So I've been playing strategy games since I was a kid and have always had an unexplainable love for everything similar to it. The computer TBS games are however an untapped source to me. I have been playing Heroes of Might and Magic II and III for a very long time but haven't really looked into anything else.
So I heard about civilization and decided to check it out. I absolutely loved Civilization V, loved it. However, there were bugs and they were annoying. I was patient, and waited. One patch came, didn't change much. So I got bored of waiting and I don't really see mods as a solid enugh solution to that game.
So I heard about Elemental on the civilization forums, I decided to test my luck (I'm not much of a penny grabber) and went and got the game. At first I found it abit confusing. The campaign felt like Runescape and the agamemnon or whatever the tutorial is called didn't explain much. However I was persistant and managed to figure the basics out and I absolutely love this game.
There are a few issues I have with it though. I like civilizations built-in manual alot more then this as you could search in it (if it only provided actual information). The escort quest with the nobleman doesn't seem to work, I have tried like 8 times. The terrain is abit bland, I know it's suposed to be some variant of PA but it's still abit boring at times. Other then that, really great work and I hope to see more games like it in the future.
yeah I love this game, there are also tons of customization options, you can make custom sovs, troops, and factions. My favorite thing about this game is that you can customize everything.
Glad to see another fan born. I would recommend not playing the campaign at all unless you're really into that sort of thing - much like Civ, this is based on the open-ended, create your own story deal. Here, have some karma!
Welcome. I have been trying to put out the good word for Elemental along with other people on the Civ Fanatics Forum.
There has been a fairly positive buzz created towards the game because of this.
Especially this thread:

I am glad that people are coming here, trying the game and enjoying it.
I am also glad that they are providing constructive criticism on how to make the game better.
It's been a pretty crappy day so far but this thread cheered me up a little.
I took a look at the linked thread - nice work over on that forum - some good discussion going on there.
Yes. It's one of the only threads that doesn't get hijacked by Civilization 5 fanbois or get shutdown by the Mods.
There is a lot of good discussion about various games out there.
Happy to spread the word anyway.
Thormodr... always doing his part.
Good to see others migrate.
My biggest problem with the game is still the difficulty with the AI. Alot my games start out good, but eventually I wind up running away with it in the long run. I have high hopes that this will be addressed in my first free expansion though. I think the inclusion of the new blood on the team is gonna go a long way towards an amazing game. Right now its mearly a good game, but even that is a huge step up over what I initially paid for.
I might be blind but I don't really get if you think it's too easy or too hard competing against the AI.
I mean I don't understand what you mean by this "My biggest problem with the game is still the difficulty with the AI. Alot my games start out good, but eventually I wind up running away with it in the long run." Does it mean that you think your games start out ok but then you got no way of keeping up with the AI or that it becomes too simple?
He means that he starts off even with the AI, but then runs away the game - the AI can't keep up with his awesomeness. I tend to agree with his sentiment, but I have not played much with the latest round of AI changes either.
I would not say that "it is great game" , but rather "this game will be great soon". I left it waiting for last 3 months or so on purpose, and I need to say that I am not disappointed (unlike with its direct competitor), there is clear progress and in direction i like. Only thing it really suffers is boredom of late game, and tedious cleaning to get final victory. But this can be said about every civ like game out there.
