Monday morning 8AM (Real world time)I'm having my gallbladder removed. It's been causeing me nothing but trouble the past years.
OUT!! BE GONE, YOU FOUL THING!
Nervous? Not the slightest. I'm actually looking forward to it!
The procedure is quite "simple". Can be done in one of two ways.
1. They poke 4 sticks through my belly, and cut it out that way - and I'll be released the same day. (For some serious pampering by my girlfriend)
2. They drag out the big chainsaw, slice my up and remove it the 'old style' way - 2-3 days recovering in hospital. (Fuck that.....)
I'll update my Facebook about the progress from Monday afternoon - when or if I wake up.
Anything more than a handful and you're risking tongue strain!
If I die, the disc with my collection on it will self destruct within 5 seconds. We're mentally connected.
Don't worry, Paul. I've got my own personal sexy nurse to take care of me.
Sorry, Bryan. They are only doctors, not miracle makers.
Nope, Deven. Nothing will have to change. I had a chat with the butch.... doctor and he asured me that I could eat/drink/act the same as before the surgery. He had had the same operation, and he is still eating the same food/shit as before.
Kitty, I urge you to read the OP one more time. It's not gallstones, this time. They were removed last year. This time the whole friggin bladder is going.

Thank you, everyone. I will be in good hands before, during and after the operation.
*doc considers revs up his trusty Ps to deal with the infidel...
heh my bad snowby....... just acting all mother like and protective i guess... well... good luck sweety and I hope you will be fine xxxx
I know I will be, Kitty.
Dunno what the hospitals are like in your neck of the woods, but if it were me, I'd be putting 'Do NOT Remove' labels on all the bits they're not supposed to be taking out/chopping off... to be sure, to be sure.
Also, place a label across your forehead/chest/whatever saying 'NO Extras... well, you don't wanna wake up with accidental breast implants, do ya?
Anyhow, joking aside, all the best for your surgery.
What really worries me is they tend to put an ID tag on your wrist ...and another on your ankle.....
What....are they saying there's a chance those parts may end up in separate places on their own?
Hadn't thought of it like that before... but yeah! Perhaps surgery candidates should do all their own labeling.
I think I'd have another label just to be sure I woke up with ALL the parts I'm supposed to.... "I Am NOT an Organ Donor ... well not at this stage in my life. Thing is, I'd have to write it in multiple languages, given how many foreign nationals we have working in our hospitals while Aussie doctors [and nurses] make huge, huge bucks [ten times what they can ear here] in the Middle East.
And no, it's not that I have a problem with foreign nationals working here as medicos, so long as they're qualified...
I am, though, highlighting the greed of Aussie doctors [and nurses] who desert our shores to become instant millionaires. One of my former nurses recently did 3 - 6 month tours of Saudi Arabia; Dubai; Kuwait and Iraq as a nurse, and came back a multi-millionaire after just 2 1/2 years. She used to be a kind and generous, caring person, but sadly the money [she brags 3.6 million] has changed her for the worst and she's now a totally stuck-up bitch who wouldn't give you the time of day.
Well after reading replies #1 and #24.
I know you guys are in good hands.
Get well soon.
The snowdude is first on the op table. So if he comes out ok I'll feel a bit safer getting the chop
btw, the id tag is so you don't forget who you are - it happens at our age
Or it's just in case your visitors are senile, forgot your face and need a gentle reminder.
There again the ID tags are for the ME's office... so's the right sti... corpse gets autopsied.
Stop playin around Snowy cuz everyone on earth knows that a Snowman does not have a gallbladder silly! XOXOXOXO
Heyyy what's up w/ this new Karma thingie (and why do I only have 3 and everyone else has bigger numbers?)
Ha! Check that out my member number is only 20 I'm younger than Jafo the macro!
Piece of cake Snowy. My granddaughter had it done through the belly button not long ago and she was playing sports 3 weeks later
Doreen you haven't been on here for 4 years. You must have been busy doing important things. Sorry you missed the Karma explosion during that time. Doesn't really matter as Doc and wiz took most of it.
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts ol friend... I'll be watching for those updates..
Nothing too important really (just hanging out w/ a certain dutch guy over at some deserted skinning ezine) but hey look my Karma # has now jumped to 12!?
Anyways, how is that snowman doing? If it was done by Lap you're most likely doing fine and the only reason you have not posted is cuz you've got your girlfriend serving you by hand and foot! (when you know you could run a marathon by today if you had to)
Ahhh okay you guys me sees who's giving me some of that Karma stuffezzz. hehe! (thank you!)
Alright so I take it the Karma thing is something good? And you give it to each other? (sorry but you guys will need to know I'm totally stingy and I ain't giving mines away so think twice before you give me any) hehe!
It's given as a reward for a good deed or thought you wish to recognize... what you give is not deducted from yours.. simply added to the recipient.
Say you received help from a member on a problem, or someone expressed a nice thought about you or wished something good for you - maybe just a joke when you were down. You would click the thumbs up button on the bottom left of the reply box (which helped or you approved of) and a dialog box opens, and according to your access level, could award karma. Say you are a Master Apprentice: You could award +3, +2 or +1 karma points.... doesn't do much, but it's a way of saying 'good on ya' or 'thanks'. You can also do it from the persons karma box on their page.
Great, now I'm going to turn into some kind of Karma bum standing at the corner of each thread begging w/ my Karma cup in hand...
Just wondering, is it Monday morning for Snowman?
@ Philly: Should be an 8 hour tme difference between you and Snowy. For him it's 11:45 pm Sunday 11/6/11 while it's 1:45 pm Sunday 11/6/11.
FYI: I'm working this side of the street.
hehe I was going to give you some Karma Wizard but you're my competition! My brain just woke up and I see snowy has not had his surgery yet but is rather going under the knife tomorrow so he's most likely been drinking up all the beer and eating up all the foods he's not suppose to drink and eat prior to surgery. I'll have to keep poking in to see how that snowman is doing. These days they have things called iPads and wifi connections in hospitals so there is no excuse for snowy to not keep us posted (unless of course they have to break out that chain saw on him)
Don't look now, but it's 7 to 1318......I don't think competition is the correct word...lol.
