Has anyone played Rage yet? What do you think?
I have been reading alot of info and at best I think most people consider it mediocre and at worst not worth even bargain bin pricing. Seen lots of pics of the game compared to other older games like Fear and Doom3 and it is to say very disappointing that the older games can look better not to mention some amazing looking games like Crysis and Metro 2033.
I am sad to see so much hype and so little to show for it and yes it is a console port in every sense of the word.
I liked it. I have it on the PC and really enjoyed it. To me it was one of the better FPS I have played in a long time but that is IMO.
I haven't played it, but I have been hearing that it is a beautiful game and just a lot of fun to play. The one knock I heard was the story isn't really all that prioritized in the game.
The driving parts can drag on a bit, especially for those of us who don't care for that type of gameplay.
I bought it for PC but have not even touched it yet. I regret being impatient. At $60 a pop, I'd really recommend waiting for a price drop. The campaign is supposedly about 9 hours total. I'd wager I'll like it when I get around to it, but wish I'd exercised a wee bit more patience.
I've been enjoying it but plan to go on to Dark Souls after. Have to make space for Batman and Skyrim soon.
I'll definetly pick it up when it goes for 5$ or so.
I really like ID Softwares games. The gameplay is always solid in them but I have no desire for it and thus are not ready to spend any considerable money on it.
Just checked and there are no STEAM achievements!
Man....ok I can give 3$.
I could really just play Fallout NV for the rest of my RPGFPS life. I wouldn't spend more than 10 dollars on another shooter unless it really wowed me.

Sad thing is that I picked this game up yesterday thinking it can't be that bad but the above review sums it up nicely. My 5850 has a hard time with the bugs and glitches in this game as it is right now. The campaign is extremely short. Bad driving sections used to try and flesh out the game and make it feel bigger and longer than it is. Waste of 60 dollars.
This big thing is suppose to be the graphics and the super mega textures but they aren't that impressive after Crysis in 2007 being much more beautiful and Metro2033 is alot nicer to look at and is much more atmospheric.
Carmack said his biggest mistake was trying to develop for consoles and PC instead of making PC first priority. Well it shows in every aspect of the game so far.
Maybe if modders are able to work with this in the future something good will come of it but as it is now, save your money, buy BF3 or Skyrim and get much more enjoyment from them.
I already unlocked 8 of these nonexistant Steam achievements. How does that work? Are we in a different universe here? I'm confused.
I think the game is fantastic, aside from the driver issues. The only spot I've found particularly ugly while using the Rage AMD drivers is in Dead City...most of the game looks great IMO. I wish more games looked this bad!
