At about 12.00pm today my son's partner gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Although they have been living with us since the floods, the little fella's birth weight and other details are a bit sketchy at the moment as they are stuck in Nambour, about 400km from here, due to a car breakdown. However, my son managed inform us that both mother and son are doing well and that they should all be home in a few days.
It's going to seem a bit strange having a newborn baby living in the house after so many years [like at least 30], but it is also so exciting and quite wonderful.... hmmm, I can't wait, tee-hee, tee-hee.
Well it's sort of original.... the other one wasn't #24.
Nah, I already done the hard work bit 3 times before, so this time I'm gonna leave the raisin' up bit to his mum and dad... while I sit back and enjoy.
awww congratulations POPS..........hehehehe
Maybe not.... but you make waaaaaaaay better icons than me.
Don't take that as a hint or anything.... I'm just sayin'
Thanks, kitster... and yeah, I imagine getting called pops soon enough. Bianca's two call me dandad, as do my daughter Romana's 3 young uns: Shilo, Dominic and Markus.
Anyhow, folks, my son called this afternoon to say that mother and baby are doing so well that they will be able to come home tomorrow afternoon... that's if they can get/keep the car running, which something Sherry's uncle says he should be able to do.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting them home for another few days, being the young feller was 5 weeks early, but Rob says that he has been breathing unassisted from word go, has a strong, steady heart beat and is quite lively and alert for a newborn. That is always great news for any parent, grandparent and I am grateful that there were no complications, as can sometimes happen with a premature birth
Oh, and I've decided, if Rob and Sherry can't agree on his name, I will do the choosing for them to save any arguments. I was leaning toward something musketeery, like Athos, Prthos or Dartanian, or something distinctly British and distinguished, like Percival or Lancelot, but I think my favourite has to be Heironymous... after the lead character in the 1960's movie 'Can Heironymous Merkin Ever Forget mercy Humpe and Find True Happiness.'
Yes, it was a real movie that.... oh, so you don't believe me, huh?.... well I'll have you kno.... orright, so now I'm a fibber, eh?.... right then, them could be considered fighting wo.. wor... wor... wor...words and... okay, go Google it yourself, then.
as promised here are some pictures of our daling baby grandson Jaraba, he was 5 weeks early, and will be a week old on tuesday 3rd may
Now there's a bit of "yum!"
He's a beautiful boy, Shaunna... congrats, and tons of joy from that little bundle!
