There have been a ton of great games already released this year, but we are just at the halfway point of 2011 and there’s still much more to come it seems. There’s a lot of PC games out there I want, but there are a few that are day-one purchases and ones I just can’t wait for.
Here’s my current list of my most wanted PC Games of 2011:
That’s my quick list, now let me know what are your most wanted PC games!
This with Star Wars The Old Republic and Sword of the Stars 2 are the three games I may just buy (already pre-ordered Rebellion).
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Number 1 was so great. Amazing gameplay and what an athmossphere...
The Elder Scroll: Skyrim - I loved Morrowind. Beside many, many hours of fun playing the game... I met some people on the ubisoft/mw forum, who are until now some of my best RL friends. One of them is my live-in girlfriend now for over 3 years and one we have lost to damn f***ing cancer. Sry for this personal statements, but this is The Elder Scroll for me. Something really personally.... Can you imagine how disappointing Oblivion was?
Elemental: Fallen Enchantress - its true. And only a little bit of bootlicking. I always was a big fantasy fan and i love the TBS genre...
EDIT/
But i have a constant fear of disappointment for all these 3 games. Lets hope for the best.
Battlefield 3 will hopefully make it to my PC someday after it's released although i really don't want to make this game have to suffer at the hands of my dual core processors. Maybe once I get a quad core that can handle it better I will get it.
I am also keeping an eye on COD MW3, lets see if they don't screw this one up too.
I'm still hoping diablo 3 will see a 2011 release!
Something good. [caveat, in a genre I am interested in, so no matter how great whatever FPS or RTS is going to be, I'm not going to get it anyway]
Haven't seen anything to get my hopes up though.
Crossing my fingers for that as well.
Otherwise, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and The Old Republic for me. I don't think Rebellion will make a 2011 release.
Lantros: May I ask: Sorta off thread - forgive me.. but you have actually played skyrim? I played Mirrowind, loved it. Oblivion
((BTW... just watched an old episode of Sanctuary - sci fi - where the doc and tesla - the vampire - go explore an ancient tomb- reawaken the queen of the vamps.. and saw that the oblivion language was the typeface used on the monuments!))
anyway, oblivion was OK, but spent most of my time with mods... most recently the pirate adventure. How much bettter than Ob is Skyrim, and how much betrter than Mirrowwind (and tow expansions)... what 'sells' you on Skyrim?
edit: silly me.. yes, its not out yet..
I don't think The Old Republic will make a 2011 release either. I'm betting on January. Though I hope I'm wrong, I have a lot of vacation time in December.
Space Marine: Blood for the Blood God Emperor! Skulls for the Skull Golden Throne!
Deus Ex 3: Because we all want to be computer-hacking cyborg ninja assassin commandos.
Skyrim: Elder Scrolls, now with dragons.
@ElanaAhova
No, i haven´t played Skyrim. How could i? It isn´t released. Its just the hope of a similar good experience like i had with morrowind.
But i think, like so often .. Hope -> Reality ->
Skyrim: looks interesting
The Old Republic: very tempting
Elemental: Fallen Enchantress: i've lowered my expectations so hopefully i'll be pleasantly surprised
Diablo III: not sure I'm going to like this one
Tropico 4: didn't even know this was in production. i really liked Tropico 1 and 2, but was not a fan of 3.
Heroes of Might and Magic VI: why not? i've purchased and enjoyed the first five in the series.
Mass Effect 3: still torn on whether or not this is my kind of game... perhaps i should buy Mass Effect 1 on Impulse for cheap and try it out
Actually, you'll be more likely to make a decision if you play 2. Exactly like Dragon Age 2, Bioware "stream-lined" the game. Some consider it leaps and bounds better. Some... don't. I personally haven't had enough time to put into 2 to tell you one way or the other.
I'm sort of astonished that Sword of The Stars 2 isn't on more people's lists, given the games Stardock make anyway. But yeah, way at the top is SotS 2, then Skyrim, Serious Sam 3,... and thats about it (hey thats a lot of S's). I'd agree with Diablo 3, but there's no way that it is making 2011.
