Monday Night Combat is a game that came out several months ago on the 360. The developers have evidently grown tired of fighting Microsoft every time they wanna patch the game so they are bringing it to PC. It is available now on steam (and by available I mean you will get beta access) for 13.49.
MNC plays like DotA/Demigod/LoL but in a shooter format. You have six classes that you can upgrade as the game progresses via gold you get by killing other players and bots. Bots spawn from your portals and are your creeps in this game, and you need them to breach the shields to the Money Ball, which is what you're trying to destroy. It is a very fresh and interesting game, And I suggest you follow the link and At least take a look. Bear in mind, it is in beta, and while the game itself mostly works, the server browser and connection stuff is pretty bad atm, though they are working on a fix. Cheers.
How does the 3rd person view flow with the need to slay a seemingly endless amount of bots? Doesn't it get kind of repetitive, since you can't zoom around the map or check on your base like you would in DOTA or demigod when you're in for some grinding?
Other than that, I'll pick this up for sure when it's out of beta.
Well you have to understand, while it's similar to those games, its not the same in that you need to grind and such. its much faster paced and you really dont need to worry about that stuff. It also tells you when things are getting attacking and such. It's hard for me to answer your question in words, but its really not a problem I've noticed.
picked it up on steam. fun stuff. you get immediate access to the beta.
I am definitely jumping on this game once the beta gets its first patch to address some minor but annoying bugs. I love "death sport" games (anybody remember the original Speedball?) and I think I will like this too.
Check back here I'll try and remember top post when the net stuff is stable for the game. They just released a patch that fixed some things but made a bigger problem. Fortunately they now know why the issue is occuring and should have it fixed soon.
Waiting for the all clear that it's fixed enough. Normally I don't like Steam, but for MP-only games it's fine.
Okay so Word from the Devs is that they have the patch, it works fine now under their tests, and they have uploaded the aforementioned patch to steam. Steam however has not put it up at the time of the post, But it should be there by the time I wake up. I'll give the official word in the morning. This game really is an awesome and very original game you really should try it. If you have an xbox lying around download the demo on that. Cheers
build 18643 is live.... guessing that is new version as its forcing me to play through the tutorial again.
edit - does look like new version. Previous version I couldn't see any games in the MP browser. This version, I can.
Yes Pacov they have indeed patched it and as far as I can tell from my playtime with the new build all the network stuff is running wonderfully. It still needs a few more tweaks but the game is Great IMO. If anybody wants to play PM me and we can exchange steam IDs.
MNC represents everything Demigod should have been.
