Sins of a Galactic Empire (SoGE) 4.10.0 release for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.82+A Star Wars total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire08-09-2015For a full change log see: http://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-a-galactic-empire/news/soge-4100-release-notesINSTALLATION=============================================The whole mod is around 2.2 GB in size, when extractedExtract the contents of the zip file to your sins mod directory Example for windows XP C:\Documents\\My Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.XExample for Vista/Win 7/Win 8 C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.XNext, before installing the mod proper, one must enable the Large Address Flag on Sins' exe. This is is required for SoGE to work, or else it will not function correctly. This will not interfere with your ability play with other people (i.e. a person without an LAA exe can play with someone who has an LAA exe), nor does it break any rules set out by Stardock or Steam.Step by step instructions:1) Open "Large Address Aware.exe".2) Select "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion.exe" to modify (click on the "..." button to browse). It can be found in the following folder:...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion3) Check the box specifying that you want to make the game large address aware.4) Click on save to save the changes.Full credit for this program goes to FordGT90Concept of http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/(See here for a more detailed walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hquH8iZXik or: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/381382/page/1/ )To activate the mod, open the EnabledMods.txt file present in the previously mentioned folder and edit the file like so (this can be copy-pasted in):TXTVersion 0enabledModNameCount 1enabledModName "SoGE 4.10.0"The blank line must be present in order for the game to read the EnabledMods.txt file correctly. An editted version of EnabledMods.txt has been provided with the mod; these instructions are here in the event that the provided file is lost. The mod should be working fine if the only races you can select are Star Wars races. If this is not the case you have not properly installed the mod in your mods folder.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE INGAME MODS OPTION PAGE TO ENABLE THE MOD, THIS OFTEN RESULTS IN A CRASH AND IS KNOWN TO CAUSE INSTABILITY.ADDON INSTALLATION=============================================SoGE also has several addons available for it, which introduce various changes to the mod. Included in the main download is the "Squad Size Reduction" addon, which condenses all fighter squadrons into having a single super fighter and edits anti-fighter abilities to reflect that change. This addon was created primarily to reduce lag, for both singleplayer and multiplayer matches. To install an addon, one must once again edit EnabledMods.txt, and place the addon above the main mod in the list like so:TXTVersion 0enabledModNameCount 2enabledModName "SoGE Addon - Squad Size Reduction"enabledModName "SoGE 4.10.0"TEAM=============================================Lavo (Ship stats, abilities, tech tree work, rigging, interface icons)Warb_Null (Models, textures)Maxloef (Models, textures, particles, sounds, skyboxes)starkiller623 (Maps)Service_Disconnect (Interface icons)Wawac (Interface icons)mmeier1986 (Error/bug fixing)Chimaera (Ship stats)Many many beta testers, many who didn't do a thing, thanks to those that give us valuable feedback!INACTIVE STAFF=============================================Evillejedi (Models, textures, ship stats)NovaCameron (Planets; models, textures, and stats)Psychoak (Abilities and tons of debugging [1.0E would have taken another year without his help])Ludo Kreesh (SW Music, UI, interface icons)Zoommooz (Tech tree additions/editting)Evaders (Swrebellion.com Web support and general debugging)sloosecannon (Coding, general debugging)Ozwolf (Interface icons)Pedro (SW Music)CREDITS=============================================GoaFan77 (Modeling, texture, and ability assistance, mainview icons, and other insight)Burntstrobe (All planet textures in the mod, save for the Acid, Rusty, and Gas Giant planets)myfist0 (Modeling and texture assistance and other insight)RC-1290 'Dreadnaught' (Shield impact shader, bloom/star shaders)Snowba11 (Most of the premade maps)Mick666 (Re-scaling of most premade maps, creating and contributing to the SoGE wiki)Arvis Taljik (Praetor, Malevolence, and other, textures)NomeMD (Sentinel model and icons)Republic at War team (Rusty planet's original texture)ERock72 (Providence hanger shield particle)Nomada_Firefox (Created the Endurance's mesh from EJ's Nebula SD)the50first (Getting IA2/RaW's Malevolence's textures to work in SoGE)KrdaxDrkrun (A number of particles in this mod originate from