Nah, she's just resting her eyes.
Is C'Tis known as a bless nation? That surprises me. The sacred troops seem kind of crappy.
there's always debate, but EA C'tis is a nation which can effectively use a bless if that's their thing. Dancers are sweet with W9 (and you can take some air to offer some arrow protection), and many sacred summons and mages. Well W9 doesn't matter much to mages, unless you are thuging them.
Now I don't know what anyone did, but I do enjoy speculating. It's not beyond the realm of possibilty for C'Tis to take a bless. Certainly they are better with it than Caelum, in my opinion anyway
I suppose I should have put Sauro in there with the possible big blesses, but I'm not that familiar with them, and I don't like their blessable units that much compared to other stuff in their line up. Though to be sure, blessed cav is always a nice thing
can i make my hydras fly???
Just a wishful thinking ...
Do blesses only come from your initial Pretender paths or can you improve your bless by empowering your Pretender during the game?
You can make hydras fly! Well you need A2 mages to do it, but it's a strat other nations use with elephants/mammoths/behemoths. What you can do to your hydras is almost worse though, so I'm not going to tell you... yet
Blesses come only from the initial magic paths taken. Losing paths or boosting (empowering, same thing) them does not affect the bless at all.
If you have an air mage with the appropriate research, you can make your hydras fly.
Your bless is set at pretender creation. Increased paths due to empowering or decreased paths due to pretender death will not affect the bless.
I should note that an A1 mage can do it, but you have to spend gems for him to boost to cast it. Gift of Flight I believe is A2 and Ench2. Of course one cast only afffects one Hydra (the big ones, do you get the little ones too?), so you need multiple mages to handle more than one. Well one mage should handle 2 if they are set to hold and attack, but the targeting can be wonky, since your mage doesn't fly either, he may cast it on himself.
Also, if he's not poison immune the hydra will probably wind up killing him in the process. Yeah, it can be done, but it's a hell of a lot easier for Caelum to do to their Mammoths than for just about anyone else to do to anything else.
Oh damn... maybe I shouldn't have said that
louist doesn't read this thread anymore though
Shadowtongue, always happy to read your advice, etc.
The Astral Current
All the news you want just one projection away!
(Now available daily for only one astral gem a year)
In other News: Sages forecast trouble for Ulmian's abroad as serveral yet unnamed nations have taken offense at the Ulmite suggestion that some people just "suck" at crafting items. Tension rises as an Ulmite trader was seen being thrown into a reportedly vile bog by a mob of angry C'thisian locals when he tried to sell them magical hammers to build their "hovels" with.
Next up on the Astral Currents: Philosopher Nikoleaus and Sceptic Hera discuss the benefits of magical hammers on your life. Miracle or magic bean? You be the judge in our exclusive live debate!
Silly warmbloods mistake "anger" for "feeding time".
Besides, we live in the bog. Throwing a guest into the bog is our way of saying "welcome to our humble abode".
Sure, sorry just got home. Need to do this turn, edit forum and travel tomorrow. If next turn runs before noon EST I should make it in. Otherwise I will be back in town late Sunday night EST. Can I get a weekends extension until morning?
Initial post edited with nations and players!
Ah good,I will be home for the next turn#4 to do. So can we hold turn#5 until late sunday/early Monday?
Abysia offers no comment to the speculation regarding the persuasions, magical or otherwise, of our pretender Joe and his prophet Jake. It's not what you think, what with your "rainbows" and all. Joe's just an average guy, you know? And Jake his average demonbred heterosexual life partner. They like (hot) pizza, (hot) beer, and sacrificing blood slaves, just like anyone else. Sure, Joe's dabbled in some magic, but who hasn't these days?
Really, it's all these cursed lava-born hooligans running around, trying to make him their "Lord and Protector." "Oh great Joe," they grovel, "Our last leader Arges [from the Elementalists game] was so terrible. He just didn't understand what it really means to be an Abysian. He was too busy bashing things, and always looking at you with that single eye... They say he didn't even like lava baths! What kind of an Abysian doesn't like a nice, relaxing lava bath?"
All Joe ever wanted was peace and quiet, so he could do his horrible demon-breeding experiments (on weekdays only). And then maybe even take a nice lava bath in the afternoons... But no, forced into a leadership role, now he's become embroiled in a war for ultimate godhood. And if he doesn't fight, the Abysians are sure to get pummeled by some fleshy, puny, freezing-cold-loving nonsense race of pitiful eagle people or something. Sigh. What is the world coming to?
I will turn off autohost until you get back. So if turns come in the game will go, if they don't it will wait. Until Sunday, when I'll turn it back on again. If that works for everyone.