Which MMORPG do you think will get made first?
A. World of Starcraft?
B. World of Diablo?
C. World of Galactic Civilizations?
Battlefield 3- Finally a Battlefield game better than BF2! Day one on PC!
Deus Ex Human Revolution- The leaked beta (which is a few month old build) I watched on youtube conformed its going to be great! (well for me) Music, atmosphere, details (weapon mods change how weapons look, I like!) and you can screw around just like in the original. (Only Boss fights I'm worried about but really that's it...) Also there are already funny videos floating around (no real spoilers but just people screwing around)here- "
and here too - http://youtu.be/zYpuzHyEY8Q (videos being wierd so heres a link)
Sins Rebellion and Sword of the Stars 2- More Sins never hurt nobody... or does it! And more space games the better! (SOTS2 is looking really good!) RELIC better announce Homeworld 3 in August!
Fallen Enchantress- Just got back from vacation and read the new journals and oh boy! Also its free if you own Elemental (tanafres- Ya I forgot that good catch, you had to own Elemental before the cut off date which ended late fall- early winter I can't remember exact date either in order to get Enchantress free), so you can't really complain!
Skyrim and Diablo 3- More awesome RPGS please! (hope Diablo makes 2011).
TOR- Well I have tryied other new MMO's and got burned (thank god some have trials). I hope TOR is good. (Still kinda pissed at DA2...) Yes I am still playing EVE (though right now just skill training but in august Faction Warfare time).
ME3- But thats now 2012 POOP!
It would be, but I've heard SotS2 will require DX10. If so, then it is hard for me to be excited as I have XP and therefore lack access to DX10.
Fallen Enchantress is only free if you bought E:WOM before the cutoff (I pre-ordered long before release, so I don't recall the actual cutoff date).
This!
Also following the dev over at the Kerb forums and I'm kinda 'meh' about it now. I love SotS1 to death, and while innovation is great, and I respect Kerb tremendously, I need to see it first, before I go hog wild. They are making some changes, and they are adding a boat load of new features I just don't really know if I'll like.
I'm getting really picky these days, but, hell it's my time, so I want to spend it well.
Sword of the Stars 2 will be the greatest 4x game in existence until Galciv3 comes out...
Everything else is a distant second.
I'm waiting to see if Deus Ex: Human Revolution is going to be good. However, when the developer lists "Mouse and Keyboard controls" when talking about PC "features", one begins to worry.
Battlefield 3 should also be quite good, however again I'll wait and see. At least PC Gaming have one FPS series that isn't afraid to maintain some level of PC Focus.
Sword of the Stars 2. There are other games I am looking forward to, but they have not announced a release date or are slated for next year.
It's not on mine because I LOATHE the UI in SotS 1 and it's a constant fight to put up with it. If they improved that, I'll be interested. If not, then not a chance.
Tanafres - You get FE if you bought WoM in 2010.
In no particular order:
Torchlight 2, Might and Magic: Heroes 6, Elemental: Fallen Enchantress, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm (won't be released until 2012), Diablo 3 (won't be released until 2012), Mass Effect 3 (won't be released until 2012).
The E3 demo got leaked to the Internet. From what I've heard of it DX3 actually looks like it will be a good game.
There are so many interesting games coming out in 2011, that it's hard to keep track of them! My list:
1) Deus Ex: HR - for the reasons mentioned above.
2) SotS II - ditto
3) Sins: Rebellion - ditto
4) Heroes of Stalingrad - Sure BF3 looks awesome, but I think I am slightly more interested in Tripwire's new WWII shooter.
6) BF3- but of course, but I am worried about system specs.
7) Wargame: European Escalation - Eugen Systems said that this new old-school wargame just might make it out the door in 2011, so fingers crossed!
8) Xenonauts - screw the new XCOM, this is the only real choice for fans of Microprose's classic game!
9) Starfarer - Don't know if this indie game will make it to v1.0 by the end of the year, but it certainly sounds like it is going to be super-entertaining game of trading and fleet warfare!
