Basically this is for all the players that wish they could of been in the first dominion 3 game and missed the chance or had some bad luck and were knocked out of the first game.

What to do next?
Well make some pretenders and try them in SP to get a feel for what your about to be playing. Otherwise once we hear from tophat someone will create a game on llamaserver and instructions on joining will follow.
I've got no issues with ghostwes joining either, that would give us 8, which seems like a great number. So, Tophat? Waiting on you man

I think his advice would be stay away from large, man-eating giants and demon monkeys.

I think doing some research into the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents and planning battles accordingly goes a long way. Not so much with Hinnom, as they apparently do not have any weaknesses (which does not speak well for balance in Dom3 IMHO).

Yeah, don't rush, let's shoot for having the game up on Thursday, and pretenders submitted by Friday.
As to nation choices...
Well the 'straightforward' nations are most picked. I'd say if you want to go with a big bless strat take mict or Kalissa. Marverni has cheap temples and a decent spread of paths on mages. Others, I'm not overly familiar with, or don't think they are 'easy' for a new player. However, nothing in this game is 'easy' really, so best bet is to just pick the nation who's theme appeals the most to you, and run a few practice games for ~12 turns with different pretender/scales to see how you like them.
Are you going to generate a random map? Parganos or the Desert Eye are both decent sizes for our gang of 8, and both are default maps so no one would have to worry about DLing anything. Urraparrand also is reasonable, a bit larger perhaps with more sea, but mah, anything is cool with me, and thanks for helping out wonderlos
I was planning to make a random, but I can take a look at those two maps. It might be easier to find balanced starts on one of the default maps. My main goal will be to give plenty of breathing room between caps, and secondly try to make sure no one gets stuck on a swamp or wasteland surrounded by more swamp and wasteland.
But.... sssssome of ussss like sssswamps! Ssss!
The game gen doesnt do too bad with that. I like to change the colors though (I like my plains to be green) and I like less water and more mountains (more chokepoints)

Elana, your goal should be a Jarl every turn as soon as you set the economy to manage that.
If you get there, then I wouldn't worry about losing in 15 turns, I'd worry about everyone having to gang up to stop you
I vote for a stock map, if only because I find the random maps beyond ugly.
I already made a random map and set the starts. I have to convert it to tga so I can upload it to the llamaserver site. When I get it done this evening, I will go ahead and set up the game. I will stick with default settings for gem sites, indies, etc.
edit-Looking into things, I find that spaces in file names are a no-no. That might be why the map would not upload. I had assumed it was the format.
Can you please turn ON renaming?
Not sure if anyone would have an issue with that, but it does help cut down micro a bit with searching for your correctly pathed mages.

jarls are way too expensive.... i don't think i will hire many of them, except to guard my leaders.... they really are way to expensive... hire one a turn? not sure - the resources are (literally) out of this world. I'm looking for ways to get a decent dominion going without using very many jarls.... besides their 'blue' aura clashes with my pretrender's accessories.
Hey, can I loan some jarls out to my allies?