his mod TotalEffects)axeldude (Planet.fx)Egosoft (Skybox textures)Cole_Protocol (Assault Frigate Mk.II's cloaking particle)ZombiesRus5, harpo99999, soviet.belldandy (Various tools and code repositories which helped speed things up alot)Valpheus (Experimental Exhaust Colour Mod; removing team colors from exhaust)MrPhildevil (Interface icons)husker98 (A few maps built off of Snowba11's large galaxy map)Drone04 (Mon Calamari Heavy Carrier, Rejuvinator's original concept art)AdamKop (Rothana Battleship's original render)Valpheus (Vasari Deep Voice mod)dolynick, Uzii (dolynick's Galaxy Mod was integrated at one point in time, some remnants are still around)Probably some other people we are missing, thanks.CONTACT=============================================Forum http://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-a-galactic-empire/forumModdb page http://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-a-galactic-empireNexusMods page http://www.nexusmods.com/sinsofasolarempire/mods/5/Steam community page http://steamcommunity.com/groups/soageSins forum https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/411648Wiki http://sins-of-a-galactic-empire.wikia.comIRC #SoGE @ irc.coldfront.netCOMPATIBILITY=============================================Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion 1.82+

If that still hasn't changed your checksum, something is definitely wrong with your installation. Are you sure you are downloading the version 955 as well, not just the version 961 patch?
If so, I'll leave it to Master Lavo on that one.
Reinstall Sins. I do realize I'm literally walking you through the whole process, but unfortunately that's the case if none of Goafan's post applies, and you wouldn't be the first person to have this issue. However, before going this far, I would suggest waiting a few days...
The next full version of SoGE will be released during the week of December the 24th. It will be a full release only, i.e. there will be no patch for those that already have SoGE. This is an unfortunate necessity due to a number files being moved around for various reasons. Additionally, there will be an optional addons patch released along side this full version, which will at the very least include the following: reduced weapon ranges for all ships (to ensure more close ranged battles), increased health and passive regeneration (for longer battles), tougher AI options, and having gravity well generators slow down hyperspace charge up speed (like vanilla Sins) instead of preventing ships from entering hyperspace. These four addons will all be compatible with one and other. As well, I'd like to the opportunity to bring to your attention the new SoGE Wiki project, which was recently founded by by Mick666. It is currently in a pre-alpha state, however over time it is planned to add detailed information on ships to it, much more than what can be displayed ingame, such as the DPS per front and side bank of a weapon, rather than the total DPS, and the real supply value of frigates as most frigates cost less than one supply. Discussion about the wiki, feedback and criticism, are all welcome and can be voiced in SoGE's forums at SWR, in the General subforum. The SoGE team wishes you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Also important, an official IRC (With Lavos blessing) has been opened.
Get to it here- http://cbe002.chat.mibbit.com/?channel=#SoGE&server=irc.coldfront.net&nick=
IRC got moved. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Ok this may have been asked but why can the AI build a Titan but I never can? I've tried being neutral and loyalist faction but no joy and its really annoying
Read the ReadMe please.
Ah ha!
I am pleased to announce that R996 has been released and is now avaliable for download.
Heya guys,
I am getting a minidump every time I try to start a game with the mod. The mod is running fine in the menus, but dumps after about 30 seconds after I start a game. Rebellion version is 1.1.4480.
The mod checksum is 1862185529.
I am using the New Republic, CIS, Alliance, and the Imperial VSD addon.
I'm not sure what's causing the dumps, I've tried turning down some of the graphics options, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas? I'm dying to try out this mod.
Cancel that guys, I figured it out, it turns out that it crashes when I'm using a custom map I made in Galaxy Forge. When I choose one of the normal random maps, everything loads up fine.
One small bug for your testers though - it always minidumps and crashes when I quit a game that's in progress.
This is, unfortunately, a known issues with Sins itself and cannot be fixed by us mere modders.
Hey Lavo, quick question. I'm playing CIS at the moment, and I noticed that their Titan always shows up as black when it is spawned. I've updated my graphics drivers and tried tweaking game settings, but nothing seems to get the texture to show up.
