It's time to begin a debate about Orgovs.
They are severely overpowered. Either the damage they do needs to be reduced by, say, 50%, or they need to have their speed cut in half or some combination of reduced speed and damage. I just saw a guy use them to hit-and-run, raiding and killing enemy structures with almost complete impunity. (I'm not blaming him for doing what the game allows, I'm just pointing it out.) They should either do less damage than they do now, or, if they are going to be powerful anti-structure tanks, then they should move slowly. Their purpose should be jump in and gang bang a starbase in mass or to clean up after a winning battle. No other race has a unit that can single-handedly destroy structures all over the map (with just a couple units) while being able to easily run away from pursuers, avoiding them by jumping from well to well.
As they stand now, Orgovs are severely overpowered and have made TEC the top race by a wide margin.
Or have a couple of fighter-carriers follow the Ogrovs, maybe. Carriers are pretty slow, though, and you probably don't want to take them too far away from your front lines.
The main issue I have with carriers is that I think we are talking about a situation where you are caught off guard...this may mean you are scrambling units from your fleet or having to quickly build new ones and then dispatching them to a location several jumps away...
If you are building new units, the carriers will need time to build fighters...and constant jumping is only going to make matters worse since you'll have no AM for construction...
If you are sending ships you already have built, I'd prefer LFs...carriers are more important to fleets, I'd like to keep them at full AM, and they are slower than both scouts and LFs...
On the other hand, SC themselves move fast, so if you can get to the grav well quick enough the ogrovs can't even do tricks to avoid fighters...after all, fighters move faster than scouts...
And scouts are also cheaper than carriers or hangars. It's a tradeoff; a scout "squadron" is more likely to actually catch Ogrovs that are doing hit&run if they have to chase them down.....but God help the Ogrov flotilla that jumps into a well garrisoned with a TON of fighters.
