I have seen this discussed here a few times, and purchased it recently. I think some others might as well. If there is enough interest, I could start a PBEM game on llamaserver. Info on llamaserver can be found here.
Newbie--5 or fewer MP games. Can be adjusted if needed if there is not enough interest.

I love it when a mage decides that he knows better than his pretender what spells to cast and turns a simple victory into a rout.
Exactly - like that last battle with Lanka. Where is that Fire Arrows spell I ordered? Nowhere in sight. My elite mage has decided he will try something more elaborate, and knocked himself out. And those arrows that should have been a flaming infreno of death for enemy undead just harmlessly rattled against the bare, bleached bones. Dear Ezekiel spent most of the battle unconscious too - but what a surprise, I got a message after the battle that he has a son, a Nephilim commander. One never ceases to be amazed.
But it was a mighty, epic battle, even though I lost.
Yea, the battle was truly epic
The best picture of a battle was Nephil: a huge giant totally naked with a dangling manhood in the middle of carnage. Thanks to all gods, the darkness was used, otherwise even my undead hordes would fail and run for their life ...
Some of my spells also did not trigger, and i do not know why as well ...
I am going to be out of town this weekend, and unlikely to be able to grant any last minute extensions. If anyone thinks they will need more time, let me know in the next 20 hours or so.
Bad news - my private life is getting suddenly complicated, and i am running out of free time altogether ...
I was really willing to step in for Lanka and help you guys, but first, i did not know how much time you at this stage of game to do turns, and second some unexpected things happened in my life ... I am still able to make this turn and probably next, but it would be good if you guys start to look for a sub.
I am really sorry that i have to back out, but i have no choice either ...
Sorry to hear that, man, we were just getting started
I am looking for a sub for Lanka.
ok wonderloss, i think i can still make this turn, but that's it unfortunately - war with Hinnom is getting really interesting
Hylobius, from the Shrapnel forums, has offered to sub for Lanka.
Hi guys, I noticed your post on Shrapnel and I'm willing to sub.
Good to know :0
However, i have made this turn already so if you are interested Hylobius send me an email so i can email it to you ...
Wonderloss - i think also he will need some extension
it was a pleasure guys to play with you
I told him you were planning to do this turn, and he can take over next turn. I already switch the address on llamaserver.
No problem if an extension is needed.
I have the turn now, just need to download the map. Let me know if I have any agreements.
I just about had the turn done but it looks like the next turn has already processed and I staled.
I am not sure why it did not get postponed. I thought I had postponed it 24 hours. It caught me to.
I would like to announce that I officially resign. I simply cannot muster the will to play on. Last turn I had a plan that depended on my mage casting fire storm, while others will try to hold position. Even though he had enough gems to cast the spell, he chose not to. Therefore, I lost my most valuable elites. The spell that should strike half of the enemy fire vulnerable army killed just 374 of 1600+ troops. Few things ever work the way they supposed to, often for very obscure reasons. Please, try to find a sub for me too. I can keep sending moves, but I can no longer invest 3+ hours to every move I have been doing since now. I admit defeat and the fact that you are better players. Can I go now?
I have to say, with so many subs, my will to continue with this game is not what it was before. I am going to put the game on hold for right now. All of you other players, chime in and let me know if you want to continue. If you guys do want to, I will find a sub and keep going. If you guys are just getting in turns out of a sense of obligation, and are no longer having fun, then we can call it quits.
I would also have to add that I enjoyed playing against you very much. It was the botched middle/late game transition that sapped all my energy. I do not understand the subtleties of the game mechanics enough yet, and the sheer amount of wasted resources and time on experiments that just did not work resulted in really massive frustration.
My biggest gripe is how the game handles who will defend with PD in case of an invasion, and who will hide inside the castle. There should be a simple switch! The activity-dependence is ridiculous, I want to research, AND rush to defend in case of invasion, surely all my elite mages should not be turned into useless patrollers just because I don't want to watch my PD die for nothing! What a horrible design decision.
My other gripe is lack of templates and presets, with the necessity to rewrite scripts for the commanders again, again, again and again. Barrrrh! I hate it so much. The game could be so much better with a decent interface.
It looks like there is not much interest in continuing. I am out of town through most of next week. If I do not hear differently before then, I will declare the game finished when I return.
Well, my wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Wednesday, so my time available to play with virtual toy soldiers is sadly limited. . So if most of the others are considering resigning, then that is fine with me.
By the way, what happened with the war between Pangaea and Hinmom? I merely ask because I thought it might be a war to the death, which I thought would drag on for ages, leaving my western flank relatively secure so that I could attack Agartha in peace. There must have been some peace settlement, but how did that come about? Unless Pangaea was able to conduct wars against both me and Hinom, which I suppose wouldn't be to surprising since he had enormous armies of chaff and most of my dudes were running around in Agartha.
I am ending the game today.
To answer your questions, Hinnom surrendered. When I got Lanka (under the original player) to agree to a cease-fire, it spelled the end of Hinnom. I was able to turn around Hinnom's gains against me and ultimately hold him. Considering my large numbers of free troops and constant army growth, and Hinnom's population eating and expensive troops, I think time started to work against him.
Hinnom was going to try to finish off Lanka while I tried to conquer the eastern part of the world. I took the surrender, because the last thing I wanted was to let T'ien Chi get the eastern half while I was draining my resources in a prolonged war in the west. I especially did not want to be caught between TC and Lanka. I would like to have seen how our war would have finished up. Your air magic was forcing me to switch up my strategy.
I did enjoy Pangea. I think I will be giving them another try in a new game before long.
Would anyone here like to sub for Jomon in a Late Age newbie game? At the moment, I do not believe there is a clear leader. PM me if interested.
