How To Install Sins of the Fallen
Important: RESTART Sins of a Solar Empire after activating the mod. This will avoid a common mini-dump after starting a game. If the game mini-dumps attempting to deactivate the mod (i.e. similar issue), then delete the EnabledMods.txt in your rebellion mod folder.

* This mod uses some assets from Sins of the 13th Tribe (credit will be listed in the readme when released).
Quick synopsis
This mod introduces the colonial and cylon factions to the Sins of the Fallen universe. Both races will be playable with any of the planets, addons, and races included in Sins of the Fallen including the stock races. Both the colonial and cylon's factions will be balanced against the stock factions to support this approach.
Colonial Fleet
Relying on heavily armored and armed ships the colonial fleet is always on the defense looking for cylon incursions. Lacking shields of any kind Battlestar Point Defense systems are used to intercept incoming weapons and minimize damage to nearby frigates and cruisers supporting the fleet.

Looks Great. Any news of a release date?
Probably this weekend. I'm working on a flak shield/point defense ability for battlestars and watching to see how the AI expands and fairs against other factions.
I've been through a few different variations of point defense systems trying to bridge the gap between ships with standard shielding. I'm starting to settle on the idea of Battlestars having a form of flak shielding after watching the series some again. Basically the ability would use the Sin's shield mitigation mechanic to reduce incoming damage while using the flak ability.
I've also got the fleet supply a lot higher for Colonial frigates/cruisers so they feel less spammy and more formidable. This is where watching the AI expand comes in. I've noticed it's definately less spammy than the stock fleets and I was kind of worried how they would fare. Though I'll note the took down a nearby TEC and Vasari in a 4v4 game where I pretty much observed as the ninth player. It still needs some tweaking but I like the larger supply values, and one AI still built 7 Battlestars, lol.
So in this weekends release, what will the Colonial starbase be? have you finished Ragnar Anchorage???

Yes, that's correct. Sins of the Fallen is my mod and Blood and Chrome will be part of the Fallen universe.
Will this mod be seperate from Sins of the Fallen? Cause I've been unable to get that one working on my game keep on getting crashes.
Well... "my game keep on getting crashes" is not much to go on. Could be memory, could be improper activation, could be bad download as many people are able to run the mod without issue.
Maybe post on moddb or https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/388917 to see if the problem can be resolved.

*sigh* no update this weekend for general consumption. I found a few things that were broken and didn't have as much time as I wanted due to real life. Also looking for a way to upload demo versions of this without killing my dropbox. Should hopefully have some more info this week.

Be aware ZombieRus5, NBC Universal who own BSG and all its assets have begun a new campaigne to eliminate any and all BSG mods .... just been reading up about it for Moddb, as thats just been affected.
Just out of curiosity, could you post where you read that?

One of the mods I have been following was deleted, and the creator had this to say (a few spelling mistakes but its the jist of what's going on) Second Life had also been under attack and probably they are just going to keep going, details are a little sketcy at the moment as it seems its only just occured in the last 24 hours for moddb.
UPDATE ON THE REMOVAL OF SFAW Ive just recieved word that all battlestar mads on moddb have been removed, and since SFAW has BSG as part of it, down it went Ive just sent them a message asking them 2 put it back up BUT ill have 2 remove everytihng BSG from the mod as a result... This is a compromise im willing to make, as i can replace them with Babylon 5 or Wing Commander, since im adding them now. Im sorry for this issue and ill keep u guys i nthe loop as things develop Dont blame me go hit up NBC Universal as theyre the one who issues the takedown notice

Second Life article, I will assume Garry's Mod from Steam might be the next target as it looks very similar to Second Life
Hopefully if ZombieRus5 states (if he can) that all assets in this mod are not affiliated with NBC Universal and that it is a non profit mod (some where on the main post), I think it would probably be enough to stave off the lawyers
Added a disclaimer to the OP and will include that in the splash screen on game start as well as as in the readme.
I won't be posting anything on moddb either in relation to BSG.
Hopefully Maelstrom's mod is not targetted for it's use of the colonial inspired fleet for the trade alliance.

I know I'm being Hypocritical, but with the recent events do you have an ETA for this portion? Usually I don't like to try to rush a mod release (hell I despise it!). But, in this case, I would rather have a mod that is partially finished than no mod at all.
Ya, it's kind of a bummer. Let me build some disclaimer text into the mod and try and get it released tomorrow.
If they really want to stop BSG mods, then they should have proper BSG games made.
NBC Universal shutting down BSG fan works is an issue. I hope they don't send a C&D order to Diaspora.
Well Diaspora seems to still be active. It's hard to say why NBC Universal targeted moddb. It could be because moddb is contains advertisements as a for profit site.
Either way I'm on my second upload of my mod which apparently failed the first time.

This last update requires you to add what races you want to play. For example if you only activate SotF Colonial R5 and SotF Core R5 then the ONLY race that will be playeable is the colonials.
