UPDATE: The tourney is over. Orcun and Renz are the winners!
For those of you that do not know, we are currently running tournaments every 2 weeks for 2v2 and 3v3 competition. Some of the tournaments will be for cash prizes. Others will be just for fun. See the schedule below and sign up. I’ll open a new post for each and every tournament.
What is the schedule?
We will have a tourney every 2 weeks – so put it on your calendar and plan accordingly.
What are the rules?
Each tournament will have varied rules. They will be announced approximately 1 week before the tourney begins. Here are the rules for the upcoming practice tournament.
What is the prize?
Payouts will be delivered by paypal. If you don’t have a paypal account, get one. If you can’t get one, then you need to make arrangements with your teammate. If you can’t do that, then you will not receive a payout for the cash prizes if you win. If you do win, provide me with your team’s paypal addresses via pm on these forums and we will get you sorted in short order. If the needed paypal email addresses have not been provided in 1 week, the prize money is forfeit and will be added back to community tournament prize pool. Cash is rendered via paypal in US dollars. If you are from another country, the conversion is provided by paypal. Any fee charged by paypal will come directly out of your winnings (so its possible the winners could receive less than the listed payout).
Additional information about the community prize pool: once the funds run out for the pool, we’ll solicit contributions from the community and see if Stardock is willing to contribute again.
If you haven’t registered on the Jee sites yet, just follow these 3 simple instructions below. You’ll still need to register for tournaments, etc, but this will get you added to the system. You only need to register and setup your account 1 time (eg you don’t have to do this ever again)
How do I form a team on the JeeLounge Site?
How do I register for the tournament?
What is check in?
We use a process called check in for our tournaments. The purpose of check in is so that we know that teams that registered for the tournament are actually ready to play their games. We also use the check in process so that only teams indicating that they are present are placed on the brackets. This makes it much easier to get the tournament started (instead of waiting around and hoping your opponent shows up). Be aware that even if a team has registered for a tournament, if they do not check in, they cannot participate in the tournament. The check in period is 45 minutes before the tournament starts.
How do I check in?
What do I do the day of the tournament?
How do I report my wins?
Thankfully, we have not had a need to disqualify any teams yet during our tournaments, but here are the ground rules.
Pushing it back 2 hours I'd say is the sweet spot, unless there's a lot more people signed up for the next one. Ppapanek I think is Russian and the time didn't work for him either, he wanted to play but showed up like half an hour late.
Lol
Here are the dg selection rules for the upcoming 3v3 cash tourney.
I haven't decided what the cash payouts will look like yet. There will at least be a prize for 1st place. I'll look over the total money we have left in the community pot and make a decision in the near future. Right now, I'm thinking we will have 2 more cash tourneys before we'll run out of prize money, but we'll see how far I can stretch it.
We'll back up the tourney's start time 1 hour to 1PM EST.
I like the rules, i bet darkliath will do so as well.
I thought as much. Orcun - make sure you pm jongalt with your paypal info soon. He said he has not received it yet.
Been really busy lately, so sorry for the delay. If possible, I'll open up a the new tourney thread tomorrow with the prize amounts, etc. I think we'll still have a 2nd place prize of $10 per person, but not sure about the 1st place prize, yet. I'll start reaching out to SD in the near future to see if they will be willing to sponsor some future tournaments.
Also - after hearing orcun going on about how impressed he was with papp's team from the night before the tourney, I'm really sad they didn't participate in the 2v2. In my crazy mind, I actually think da/erb is the strongest 2v2 combo there is as long as the da/erb are playing together very well. The spam damage along with stuns is crazy. But really, you have to be completely on your game to pull it off... but GOOD NIGHT if the da hits level 15 with no deaths. I've tried several times with trouser and a few other folks, but we've never hit that level of perfect timing with the erb/da combo.
But yeah the koreans are very very powerful and play completely different:)
let me know if you need any help with the tournament creation etc...
I'll let you know. Thanks again, kira!
ORCUN - get off your butt and send an email to jon with your pal pal info. He said he hasn't received anything from you yet.
Zen - did you already request payment? So far renz/pacov has been paid that I know of for sure.
Zen should have received his $
Prizes for the next tourney
Working on the new tourney thread now.
The new tournament page has been created - still need the jee tourney itself setup:

We will start this one at 2PM EST due to requests from some folks.
Kira - if you are a willing to create the tournament again for me, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I try to get it setup sometime this weekend.
