this will be welcome (I'd guess sometime on Thanksgiving weekend). And of course, if you're interested do let us know.
I'd like to have one pro player sort of be in charge of the logistics of making the game who promises to be there, presumably if any of the other pros don't show we can find substitutes at the game launch. As modders don't often log on to ICO don't commit unless you're sure you can make it at whatever time we agree on. Also if possible I think it would be nice for as many different mods as possible to be represented, but obviously filling the roster comes first.

Apparently we're getting called out to pew pew with pro players...cause that somehow proves something about our manhood or whatever...
Anyway, that got me thinking...after a few weeks or so after release, may be time for another pro vs. modder game? Like, a legit one...you know, the 4v6 we were supposed to have...
They were OP in Vanilla militarily, but yes they had the worst starting position because most of their Empire was off the map (not as bad as the Parthians though, who shouldn't even be on the Vanilla map in 270 BCE). I played the Expanded Greek Mod a bit and it was nice to see it stretch all the way into Afghanistan, though most of the East is undeveloped and ever harder to hold than it was in Vanilla.
Well of course I'm in. If you're on our side this time around we might stand something of a chance...
We also need Zombie...he is at least as good as I am, if not better...
Oh indeed. I think we somehow beat you and Boshimi last time but that was with a mod and I don't think it was a fair start.
If I remember correctly, me and Zombie had equally awful starting positions...we both got locked in by uber awful militias...I think he might have had more planets than I did but I'm not sure...
Also, I love Boshimi but, he did only have 3 planets...

The logical MP players are starting to troll and trolls like Qu4r and RiddleKing are being logical and rational. All I knew about Sins MP is collapsing in on itself. I need to get on TeamSpeak more often for some sanity.

The TS is free to use for all our gaming needs not just Sins.
If it gets bad, I'll just whitelist the server and problem will be fixed.
