SURVIVAL TEST

What are your plans to survive the looming Zombie Apocolypse? Please help!
Well, I'm not quite sure why you are so willing to ignore the eventual occurrence of a Zombie outbreak but I'll take your stuff too whether it's crap or not. I'd also have no faith in the CDC or any government entity being able to protect me from such an occurrence.
I've got the perfect Zombie plan. I'm headed north to Alaska! Zombies have no body heat and so they will freeze like corpsecicles! Plus, we will have the native bear population for defense against Zombies ... unless there are Zombie bears ... then that would complicate things.
I'm just headed to Texas to hang out with Draak and reload his ammo clips.
I've got my survival skills, stealth, and my khurkuri
And swords, throwing knives/stars, large sheath blades, and trapping skills.
Bring em on!
I would completely and utterly destroy them by flying a space shuttle to get this while wearing this.
Fear me...if you dare.
That is exactly the sentiment that will keep you alive. Kudos.
Hey, SivCorp is still alive. I thought the zombies got ya.
Reloading clips is for unwinding from the days carnage, if you're doing it in combat, you're insufficiently prepared. For a zombie apocalypse, you need to be able to sling off several hundred rounds before that need arises.
Several hundred? I'm thinking in the neighborhood of several thousand rounds of fun. He'll be on his roof just mowing down wave after wave, by the time I get there, 1,500 mile trip will take some time, if I want to have any fun mowing down wave after wave with his toys, I'm gonna be spending some time reloading ammo clips for the both of us. That's just the polite thing to do.
Thats fine for a smal town maybe. But several thousand rounds won't last long if you have to take down every nearby zombie to survive which could number in the millions.
Some survival techniques probably also depend on how pervasive the outbreak is.
Are you immune? It's possible, and would be great if the cause is airborne.
Does it spread by simple contact or is an open wound required?
Can it enter through the mouth or eyes?
Would you experiment on "law breakers" or other less desirables in your post apocolypse community to find out?
My favorite part of Left 4 Dead is all the ridiculous signs you see about washing your hands properly. I am more of the "Let is spread" group of survivalists. No need to experiment. That is how you get turned.
I'm telling you guys ... Alaska is the place to be.
Not so sure... you can be the target of the famous Canadian zombie goose with 4 legs...
Well, female mosquito can be a good vectors...
Zombies a living history on the History Channel tonight!

I actually took a class on myths where we spent a good month on zombies. Much like that doc I'd say. Really sad to find out though that voodoo dolls were created by a tourist company in the south. The one thing I put faith in!
Anyone catch the mid-season finale of the Walking Dead?
What did you think when the girl they've been searching for finally walked out of the barn? I was actually a little sad for her and am really looking forward to when Shane gets his too
Great show
didnt see that coming but was wondering if the whole season was going to be about that issue
Well, I'm glad it finally happened. I was ready for that plot line to finish.
I'm holding off reading the comics for Walking Dead until this season is over.
BTW, I found my Zombie Survival Guide Card Deck. I may have to highlight a card periodically just so people have a chance against the coming ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE!!!
I'm happy for the plot line to wrap up as well - drawn out a smidge too long on the search. I was just talking about the differences between the comic book and the series. Looks like Sophia is alive in the comic still.
Not sure why you feel a need to hold off on reading the comics though - so many differences... I suppose I get can them confused a bit reading/watching at the same time, though.
Love how they are developing Shane in the series though. I wonder if they end up with a showdown between him and Rick before this season ends. They might drag that one out though...
I'm guessing they'll have to move on from the farm after Shane cleared it out. Regarding Sophia coming out at the very end.... I don't know - sure, it was a good dramatic point to end the episode on, but c'mon. Hershel knew they were looking for a little girl. Hershall wanted them gone. The little girl either was a complete idiot, decided to hide in the barn and somehow got bit there (instead of going to the house with all the people...) or Hershel found her and put her there or one of his people. And you'd think it would be passing conversation at some point with Hershel that they found a zombie girl today and stuck her in the barn - doesn't sound like that happens every day, so they'd talk. Hershel might magically put it together that they found the girl instead of offerering them safe harbor until they found the girl. So, if Hershel knew, then he didn't say anything because he didn't want them to find the barn (they are pulling out maps and searching everywhere for like weeks... god knows they'd never look at the barn. Anyway, apparently we are to believe what then... bleh. I think it was kind of a cheap way to end the show at a dramatic point. Not entirely how the little kid would end up in the barn without someone knowing... if she was alive when she got there, she couldn't get in the front... so she'd had to go in the top like Glen... only then she'd probably hear the moaning zombies, eh. Anyway, dramatic, but really weak writing imo.
It's definitely not an aversion to reading books, let alone comics. I still have my now somewhat vintage comic collection from my youth in my basement.
At this point I'm enjoying the series and don't want to mix the two together at the same time is all. Much like I wouldn't want to be half way through a novel and then watch the movie.
Well, the explanation given was that Otis put Sophia in the barn, now whether Hershel knew, which I'm inclined to believe, is another issue. Frankly I think he's bull headed enough to know it and not reveal it because he didn't want his "dead" family and friends targeted. I think Otis's character would have said had it not been setup to rush him for the medical supplies. So maybe a bit drawn out or over dramatized, but it was still good theater.
I would just let natural selection do the picking. To much help info and you are bound to end up with a useless lawyer or banker in your group. These guys would no longer be referred to as a "lawyer" or "banker". There new designation would be BAIT. I will take the red neck with the crossbow any day.
@Pacov I don't think is was weeks. TV just makes the timeline seem long. Why would he tell of the girl in the barn when he knew what did happen would happen. They were just meant to give up the search and go.
I've nearly completed my nuclear powered "mole cruiser". I'll simply burrow deep into the earth's crust when the ZA comes and live off cultured bacteria harvested from the rocks there--tastes like pudding. When I am ready to return to the surface I'll crack the dome of Yellowstone's super-volcanic caldera--insuring all zombies for hundreds of miles in all directions will be fried. Then I'll kick back in a lawn chair watching the wilderness and eating crisped black elk and bison.
Good times.
zombies - when was that explanation given? On the talking dead or something?