Could it be an issue with this one ship, or is there something on my end that could cause some textures to disappear or not show up?
Great mod, and thanks for any help
Aught to be something on your end. Which supercap are you referring to?
Ok, I must be the densest person ever, because I've read the ReadMe back to front (both the one at the beginning of this thread and the one that is the mod folder) and I still have zero idea how to build my Executor.
That aside, you guys should be damn proud: This mod is INCREDIBLE.
EDIT: Found the, "How to Build SuperCap.txt" file but it didn't help me. I've done all the research but every time I go to click the Executor, I get "1 point of This exists for the AI to function correctly prerequisite research must be conducted first" as a message.
Thoughts?
You aren't reading it... You're trying to build the thing like a real ship; use the ABILITY on the factory, NOT THE SHIP BUILD MENU.
Allright, first of all thank you for making this awesome mod but i am getting a minidump error every time i start up rebellion with the mod activated. I tried to just run the CORE file and i found the problem with the dev.exe
I use the standard 6 files and i get a lot of these errors:
Text FileArchive missing Label.
File: C:\Users\Kinderen\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.01 Dev\SoGE R996 Reb - CORE\GameInfo\Gameplay.constantsLabel: maxNumberOfCannonsPerPlayer Line Number:16Line Contents: cannonsPerGravityWellRatio 1
When i look the gameplay.constants folder, i tried to fix this by changing the order so the label was on the right line. However there are just too much of these "wrong order" errors to fix.
when i try to activate the mod ingame my checksum is (and i am using the R997 Hotfix that was released today): -739261051I don't know why it is negative now, it seems that it varies when i change the order, the current order is now: Documentation, alliance, CIS, New Republic, Republic, Vong and CORE.
Rebellion on itself without any mods runs perfectly without the minidump error on startup, even on highest settings.
I have been trying to fix this issue for 2 days, spend a lot of hours researching information about it and nothing works: not the changing of resolution or settings, not the disabling of showing errors. I registered especialy on the forums for this problem. I'm a big fan of the mod, played it on entrenchment.
It's a pain in the arse that I can't get this to work, so please help me.
Sorry, that's your problem; you are attempting to run SoGE on an old version of SoaSE:Rebellion. SoGE will only work on version 1.1; we do not support older versions of Sins. Update Sins and it will work just fine.
The negative checksum is also normal; that occurs purely due to how Sins handles stacked mods.
Normally i have version 1.1, I do have the updates 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 but i didn't install them because the mod was for 1.1.
This is my version number: 1.01.4176
You must have pirated Rebellion then since Steam auto-updates regular copies to the latest version automatically with no need to install updates.
And you need to read version numbers better since that's pretty obviously version 1.01, not 1.1.
Ah i thought 1.01 was 1.1, sorry for the inconvience (:
ok, i fixed the version 992 problem.
however, another problem has arisen.
I have an uncountable number of
File: C:\Users\Crackcase\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.1\SoGE R996 Reb - CORE\Galaxy\Huge Multi-System Random Map Dispersed Planets.galaxyLabel: moveAreaRadiusLine Number:165Line Contents: connectionStarRadiusRange .75
errors.
Don't run the game in the developer.exe, or if you do, edit your settings file to set "Show Errors" to FALSE.
ok, I just run it from my recent steam programs from start menu
edit: Ok, I had enabled showerrors in my txt. thanks.
Congrats on the new wiki, it look very professional.
@Liazarr. Latest version is 1.1.4480
Also, don't use the in game menu to set up the mod, instead edit the enabledmods txt yourself (located in the mods folder). For all races enabled mine look like:
TXT Version 0
enabledModNameCount 6
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - Alliance"
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - CIS"
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - CORE"
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - New Republic"
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - Vong"
enabledModName "Soge Beta Reb - Republic"
* Note, there should not be any gaps between lines (these gaps here are because of the site), and, I only play the SVN version, so if your using the main download version I am not sure of the structure-tell me which folders are present.
And, Lavo, with the patch for greater hull and shields, what type of increase, generally, are we looking at? ( ie x1.5, x2)
