So...
Just a heads up on this little mini-problem we're having. I'll probably have Internet access again before Friday, but may not. I was planning on submitting this turn and then checking in again on Friday to do the next one... But it looks like I may not be able to do this one before I'm back out of Internet-land.
However this situation is resolved, could we make sure the next hosting time is after Friday? Thanks!
Just to update everyone, I am in touch with llamabeast, but no definite solution yet. Do not worry about taking a new turn. There is a decent chance that anything you might do would have to be redone.
On that note, most email clients save a copy of your sent attachments. You can just resend the 2h file you sent last time.
That is probably the case, and that might be what we try first. I have not heard back from llama since our first exchange, and my most recent PM has not been read. If everyone just want to resend their turn 47 .2h files, we could see if everything processes normally. The turn could be postponed 24 hours to make sure everyone has time.
Is that how you guys wants to do this?
Turn resent in. if anyone wants an extension, is fine by me.
edit: I am stuck. Twice i have requested the llamabeast 'resend' my turn, twice i have redone the move, and sent it abck to llama server. It has told me I have sent the wrong turn number in. I'm lost. Have no idea what to do now, nor how to address this? Others have had their turns accepted by the server, so it must be an error on my part? - Lost in the belly of the beast.
edit; wonderloss; I just sent turn results for both turn 47, and t48.....maybe 'one' will take. was surprised that server sent out tueen file, and then rejected the results of running THAT turn... lol.
edit: beast liked it this time....
Are you receiving turn 47 from the server? Are you deleting the .2h file from your save game folder before taking the turn? Does your email archive your old emails? Did you try resending the email that you had sent previously?
Does the error message mention turn numbers, or does it just say wrong turn?
I'm off everyone!
See you all in a week.
So llamaserver does not like any turn file I send in.
No idea why
What kind of errors are you getting, shadow?
All the questions I asked Elana apply to you. I will be out all day today. I will go ahead and postpone so you do not stale.
Elana, what did you do to get your turn to work?
I wipe my directory.
I get llama to resend the turn (it says 47)
I do it, submit it, and 'wrong turn file'.
I resend the last 3 turns I've sent in for this game and 'wrong turn file'.
Nothing seems to make it happy.
Hey shadowtougue, that is one finicky llamabeast... so picky and persnickety about what it eats..... It did not 'like' the turn i sent it based on doing the turn file it send me under a 'please resend turn,' command. Weird. Fortunately, i have the previous turns saved in my email folder on the web. (I made a game specific folder and whenever i get an email from llama, for that game, I first download it to my hard drive, and then I move the email file to my game folder in the email account.) It looks like llamabeast 'liked' the previous turn to the one it sent me in response to the 'please resend turn' command.
Hope this helps to get the turn the beast likes... and perhaps keep old turns handy for future problem resolutions.....
Well, I've tried resending the old turns, but it didn't like them either.
I don't know if there is a solution besides just having me stale.
How bad is a stale for you at this time? Not that it is a good thing to happen. I guess if you are not at war with anyone, that is not as bad. You would lose a turn of forging and research, though. I imagine that is pretty significant.
Llamabeast does not appear to have read the last PM that I sent. I am really not sure what to suggest. Maybe everyone except you could stale the next turn to balance it out?
Assuming everyone agrees, you could force host turn 47 without your turn. Then, you submit your turn 48 and force host again.
What does everyone think about that?
Nah, I don't want to force anyone else to stale. And I don't lose any research (just don't get to change it), though I do lose a turn of forging and ritual, which is slightly annoying, but not crippling in any way.
On the other hand, are we waiting for louist for the *next* turn anyway? Meaning we can wait and see if llama comes up with anything.
In the meantime I've sent in another 10 turns from various places, but nothing seems to work.
Bizarre that I can't even get the resent turn to work, which makes me think there may be more going on with this than just this turn, but we'll see one way or another I suppose.
heh...
well 20th time is the trick I guess
no clue, but it went
Though I did get hit with a stale, and we're on turn 49???
Well maybe everyone got hit with a stale, weird glitch.
Yes, I got a stale and received turn 49, Llamaserver still shows turn 48. I really have no idea what is going on. The server may not accept turn 49 at this point.
Well, it's as I feared.
Llama still doesn't like the new turn.
This game appears to be broken, at least for me. Hopefully llama will be able to take a look at it and figure something out.
Alternatively we roll back to 46?
I dunno.
I am not sure a roll back will help. I think the program that handles incoming turns and passes them to the dom3 host are no longer in sync. The server, which we could see from the web site, thought it was on turn 47 while the program was on turn 48. The server would not accept turn 48 .2h files. When the game received the turn 47 files it hosted, and everyone stale because the turns were not for turn 48.
Even if we roll back, we could still end up with the two systems out of sync. I think what really needs to happen is for the host to be rolled back to turn 48 and for the server and the dom3 host to get back into sync. I do not know if that can be done or not. Unless I get a response from llamabeast, I am sure it will not happen.
received now turn... said it was 'stale.' If the llamabeats has everything out of sync.. and it isn't likely to be 'fixed' soon... might we all agree to take an extended vacation from this game, until the server 'likes' us again? In all honesty, its getting rather frustrating....
edit. sent most recent turn... its wrong number again.
I respectfully ask for a sub to take over this position. I am unwilling to continue
edit OPK, skip sub... two week delay to maybe 'fix' ga,e is OK w me.
The game will have to be put on hold until llama can get it repaired. You do not need to find a sub. It is unplayable for everyone right now.
The game has been postponed for about 2 weeks. Still no word from llamabeast. I PMed him at the Shrapnel site, and it lets you track when messages have been read. They still appear to be unread. I do not know if I would get an error message if I sent the PMs to a full mailbox, so I am not entirely certain if he has received them.
I made a post on the forum about the problem. Maybe that will get llamabeast's attention.
It worked!
Llama believe he has it fixed. The site has updated to turn 49. I believe turn 47 processed normally, which gave us the turn 48 we received in our email. Then, it got out of sync, and when turn 48 was processes, it was using turn 47 .2h files, so everyone stale. As such, I think it would be best if we all move forward using turn 49 where everyone has staled. I think that would be better than trying a rollback to turn 48. If anyone opposes this, let me know. For now, I am going to resend the turn to everyone to be sure that everyone is doing the correct turn. I will also reset the timer to 72 hours.
Hello guys and gals!
Ok, I'm back in regular Internet land for the foreseeable future. Looks like we've had an exciting week here. So the plan is to play turn 49? That works for me, I believe. After all, the forces of Abysia are just in the "getting mopped up stage."
