(It might be that 'Retro' will be upgraded - I have it on my to-do list.)
Anyone consider that maybe THEY don't WANT their classics updated, upgraded, redone or whatever? I mean, they're not capable of updating their blinds if THEY so chose? I seriously doubt that! Seems sometimes what the community or fanboys (bet y'all haven't heard that term in a while...) want and what the skinners want to do with their work doesn't always coincide...
I, for one, would love to see 'Retro' updated....another great skin! But I also understand about time ...or lack thereof.
Over the years there have been some who haven't wanted them 'redone', but also others who were OK with it.
All ANYONE has to do is ask.
Preferably FIRST....
I'd love to see some of 'em updated myself...hell, I'd love to update 'em!, only thing is if the original style, feel, magic, whatever is preserved as the blind's original creator intended it. I've seen remakes of greatness go to some mutant, awful, piece of crap that had no resemblance whatsoever with the original work. Just turn on the TV or go watch a "new" movie as good examples....
Perfect example...the Star Trek remake. Zero resemblance to the original. In plain english...it sucked!
I use minimalist skins (or none) but I show off teh radically different ones to people new to WB.
I "sold" teh hell out of WB back in the day by having Aquarium (with the swimming fish in teh title bar) always ready to apply.
I've done several updates for XP years ago and MikeB for example was thankful someone took the challenge. Also think Treetog won't say 'no' if he likes what he sees, I guess. Stardock purchase skins is another story, if I remember right one has to write to Karmagirl for that.