Breaking News: A diplomatic row has ensued between Ulm and Abyssia as Ulmite diplomats on the scene suggested the Abyssian dread overlord has a rainbow like persuasion when selecting mates. This escalation comes in an already heated episode of exchanges between the two as Abyssia contended the need for Ulmian magical hammers, a time tested tradition of Ulmite life. Critics are left to wonder: Why then the voracious appetite for virgins?
In other News: Ulmian trader not thrown into bog! Instead was fed to an impoverished houshold of lizardlings after trying to peddle magical hammers to the locals. Ulmite ambassadors have not yet commented on the tragedy as a C'this spokesperson proudly explained the event leading several nations to doubt Ulmite resolve in the face of looming conflict.
Next up on the Astral Currents: Abyssian succession in danger? Will the dread overlord ever spawn a brood? Philospher Ulyses shines a lantern onto the problem that is surely occupying the minds of all foreign policy managers, businessmen and virgin traffickers. Is there a danger of civil war in the case of an untimely demise? You be the judge!
Quickhost on means that the turn will host once all the .2h files are in, or at the deadline even if they are not on. If quickhost is turned off, the turn will not host until the deadline, even if all of the turns are in. However, it will still host at the deadline even if all of the turns are not in. If you are trying to delay hosting, that is best done by either changing the hosting interval or postponing hosting. Changing the hosting interval does not affect the current turn, but starts on the turn after it is changed. You then have to change it back for later turns. Postpone hosting affect the current turn only, and subsequent turns go back to the normal interval.
Yeah, I thought there was an 'auto' host (not quick host) which used the turn timer. There isn't, so I just put a big extension on this turn, but quickhost stayed on.
So if turns come in the game will still go.

It is expected, various heat loving nations are taking shots at the lowly Ulmish smiths. Understandable considering how difficult it is to remain in an even temper when it's just so damn hot outside. Cold blooded? Born in a volcano? Well, it's insane the excuses these lizards and lava people will come up with. In Ulm children are born in the middle of the forest on a winters night, given a putty knife and told if they can make it to 13 they can come in the village. A most civilized approach to child rearing. No eggs to sit on, no puddles of lava to clean up.
Shadow Noob rides the rainbow, there's no shame in that. Granted, he has a large retinue of Warrior Maidens, Steel Maidens, and Sword Maidens. to look after. No wonder the smiths are working overtime, banging out trinkets to give as gifts to all these excellent ladies. Just... well... it can get expensive keeping your harem happy. So Ulm would appreciate some understanding in these tough financial times (if you look at the gold table) and please stop eating our emissaries or throwing them in volcanoes. They are just out looking for a deal to keep the ladies back at home happy.
Ulm is thinking of hosting this years 'Rainbow Power' convention, so if you're interested drop an RSVP and we'll send the province details and cost once we're done dealing with some rogue elephants who keep crapping all over our nice forests.
Just sent in last turn so until Sunday........
OOC May I kindly request a 24 extension for this move (turn 4) as my interent is temporally down. I am arrainging a temporary workaround. I can do the turns via someone else's PC for a few days, should have permission, if I use a flash drive to transport the turn files back and forth. It will take a day to set it up. (I late afternoon tomorrow - Friday).
EDIT: BTW, the server says the next turn is due by july 19th. Have i misunderstood, or missed something?
kindest regards, -elana
wow good luck i had issues finishing the game on a largest map and to make matters worse i was the ashen empire, last AI was mainly an underwater one in the south western sea and a tiny bit of land there too, my demigod got insane 23 even though undead and lich queen not sure how it also effected most of the other undead commanders as well. forget what they were.
No, I screwed up pushing out the date to accommodate tophats trip, but yeah, you have plenty of time to do turn 4
Once tophat is back we'll get back to the 24h host time.
Shadowtongue OoC) please, I fixed the internet situation, and have web access now... so no delay is now requested. Thanks for the consideration.
News updates...
Bureau Chief released from cooler, resumes duties.
Bizarre clergy death in neighboring province. Undisclosed sources inside the secretive clergy circle said that the lead candidate for High Priest was killed by savage tribes-creatures while leading services for our brave soldiers. Apparently, a band of slingers loosened giant icicles atop the beloved cleric's "port-o-grotto" TM and these icicles fell and pierced him. Story could not be confirmed because source is not permitted to issue public announcements.
Inside investigative reporter promises expose of new trend in advertising; Product placement.
Sorry for that massive delay (23 hours!) on turn four. Slipped my mind this morning, and I completely forgot after that
Another question. OT the server there is a set of statistics for our game. Does the set referring to research mean
1) total research accumulated this game, or
2) research done in previous turn?
if its just last turn's research - its scary ...
