If you own Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity and Sins: Diplomacy and haven’t gotten your pre-order in for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, you have until the end of September to lock in your discount. By pre-ordering now you save $10, but that special will end at the end of the month, so pre-order now!

Well, now that the discount is over, if I do decide to purchase Rebellion at the $40 price, I'd much prefer to pick up a hard copy locally. Maybe they'll bring the discount back again, temporarily, when it's closer to release or shortly after its release.
so, do you finally accept paypal?!
They are UNABLE to accept paypal until two weeks prior to the day the money will be drawn from the credit card / paypal account (i.e. the day the beta is released for testing). This is an issue with PAYPAL not allowing pre-order 'charges' farther than two weeks in advance. This is not a Stardock / IronClad issue. Send an e-mail to paypal. If you are not happy with their service let your voice be heard.
I would preorder if there was a physical copy version available. At the moment, Impulse sucks. Therefore, I will not be preordering the game until it is on Steam and/or a physical copy exists.
They'll be a physical copy, but probably not for a while yet. It will be an upgrade option at some point if you order direct from Stardock.
shucks ... we can buy direct from stardock? I think I bought the pre-order from Impulse.
I want a hard copy as well...wish I'd have known this before.
All Rebellion pre-orders remain with Stardock, whether you did it while we still owned Impulse or not.
Will this hard copy be on store shelves? I think it might help establish Rebellion as a first-rate product that people who see it on shelves might want to learn more about. Anytime I pass by the computer software section at a big box store I look to see if I can find Trinity and I smile when I see it.
Ditto! I cruise by the PC game shelf on a weekly basis (sometimes twice a week!)
There are PC game shelfs?!?!
Yup. You can still find itty bitty PC game areas in places like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy.
I was so disappointed that the Best Buy near me reduced their games section from 5 full isles to just one rack, and the shelves on the rack are almost never full. Pity. No one appreciates good box art and a well put together game manual anymore...
so you give us a couple of vague articles on the dev forums and a picture of a really big ship and you expect us to pre-order? ... most games have video demonstrations or at least trailers by now!!!
Troll much?
While he as a point.
You dont have pre-order if you choose. It call free will.
There been pre-orders started with less info that what we have for Rebellion.
Anywho....
I have purchased the pre release special two months ago and WOULD like to know when to expect it to ship.
I know my money is still in my account till it ships.
About time it shipped.
Regards
@Carlsfand anyone else who might be curious,
According to this link: https://store.stardock.com/product.aspx?productid=ESD-SDE-W011 The release date for Rebellion is December 1st.
Thank you Stant for finding that.
If it was going to be release on December 1st, I would hope they let out that beta SOON.
I did my pre-order, but I have never heard a thing back. Now that Gamestop owns Impulse, I hope they do not lose my pre-order info.
Stardock I have faith in.
GameStop.. I have no faith in.
Keep the faith.
As Yarlen said, Rebellion orders are with Stardock. The December 1st date on that was a placeholder, it's not going to be released then.
More info about possible release dates and such will be detailed in the coming weeks or so.
Thanks Island Dog that is somewhat re-assuring. Having noticed that Impulse is now selling games that REQUIRE 'STEAM' ... well, I don't hold much hope for them staying afloat for long. $&%!
I don't suppose Stardock will have a simple update service that requires you to register the game to update? Kind of how Impulse used to be?
Those PC games shelves do exist. I bought my copy of Trinity form a Wal-Mart for I can't rememeber how much, about 40 bucks.
Impulse has always sold some games that required Steam, they were just few and far between.
Speaking of Impulse... Oh. My. God. Game Stop has taken what was once the shining beacon of digital distribution and crapped messily all over it. I've pretty much switched to Steam since they took over - which is saying a lot, coming from me. Sorry Star Dock, your baby did NOT go to a good home; Game Stop is the metaphoric pedophile to Impulse.
In fact, they don't even call it Impulse any more, and the damned thing has pop-up advertisements. It's terrible. Call CPS.
In fact we will. It won't be nearly as complex as Impulse used to be, but it will provide a way to keep our products updated and for folks to re-download their purchases.
