Pacov and others.
I was juts thinking, we can easily (on JeeSports) set up a league. It could be round robin, double round robin and have playoffs at the end (or not).
The other thing we can do with the structure is to have a league and a sub league.Initially everybody would be on the lowest level league. perhaps split into two divisions. At the end of the first season, promotion and relegation would occur (automatically on jeesports).that would allow some temas to move up and some to stay in the lowest league.the third seasons new teams could enter (from the lowest league) and climb up.
A league approach (which doesnt mean we could also have weekly tournies), means that we can get the new players to have some fun competiting as well (at least from season 2 as season 1 will probably be rough for some).
Match structure wise, it could be flat or dynamic i.e. be for example 3 * 2v2s per playweek or something a bit more complex like 3*2v2 + 3 * 3v3
at the end people would know that they have 1 team to play per week. that shouldnt be too difficult to manage even for the more casual players
let me know what you guys think.bestiamKira
stop praiding shite. Its not decent. Heh... I have to go to work in the am and have just been pissing around having fun on the forums. That said, I am terrified of fighting jona in a 2v1.
Anyway - final thought - I think we could have quite a bit of fun in a 2v2 league (with 2 players per team). Slopping many good players into a 4 or 5 person team to form a 2v2 is silly. I'd think the best thing to do would be to add someone not as skilled to each solid 2v2 team so that we'd each have a mid as a third when 3v3 games came up. Honestly, I think we could come up with 2 MAYBE 3 solid 3 person teams based on the current population (I don't mean that there are only 9 folks that are solid at the game - I mean that folks that are used to playing together that are solid and could compete at the highest level are limited).
Ahh, just missed it. Literally 30 seconds ago.
Mcshane we started a new game come play!
Lol I saw you as a support DG vs Nnills and Jakins OWNED!
It's full!
all those matchups sound like fun, but only if i'm not hungover and sick the day from a crazy party
No noobz Zen_God...
you cannot defeat the zen god unless he's "hungover and sick the day from a crazy party." Not sure why no one ever includes the caveat.
yes that is exactly the idea. so if you not free someone else can take over.
also, as there could be a combi of 2v2s and 3v3s having 2 players extra is safer i think
heh... talked with zen. He and I will pair up for a 2v2 league. Better watch out or we'll go rook/occ again, butch.
also - my take is that we really should form 3 person teams for a 2v2 league (I think 4 people per team is over the top, tbh). This would be great for semi-retired dgs players and its probably the best option for us to get good matches going. I still think that each team would be best off with 2 strong players (tier 1, if you like) and a mid (tier 2, if you like). I really do like the idea of a league, though. I mean, we occasionally get good match ups, but the vast majority of the time, in pugs, its often a mismatch. From our last (non jeelounge) tourney, I'd have enjoyed playing anyone over and over with our soccer(ub)/cow(occ)/pac(sed) combo. You know how it is amongst us arrogant folks - you might beat me once, but unless you are beating me consecutively, I don't think your team is better... after all, everyone has their off games. I'd love to play games like those over and over as I find them challenging and quite fair. At least to me, that would be a blast. What wouldn't be a blast is just trying to stack and idiotic 4 person team instead of striking up solid 2v2 teams and having league matches once or twice a week.
Anyway, the best thing about a league is that it actually encourages a regular premade team. I know its been a stigma to the community, but its still the highest level of competition imo.
Yeap you right. 3 persons per team for a 2v2 league should be good.
each playweek would be 3 match of 2v2 with winning condition best of 1.
Couldn't help myself, I'll be nice and not comment on it though lol.
Agreed, but you're not being truthful here pacov. We did beat you consecutively and even put an exclamation mark on the final game, but you have yet to admit that McOrcenz was at least better with that particular character combo. <--Renz,Orcun,Me
For me a league that focuses on 2 vs 2 isn't interesting. I'd prefer to see stacked idiotic 4 person teams where the goal is 3 vs 3 but we settle for 2 vs 2 if there's not enough team members around.
yes... the fantasy world I live in that where you are incorrect. Its also reality, but we can call it a fantasy world if that helps. Anyway, I trust playing those combos on a more frequent basis will at least get you to shut up after the loses start stacking up on your team. I'd rather just whoop ya than listen to you jabber on about total wins in a series of those dg selections, so lets just do that instead. But like i said:
So its pretty obvious what your response to this will be followed by my response eh.
I get that you don't dig the 2v2 league idea. I think that's probably the best based on folks that would play. Just doing the basic math, if it was 3v3's, then we need 4 people per team (1 to serve as an alt per kira's suggestion). So, how many good teams would come out of that if 4 are required per team? 2-4 teams tops, I'd think. But in 2v2, I'm pretty sure we could get 4-6 good teams with many others that would participate.

heh... conclusive evidence that your team will win 100% of all games with that combo. Thanks for posting that.

What about ^^ ?
heh... in game 3 we tried a different strategy, but it was... pretty bad. It was clearly a whoopin. You apparently took a team trying a diff strategy as proof of your absolute dominance with a dg combo. Not that smart, really.
I try a diff strategy every time I lose . You apparently took us trying a diff strategy in game 1 as proof that you somehow have a chance with those combos against the winning strategy we used in games 2 and 3. Not that smart yourself.
Thanks for high jacking this thread with not so productive discussions.
If we really want to achieve something (do we?) we should focus and compromise.
This is a small community and iof we start being too picky then we won't get anything done i feel.
Some people are not prepared to play their usual teammates which i can understand to a certain. However the situation is such that if we want to make smthg interesting we'll need to split up a bit.
here are the options from my pov:
You vote. I am for option 3
BestiamKira
I am also for option 3 probably, but we need to tell people about this (advertise more). Most players don't check forums or don't understand english well, so they know nothing about JeeLounge, tourneys (many think Pantheon is tourney), teaming with others, etc. I personally don't see many players teaming up with someone else (thanks to the past hatred of premades), so it is 90% like this - someone hosts, random people join it, balancing or not and playing. No thinking, no team strategies, nothing. everyone plays for himself (well sometimes helping allies, but not talking a lot). There is a clan like "aA" of german players, who probably team up more than others, "Ones", "OMG", their friends and probably that's it... I personaly try to play with my own teammate as much as I can, but other ones should also... At least one partner would be good for the start...
