One of the shifts that happens when you have 25-85% off sales every week is that buyers will wait until a game goes on sale before they buy. What games are you waiting to go on sale? I'm waiting for Din's Curse, so I can buy a friend a copy.
The impulse deals have been like crack to me...I don't really wait for anything in particular, but if a good daily sale pops up, I snag it. I have sooo many games that have never been played, but how I can I pass up games for $4!!!
I wonder if Gamestop will continue that sort of thing? Didn't even think of that till now...
The sales also mean people might buy games they wouldn't normally be willing to try, due to the lower barrier to entry.
As for the question, Shogun 2. In large part because I don't have time to play it right now anyway.
I'm interested in Brink, on a sale. I might also pick up wotlk/cataclysm at some point (if there was something like 1 month time+both exps for 10 bucks).
As for Din's, the creator doesn't like it put it on sale.
One game I was waiting for a while- Shira Oka- got put on sale at Gamersgate, so picked it up there. I've never been picky between Impulse and Gamersgate except for DRM, and Shira Oka DRM can be removed after install and it runs fine (ok with that sort of DRM)
i w8 for bloodbowl sale
mass effect... i know it was on sale once before and i missed it... shucks!
I'm very cheap. I live in Canada and I wait for PS3 games to go on sale for $20. The two games on my radar are Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain.
With Raven X as well as other reviewers giving Shogun 2 positive reviews and remarks that the AI does not suck, I will keep an eye out for that game as well.
I'm also waiting for Batman: Arkham Asylum to go cheap on steam as well. Unfortunately I missed the deal a week or two ago when it was ~$7.
Mass Effect 2.
Dragon Age 2... I'm a patient person.
Crysis 2, Portal 2 (perhaps), Sword of the stars 2, Witcher 2, Deus Ex 3 (maybe).
Me too.
That has not been released yet and you have already determined to wait for a sale?
Aside from Crysis 2, there aren't any games that I want to own that I don't already own that are currently out...
So yeah, I know I'm going to get those games (assuming they don't end up being terrible) but I also know I'm going to wait until most are on sale.
I'm thinking I'll prob wait for the "gold" edition or w/e of Sword of the Stars 2 since I have a feeling they're prob going to release a number of expansions.
Not crysis.
There are two planned expansions, and based on how much those for the original game improved it they will be worth the full price.
I only want to buy games that have one of the following:
This only applies to Steam as I don't buy from anywhere else with exception for games that Steam doesn't have
Games I will buy if they're REALLY cheap. 5 euro MAX, though it's doubtful even then.
I'm waiting to see Mass Effect 1 and 2 on sale. I've already beaten the first, but I don't have the game myself, so I'd like to play through it and the second.
I'd say $10 is the max I'd pay for those, though (each). I'm already backlogged as it is.
How could I be expected to pass up $6 for Sword of the Stars Complete the other day. Damn you, Impulse sale popup!
I was waiting for Shogun 2, but managed to grab a deal and get it for free when I bought a new cpu for my computer.
Mass Effect 2 on sale.
I wonder if the marketing people at Impulse read these threads. I remember Mass Effect 1 went on sale after a thread was started about it.
Steam's got it for $10 this weekend, glad to see one of us gets their wish!
Din's Curse is on sale, the OP should be happy.
All of them that don't offer a hard copy that can run without an internet check.
Too much pink... it burns!! Oh, and I didn't see a sale.
I think I'll be holding out for Civ V to sell real cheap. Bought Civ IV + all the expansions for like $7 and it did not disappoint.
Ack! Missed the Din's Curse sale. Serves me for trying to focus on classwork.
