I figured out how to add as many races as I want to my m0d and only load the assets when the stackable race is applied.
Help me out with who should be allies and enemies with who please. You can click the link to that races table and copy the table to the post or any quick notes are also good.

@ Sparda: It will be a while before I need to start asking for assets. Importing and testing what I already have will take quite a while. I am currently going through almost 1000 music files so I can have different music and not get bored while testing.

The models for a handful of the ships are the same models however; it's all about resize.

So what is the plan for gathering the components for this mod? Are we going to combine many of the already existing mods (with credits of course) or just use the assets of them? And HOLY CRAP the balance issues! This is going to be one fun project, if we all can pull it off...
What races do you think we will need new ships built for? This is a large scale project, so an organized approach will help my sanity
Nice logo, btw... but it needs an image association.... like the rebellion fist has. I may work with that first, just to get back into the groove.
After that, I will research the other races, because I likewise don't recognize all of them.
And as far as my own race.... I have drawn out a race for myself and built a few of the ships, but haven't got much farther than that. We could make a race that is a human deviation of the Advent, with sexy, shiny ships.
EDIT: You may want to contact some of the other mod teams, and get some collaboration going too.
I would start with models we know are not available. I have not seen Homeworld models anywhere but I have not looked for them yet. People are sharing some on the net, we just have to look before we bother from scratch. Like I said, it will be a while before I need models because I am tearing apart the main game to use as little assets as possible without any add-ons enabled. Making templates for the different races UI and icon sets. Tons of music and sounds I a collected need to be sorted and renamed. You can start asking for permissions if you like as you are the projects lead modeller. Once you get a model done in 3ds I can hardpoint it and get it in-game if you like.
For balace I think that Vasari now are the OP and Advent is weakest so I thought I would try to balance with TEC. With Amarr though, they use high poly models so we cant use that many so one Abbadon should kill 3 TEC caps and the Abbadon uses more fleet supply so the AI cant overbuild.
I am open to image association suggestions. I was trying to think of a good 1 that fits the name but am drawing a blank.
EDIT: think of a name for your race so I can start adding the links to the templates. Or any other race we need. I already have a sister race for advent started called BEntuzi.

I will let you tear into the game and remove all the components that you can. I will look into using other mods assets and gathering model files together.
Will you be making all the icon, research and UI assets? I could possibly help on that front as well.
And I agree with the balance build. However, we will need to see what rebellion will bring. I am assuming we will be making this for the rebellion expansion?
If we set the relationships up in a spreadsheet, I could write some code that would generate the relationships lines that could then be merged back into the original player file easy peasy. Would make tweaking starting relationships easy too.
Basically your base Player[Race].entity template file would have raceRelationsModCount set to 0 then run a script and generate the actual GameInfo file using your spreadsheet and templated player entity file.
I'm also considering converting my mod over to your Sins of the Creator format once your ready.
Also, Even if a mods not completely balanced against TEC you could ally yourself if the opposing race is too Strong or lock multiple teams against you if the opposing races are too weak (ala Borg).
If you want to help with icons would be great. Just dont use the stock sheet as I am making a new UI template for them.
I like to use render shots to make them. es should be easily moved to rebellioon

I was thinking of a human race that was all about elegance and style... And money. Basically TEC but with synergy in abilities and disables like Vasari, coupled with the graceful look of the Advent. I'll have to upload my sketches to start with.... but that can wait for now.

It is actually the race that I was going to be forming in the DS lore. Right now it is just the Sivtherium Sect, but it would transform into a collection of TEC and Advent. So there is the name... Sivtherium Corporation or SivCorp for short.

OK I looked at the Klingon page:
1) Klingons HATE Romulans, should be -2 not -1
2) Cardassians also have a longstanding fued with Klingons, at least -1
3) I think the Klingons would actually be neutral to the Vayger, both warlike species and conquerors.
4) I think they would be neutral to the TEC because I think they would respect the fact that they could build a defensive force from scratch and repel an invader, even if they are normally a bunch of sissy traders.

EDIT: After looking over the available mods that are implemented for Sins, It looks like there may not be too much modeling needed for the bulk of the races. Star Wars is covered, Star Trek is covered, and some of the Battlestar universe is covered.
The only problems I foresee are filling all the ship roles and BUILDINGS! Will we need to build different buildings for every race? I'm fine with that, and it probably should be done.... but dam that's going to be some work.
EDIT2: Another thought.... The races that are being added, will there be enough assets to complete them? Or should some of them be combined (if they are allies within their worlds) to make the mods? Just brainstorming on the HUGE scope of this project, and how to make the most of it.

The EVE and X3 icons I cant see using unless you have a suggestion. Maybe on somewhere on the start screen? I was using the companies logo in the top right of the races web page just to show user unfamiliar with the race where they are from and it links to the companies website.
We can start with making a new Logo_Diplomacy.tga (Diplomacy\Textures) for each race that will load a new logo for each race depending on the top most race add-on. All can have their own look and texture or a standard look for all, I'm open.

@Theo: Dont give up. It will be a long long time before this is ready and no rules about the same mod by different people.
The X3 ships will come when they come. If you are in such a rush, learn how to import them with that tutorial I linked you to a while back.
Vectored Artwork is art made by math. All the images posted can be resized to be the size a pen point, or a building.
I'm working on a load screen now.... I will upload when it is mostly done.

Where would yo use that in-game? Do you want to cover the moving background system at the game start?or the game loading screen?
