Basically this is for all the players that wish they could of been in the first dominion 3 game and missed the chance or had some bad luck and were knocked out of the first game.
Guidelines:
1) yea,its a noob game,so lets see if we can keep it to under 10 MP games played. Naturally exceptions can be made hence the guidelines category. just please be honest and state your experience level upfront.
2) We'll vote on a map to use and what mods if any.
3) Feel free to suggest away here,I'm just starting the bandwagon not trying to be the band leader.

Methinks what Caelum means is that he would like us to release our elephant squad from their contract and allow them to be hired by Caelum instead. I have no objection to this in theory, but I think I should warn you that the elephants are, ummm, not in the pristine condition they were in when we hired them. They have served us well, though.
Fear not, we maintain these borders as much for your protection as the mammoths. In days of old, entire nations were stamped flat. We'd hate to see that happen again!
Using the all-eras mod, you could have over 60 players in one game. Theoretically, you could have a number more by playing with user created nations, though there must be SOME upper limit. A game like that would last years, and likely set a turn limit of 30 days a month or two in. In all honesty, though, something like that is bound to implode well, well, well before the end. It's hard getting all of us coordinated and putting in a turn every 24 hours. Doing that with 60 people would be next to impossible.
Dominions does receive some love and patches a few times a year, though the devs aren't working on a new Dominions at the moment. Illwinter is a small hobby company, and it's members all have regular day jobs, from what I understand.
The Marverni haven't disappeared into history just yet. The C'tis horde,Sauromatica migration and the Abbysia expansion have us a might hemmed in now. But we certainly have been busy in our labs.
Quantity is a quality all its own........
Never underestimate the role of the spoiler................
One or more of you three is going to take the chance......I believe i have a fair idea of who it will be........then the fun starts.
A truly massive host of Sauromatians has been spotted on the borders of our mammoth nature preserve. For their own safety, the Eagle Kings ask that they step away from the fence. It's electric.
Well, we have to admit certain amount of panic within our nation - the thought of those powerful monsters that already stomped the nations in the past wandering aimlessly at our very border is causing tremendous fear in our simple citizens.
Being humbled by Mammoths pure power, so praised by the Eagle King we would never ever even dream of thinking that our small continent of defensive forces could worried such great empire; we are moving our troops immediately lest the Eagle King will have a sleepless night.
Ulm would like to remind the nations of this world that with the coming conflicts (which our immense scout network is positioned to observe) the need for more and better armaments is gong to become paramount.
At this juncture Ulm is still willing to deal with anyone, however, those who have already engaged in commerce and diplomacy with Ulm will be placed higher on the list. Ulm now has the capacity to forge Dwarven Hammers. Surely there is going to be an immense market for these, so if you are interested in one contact us to discuss terms.
Some Earth gems will be required from any nation requiring these modern day marvels.

Breaking news:
Sources close to the Peace ministry near the Smurfette's Palace have heard rumors. The only thing all the rumors agree upon is that a jarl scout was attacked by marauding flying beasts. "Aye, my lord," an attendant of the scout who was on the scene said, "we be just mindin' ou own business, and orderin' a we bit o' take out from the chicken roasters, and 'estead, we see thes flying things.. I sware, no mo' sauce fo' me.. and no more chicken...." As usual, the palace has issued no official statement. But if it looks like a chicken, and it walks like a chicken, and it squawks like a chicken, then hope it also tastes like chicken.
The Eagle Kings think this would be a fine moment to remind the world that they taste very much like spoiled rabbit. No reason to eat them. Nope.
The Ulm scout network sends news that the world is quickly losing it's stock of independent provinces. The oracles in their caves forewarned of this time. It will be a time of great deeds, and not so great deeds, and some mediocre deeds, as well as a few deeds which no one want to talk about because they upset the children. There will be deeds of valor and deeds of cowardice, deeds from the sky, deeds from the seas, and even deeds from a tree named Carl. Oh yes. There will be deeds. So many deeds that the word deeds will begin to lose all meaning to anyone saying it. Even thinking it. People will begin to wonder what a deed even is. Deeds deeds deeds deeds. There. See? Lost all meaning already.
