GAME DAY UPDATES:
The tourney is over:
iamKira and ppapanek win!
Here’s the latest info on the tournament. Please review this if you are participating:
We’ll be running some practice tourneys over the next few weeks to try out a new site that we’ll be using for our tournaments going forward. One of the benefits the JeeLounge site is that it makes it very easy to create tournaments with specific rules, upload replays, and track stats. We had a small practice tournament on 2/6/2011 that was reasonably successful. So far, we’ve had about 25 folks from the community register on the Jee site (Plays/Sports/Lounge), so I expect we’ll see even more participation in the this upcoming practice tournament on 2/20/2011 at Noon EST.
Well, first and foremost, we are going to have a series of these tournaments. I’m planning for 2 more practice tournaments and then we’ll get back into having some cash prize tournaments. So, consider these next 2 tournaments as just for fun, if you like, but just be aware that there is no cash prize for the practice tourneys.
What is the schedule?
What are the rules?
Each tournament will have varied rules that will be announced approximately 1 week before the tourney begins.
Here are the rules for the practice tourney on 3/6/2011 Noon EST (FYI – this is an ALL WELCOME tournament)
If you haven’t registered on the Jee sites yet, just follow these 3 simple instructions below. You’ll still need to register for tournaments, etc, but this will get you added to the system.
You will not need to repeat those steps again for future tournaments once you have registered.
So now you have a membership on the Jee sites. Here’s what you need to do next to participate in the tournament:
Here are folks that indicated they’d like to play but have not locked down teammates:
Here are the registered teams:
Glad to hear it!
Jakins would also like to play.
Why are there only 3 of the teams signed up so far?

Yeah all true, but there is no ub in this round is there? From thinking about this earlier I thought "if" 2x ice tb didn't feed early and weren't totally destroyed on ws by mid game then they would pwn late game due to deep freeze chaining (even if they didn't take staff). However after a little more thought this seems like a decent trade off to me. "If" you can survive early - then you own it up later...
pacov - What time is this thing kicking off so I can convert it to "a-dingo-ate-my-baby" time and see if I can be bothered staying up (should be around 4am)?. Also, I still think nm AI is the way to go as single person teams are going to be handicapped so much at least purchases can be taken care of.
its noon est. I think if you go here: http://www.jeesports.com/tournament/details/1/12
I think you will see the time it starts in GMT.
Okay, we got it sorted with nnnils. I'll play with SeaWolf due to connection issues with nnnils. I'll create a team for us and register tomorrow. Maybe nnnils will team up with Dreamcatcher, still not sure about that, though.
Added jakins to list. Changed up seawolf/in1. In1 - you will have to get seawolf to register on the jee site (if he has not already). Then, you should create your own clan, then a team with the 2 of u... then register.
Yeah, I know. He had already registered and joined the group: iamdarkmg = Lols_Seawolf.
ah - I thought that might be synnworld. Gotcha.
edit - I created a team for the 2 of you if you want to use that. IN1 - you can just go ahead to the tourney site and register directly now.
in1 - it might be necessary for you to explain to our non-english speaking friends what they need to do to get added to the tourney officially. I'm happy to add something to the op if you want to translate - but if these guys don't form a team on the jee site and register/check in for the tourney, they won't be playing. Thanks!

Gladly. The section pertaining to forming a team needs translation?
Как создать собственную команду?
Элементарно, Ватсон:
1. Прежде всего, зайдите на JeeLounge, выберите опцию Network.
2. Там выберите Create Clan.
Done, as you can see. That's a step-by-step guide to creating clans/teams/tourney sign up/check in.
Concerning the rules. After some practice 2v2 games vs teams that will actually play in the tourney, I'm assured the decision to leave Rook in was most unfortunate. The tourney will be totally Rook-dominated. Even vs Occ+QoT in 2v2, a good Rook = slow strategical strangulation more often than not. It's still a practice tourney, and anyway, I surely don't care about winning/losing. I just hope we'll get eliminated in our very first all-hail-Rook match -- they tend to be long, boring and 100% predictable, if the Rook is competent
Please add nnnils/jakins as a team. They have much less connection troubles.
Pacov,
please friend my tourney partner manipulon on jeelounge. Then please form us as a team under your clan "teamdg". This way I don't have to manage a clan that has only one team on it. The name of our team should be "scatology".
Much thanks, and great erb last night.
mem
thx - I can't set him up completely though. Please direct him to the OP and have him follow the instructions:
I sent him a friend request, but can't do anything else until he follows the 2 steps listed here. Just let me know when he's done that and I'll set ya up.
Added nills jakins to the OP.
edit - of the 10 teams that are listed here as wanting to participate, only 4 are registered for the tournament on the jee site. YOU MUST REGISTER THERE IF YOU WANT TO PLAY:
The name of our team should be "scatology".
Scatology? What is this shit, for crap's sake?
(Let's see if my reply is appreciated)
A small addendum to my strategy posts: !@#$ the !@#$ing Rook in his mutha!@#$ing arse!
Appreciated indeed.
When we lose the tourney, we will record the game and study our shitty play. Or perhaps someone else's shitty play if we get a bit clever. Either way, some studying of shit is going down.
Well, I've come to the conclusion I cannot play 2v2 for shit. No matter what build I go, it's 90% guaranteed loss vs skilled (sometimes not even that skilled) opponents. During the last 3 days I've taken more beating than ever in this game. I'm afraid I'm not getting better at 2v2 at all, and - to my surprise - analyzing those matches does absolutely no good. It's just a completely different game from 3v3. I hate to admit, but I just don't get it
So I guess this tourney will be my last venture into 2v2 land, since besides being terrible at it (and not improving!), I also happen to think it's much less interesting and eventful than 3v3 (less teamwork involved, less justification for playing synergist DGs). My attention span is too short, and my concentration is gone after I run from mana to xp flag for the 125th time. Lastly, I just hate do disappoint the good players that hope I'll play on the same level I do in 3v3 and bravely take me on their team.
Took me a bit to make the change up from 3v3 to 2v2. Oh well... at least you get some XP
Your team has been created. Memory - you just need to register for the tournament now and you are set.
IN1, you've beaten us though While we... cannot even remember if beaten anyone... Well maybe someone unlucky
there are still only 4 teams registered. let us know if you need help setting up your team and signing up for the tourney.
with pacov on my team I don't have to bother with all this
