I predict 2014, the debt will be being substantially reduced, unemployment down, 1-2% at least, Obama-not-care repealed, if it even makes it thru the SC (doubtful).. there will have been a dramatic turnaround.

Let me get it straight.. it was all the rage, it was encouraged and cheer-leaded to hope 3 years ago, with the Messiah coming into office.. and now that he has failed, You want me to lose my hope now? Hardly.
I know it stings, I actually feel sorry for all the folks who were hoodwinked by this snake oil vendor, I really do. I hate to sound arrogant, but I knew everything I needed to know about the guy within about 2 weeks of him being on the scene, way back when.
So, I'll be damned if now that everyone has seen him, them, for what they are, if I am going to lose my hope for my future.

The American public for the most part is neither analytical nor critical in its thinking. No one delves into serious analyses... the next gadget is really more important.... the wrapping/presentation is more important than the content, and everyone knows that the perception is the reality.
The education is abysmal not from lack of material offered, but from what is learned in between game boy and playstationX. Games, sports, anything but knowledge is respected. There will be a disaster from that as well. The easy way is what's taken.

I also look forward to the election. I can't predict who'll win (I never thought Nixon could) but the way that Washington is going at the moment will certainly present some interesting dust ups before then. We have to give the freshman teabaggers sufficient time to really muck up the works for there to be more of a negative impact than they have already caused.

He was hands off at all the wrong times, and was weak. He also was completely wrong in his handling of the Middle East.

I've been sitting here pondering this and I can only come up with a few things, which you may or may not find encouraging:
1 - I believe we do have to credit him for keeping Pakistan out of the loop during the Osama project. You've got to admit, that was a pretty ballsy decision, and personally I do believe it directly affected the results. Granted, not a fact.
2 - As I mentioned before I also believe his choice to stay at arms length from Libya was prudent economically (and diplomatically). Granted, not a fact.
3 - I believe his interest in the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" is a positive thing. I know, not a fact.
I've also been sitting here pondering past presidents trying to think of any positive facts I can directly attribute to them, and you know, I'm not coming up with much. Seriously, I'm blank. I guess my political memory is as short as anyone else.
Well, most former presidents didn't come riding in on a white horse, backed by Messianic fanfare either.
I cant think of anyone so heralded, that has failed, so badly.
He's done a few good things dont get me wrong, but mostly i am thinking in domestic policy terms that affect our everyday lives.
