The time of Diplomacy is over. The length of the war and differing opinions on what should be done to bring the war to an end has led to a splintering of the groups involved. The controlling powers-that-be have depleted arsenals and seemed to have exhausted all efforts of diplomacy. Trapped in a stalemate, sub-factions have rebelled and broken off the main alignments. Rebellion is upon us.
The exciting next chapter in the awesome Sins of a Solar Empire universe has arrived. A full-fledged expansion to the original,Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion draws you even deeper into the galactic struggle for supremacy with appealing new factions, terrifyingly cool new ships of all sizes, enhanced lighting and particle effects for increased visual pleasure and all-new victory conditions.
“Rebellion is the first stand-alone expansion to the Sins of a Solar Empire universe,” said Brian Clair, director of publishing for Stardock. “Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion will add many new ships, refresh the visuals and integrate Impulse::Reactor features to support achievements, multiplayer leagues and much more.”
In the original award-winning Sins of a Solar Empire, developed by Ironclad Games, you are the leader of one of three civilizations embroiled in a galactic war, fighting for survival of your entire race against relentless foes. Your success will depend on your ability to manage your empire and command your vast fleets of starships to victory. Players will colonize new worlds, develop extensive trade networks, conduct research, fortify their empires with powerful starbases and fleets of ships, plus control the galaxy using the unique diplomacy system that reacts dynamically to the players’ actions.

I image that next will be 128 bit processing, just going by the binary.
will you be able to buy this in the store's???? i can't buy online my parents wont do it the dont trust the online stores they say the are all and are out to steal their money.... please releas it in stores i guess is what i am trying to say!!!
They released trinity in stores, but that was the full game and the expansions. It all depends if they think it's economically viable to pay for production and distribution of hard copies when they already have Impulse.
Unfortunately, due to SOASE's relatively small following, you may be out of luck on that one Dante.
Wouldn't a pre-loaded Visa from Target or Walmart work just the same?
can not wait for this game
discount is 10 off if u own the orignal sins.. not the expansions.. already pre-ordered:)
now where is the info ont he beta? all other stardock games i bought got me in a beta of the game... why none mentioned here?
do not do this to me.. give me beta!!!
harpo
expected release date is Q4 2011. May change
So, does any know if the made the Kodiak prettier this time around?
It reminds me of an APC, floating in space, without any road system. It doesn't even look as good as say the APC's from Renegade Legion. I tend to like blocking and angular in my fighting vehicles too. I'm sorry, but the Kodiak just gets a, "meh," from me.
If they follow their past release pattern with Sins, expect later.
Sins was released Feb. 4, 2008.
Entrenchment was released Feb. 25, 2009.
Diplomacy was released Feb 9, 2010.
Rebellion Feb, 2012? =P
Unless they rebel against the pattern.
Oh that was painful....
Well, you should at the very least see beta testing by Q4 2011. If it takes a bit longer to get the game running smoothly, so be it.
Heathen.
I think......
Kodiaks are pretty
Assailants are not.
Yes
Speaking of graphics...was there ever a fix for the way beam effects become pitifully washed out depending on the angle you view them from? It's a little thing, but I like me some beam effects.
Also yay, new expansion. I came here curious about new SoaSE developments and wasn't disappointed.
Well, Rebellion is supposed to re-do particle effects, and I'm guessing beams would be included in that.
