How To Install Sins of the Fallen
Important: RESTART Sins of a Solar Empire after activating the mod. This will avoid a common mini-dump after starting a game. If the game mini-dumps attempting to deactivate the mod (i.e. similar issue), then delete the EnabledMods.txt in your rebellion mod folder.

Quick synopsis
This mod introduces the colonial and cylon factions to the Sins of the Fallen universe. Both races will be playable with any of the planets, addons, and races included in Sins of the Fallen including the stock races. Both the colonial and cylon's factions will be balanced against the stock factions to support this approach.
Colonial Fleet
Relying on heavily armored and armed ships the colonial fleet is always on the defense looking for cylon incursions. Lacking shields of any kind Battlestar Point Defense systems are used to intercept incoming weapons and minimize damage to nearby frigates and cruisers supporting the fleet.

Modding Contributions Needed
Hey Z.... I'll help out.
Can I have SVN access?
i have everything including rebellion. was just wondering if there was any point to trying the diplomacy version. gonna stick to sins of 13th tribe till next rebellion release.
To use some modified copy/paste from SoGE's guide:
1) Please download and install TortoiseSVN2) Next, navigate to your Mods-Rebellion v1.0XX folder (located in ...Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion)3) Right-click the folder and select "SVN Checkout" (NOTE: You will need to repeat this Y times in order to add in all the folders of the mod) 4) Set URL of repository: svn://urlhere.com/folder/subfolderand the checkout directory nameSins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.0XX\MOD NAME5) Click Ok and let it download. (If the folder is very large:) It is known that at times the download will abort while downloading. If this occurs, run SVN Checkout again, and do not delete the folder you already have, overwrite it instead.6) You should now have a full directory with a green checkmark7) To update: Just right-click the folders and select "SVN Update".
Here's some specific items I'd like feedback on (Colonials only)...
Economic pacing for early game Colonials (i.e. focusing on non-combat labs/research versus combat)
Combat pacing for early game Colonials (i.e. focusing on combat labs/research versus non-combat)
Research Feedback?
Research String Descriptions?
Ability suggestions - Open to suggestions that fit with the current ability names and icons. I don't want to create new assets but tweaking the underlying code is acceptable.
Balance:
Personally I feel early game battlestars are too strong especially when evidenced against this comparison spreadsheet.

Frigates are actually fairly close per supply. Basically while less in numbers they stack up fairly well to other factions. The delimiting factor right now is mitigation which may need some more tweaking to balance things out.

Hey Z, my internet has run out (limit of 8GB), so I wont be able to download anything until 16th October. Sorry dude. Will be able to help out from this date.
Good point, thanks for bringing that up.
I'll download turtoise svn and see about making a base build you can download.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5790092/Temp/Mods-Rebellion%20v1.041.7z (762KB). Fairly big but atleast under a GB. In theory you should be able to extract this to your mod folder and then use TortoiseSVN to receive only updates.
SVN Update:
Hi,
is the mod compatible with the current Reb. version (1.041)?
He does not work for me.
JB
Has done, the latest update found.
I haven't officially released anything for 1.041, but your welcome to try that download.
I need to tweak the main menu... It's not sins of the 13th tribe
something like the LCARS menu from sacrifice of angels 2 would be cool..... what battlestar is that pic off?
That is the Cetus class Titanstar.
Oh ya the Cetus. I don't like it so that's probably why I didn't recognize it.
I took this version:
_______________________________________________________________________________
If I "Disruptor Missiles" in "Fleet Designs' explore, the game crashes.
Works fine on my end... no mini-dumps or crashes.
Hi there, I would like to make some adjustments to the mod for my play style - but I can't seem to convert the binary .entity files. Is there any way I could get the text files from you? I have no inclination to publish any changes I would just like to play around with balancing.
Sorry prob should have mentioned, I'm using the diplomacy version
my textbingui would be able to help you.
harpo
Thanks! Will get that now. Other question, if I use the mesh resize tool on any mesh I get a minidump - is there any way around this? Need a bigger BSG
This is what I use to convert from text to bin or vice versa.
what dumps? the resize tool? the game?
And a word of warning bigger meshes behave poorly in sins making the bumper care affect even worse.