What were we talking about again?
Well the requests for hammers are rolling in, but Ulm is almost always in a selling mood, so don't fret. If we can get your order in the queue, it will be finished as soon as our great E3 smith (some call him Tim) has the time to work on them. Right now he's out dropping a deed in the outhouse. Wait? Are you sure that's not what it means?
To C'Tis from the Marverni High Council:
Dear Mr.Lizard, you have met our expectations. We look forward to meeting you. We like the woods and are going to stay,go find a pond or large rock in the sun to bask on. STAY OUT OF OUR FOREST!
Silly Lizard, forests are not for you.......................................
How rude. And to think all I did was ask you to vacate a territory that a previous message had informed you I would be taking. Well, I would have rather kept the peace with you but if you want war with me that is fine too.
This is probably a good time for another announcment to be made, however, I will leave that for them to decide.
War, Uhh.
What is it good for!
Absolutely nothing!
Uhhh....
Man, that Tim is having some issues getting that deed out.
Rude? Rude? You spread like a plague over the land, taking ever more and more and have the effrontery to call me rude? I shall teach you manners cold blooded reptile! Vile creature! Return to the swamp from whence you crawled forth!
Yes...WAR! Let the other stand back and have me do the dirty work of taking you down to size able to be tamed. lizard your time walking upon the land draws to an end.
****As an aside, telling me to vacate a province in a condescending manner when you have spread over all was bound to get this reaction from the druids. In effect you said to the Marverni: "Curse your gods, death to your king and spit in your mothers eye." There was no recourse but war to the death of one of our races. Nothing personal just in my High Druid persona and boy were they pissed!
Now I'm going to sleep and then a long drive. If the turn is done before i leave i'll get it back in before i go in the morning.
*** so you need an extension through Thursday?***
Well someone has to take out the trash. Ulm keeps their lands nice and clean though, no trash at all, we recycle everything! No need to come looking around here for any trash. No sir. Not at all.
I would hardly call spreading the good word of Inconnu to savages "rude". It is our god-given right, nay responsibility, to make lesser species like yourself aware of his/her divinity.
Yawn. So, shall we expect this attack any time in the next century? My troops grow bored waiting.
If your troops are bored I have some Death Gems you could... *acquire*. Reasonable prices. Oh yes. Quite reasonable. Final disposition of said gems is up to you, we don't do any preprocessing.
I've sent turn 18 in twice without a response from llamaserver. Anyone having similar issues?
I've now sent the turn in 4 times, with no response and no acknowledgment on the game's llamaserver page. Is it possible to push back turn 18's hosting while I send off an email to llamabeast?
I just got flooded with a ton of llamaserver emails. False alarm, I guess?
Update: Llamabeast informs me he was transferring the server to a new HD and OS, which required shutting down the server for a few hours. He'll be taking the server down briefly again some time tomorrow.
silence before storm ...
so unnerving
So....
Server is down again.
Not sure if Marveni is back or what, guess it doesn't matter if he cannot submit his turn.
Wonderloss, are there any alternatives to Llamaserver or is this game stuck with it? These crashes and delays are becoming quite common.
I do not think there is an easy way to migrate to a different server. Perhaps you could email llamabeast and ask him for the master turn file and whatever other files might be needed and go from there. You would then have to figure out somewhere else to host it. I am not sure it would be worth the effort.
On the one hand its simple to switch servers. Its done all the time. the server just zips up the entire game directory and sends it in an email. Its usually not very big. The other severs unzips it and runs it. Many servers offer to email the game zip to whoever is running the game automatically every turn so that they can move if the server loses connection.
The problem is going to be that I dont know of any other server willing to do it as a PbEM. The other servers all tend to be direct connect (plays more like a solo game). But you can always ask. At minimum there is usually an option for a compromise where the turns get emailed out, but turning the turn in is done by connecting to the server with Dom3 instead of email
interesting, very interesting.....its an option
