Please use this thread to schedule your matches. Remember, all teams are responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches!
There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled. It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums. For instance, if I wanted to get a game going against AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:
Atma + Ba: trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST. Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works. I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent.
Something like that. If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.
And remember, you can use this thread, use pm's on the forums, use the lagwars vent, whatever method you want to get your games going.
So, all of that said, I'd like to kick things off and start checking in on folks availability for Saturday (10/16). Ideally, I'd like to get as many people on at the same time on 10/16 and just get some games going to kick the tournament off.

imagine that... I spent an entire sunday waiting around for full teams to show up and not a single team showed up at the same time... cool stuff.
edit - pacov's last stand = me saying we are now in the final 4. The final 4 matches will be scheduled. If folks don't want to show up, then GG.

me = whatever. Another day wasted because people can't be intelligent enough to say "LET'S PLAY AT 9PM EST". That's insanely difficult, I'm sure. This has cost me more time than I am willing to spend ever again.
So. Here's the deal. We are now in the final 4. Basic tournament is over.
We will vote on rules. We will schedule matches. If players do not show up at the SPECIFIC TIME SET DURING SCHEDULING (NOTE: schedule an entire day and not showing up is horse shit - you will pick a TIME to play and show up then), then they will be dq'd.
Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed in folks not willing to schedule a match at a specific time and then not showing up with their team. Times for matches will be set going forward. You guys need to get your shit together if you want to say "let's play on Sunday" and refuse to set a time. Completely idiotic imo. If you won't set a time, you need to be available for the entire day (note - what I wasted my day doing).
Anyway, that is over an done with.

Who's the 4th, Darkliath/Iz or Rawrr/Jona? Rawrr and Jona are always around but no Kalel or Hedgie, and Dark's team disappeared for weeks but they all showed up yesterday for a bit. That game was really the most important unless you and Zen wanted to play for second place in the basic tournament part and then play again right after to decide who is in the final championship game.
Hello? Pacov, I see you posting everywhere but you're not answering this one. If we're in the final 4, who is team 4?
Hey - I didn't even notice this thread until now... weird. Anyway, I personally don't care if my team is slotted in the #2 or #3 slot. If desired, we could simply randomly match the final 4 (random number generation - eg what I did for setting up the bracket in the last tourney) and just have whoever gets matched with whoever play out those games. That method works fine, imo. I'm happy to play zen's team to decide who is technically in 2nd or 3rd, but if we go by random number generation to determine who plays who in the finals, then it quite irrelevant... and as I'd like to speed things up instead of hoping people can all get together at the same damn time, I'd just as soon say put my team at 3rd place and let's move on.
With regards to who is in 4th. It might not matter as the scheduling/availability of those folks are somewhat in question. And we will be setting specific times for the final 4 matches (eg we aren't dragging this out for 2 more weeks hoping folks will finally say "let's play at 8PM ET - does that work for you?").
Anyway, the 4th place question is something that will have to be discussed by the decision making panel. Of course, having to make a decision could be avoided completely if a few teams would... play... their... games... At any rate, I say we hold off until Wednesday of this week, then the panel will make a decision on who will be in the number 4 slot (and I'd wager it will be a debate over which team we actually think will show up) IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY PLAYED THEIR GAMES.
Random number generation? Doesn't work for me, you match the top seed against the last and work your way down, it's a standard playoff format for everything. We put a lot of effort into the first seed, it's supposed to be an advantage. I wouldn't agree to having to beat you or zen yet again to get into the finals since that would be....some bullshit.
It does work for me to give Rawrr and Darkliath until wednesday to figure out who's 4th. Since Dark's team has 2 wins, I think they're favoured if the games don't actually get played.
awufflehedgie would you be available to play sometime this upcoming week? My schedule is pretty much clear, so if you give some times you're available I'll chat with Jona and select a time to play against Dark / Iz / Darz.
Also, the random number generation is unnecessary. Whether you're 2nd or 3rd going into the last 4 doesn't matter.. just who is 1st and 4th. See below:

Winners of those games play for 1st and 2nd. Losers play for 3rd and 4th. So, if you're ranked 2 and zen is 3, you play each other. If you're 3 and zen is 2, you play each other. Shane's team is clearly #1 slot atm.. and I'm attempting to get a game again against dark's team to see who's 4th seed.
We also need to determine who the clear winner was of the round robin that way the money can be distributed accordingly.

I don't think you've missed anything Jon. The last tournament game was played on November 10th, so it really couldn't be any more clear that my team won after a quick look at the results sheet.
I guess the only question is - mchshane's team - have you played every team that is elligible for the final 4? If so, then they are the winner of the round robin. If not, then they need to play whatever team they are missing. I think we have 3 losses and they have 2. But, like i said - if you've already played anyone in the final 4 (or the potential 5th), then its a done deal.

We've beat your team, zen's team, darkliath's team and had one game with Rawrr's team which we won. It doesn't make a difference since no one else has played everyone in the final 4 and we're several wins ahead. Zen's team could've made a claim to the round robin if they beat your team + darkliath's team and we lost one of our final 2 to Rawrr's team but we're clearly past the time for that now.
Not necessarily past the time to discuss such things, though... seeing as the discussion is on who won the round robin. My team has played everyone but zen's team in the top 5 group and we have a total of 3 losses. We can table this discussion for a bit as we'll be ruling on Wednesday on who is the 4th in the final 4 IF those teams have not played yet.
And my team has played everyone except for the final 2 games against Rawrr's team and we have 2 losses and 6 or 7 more wins total. How is there something left to discuss about the round robin part? Just 2 days ago you were saying you would put your team at third and move on if necessary because round robin is over. Now out of nowhere it's still possible for you guys to get first?
when it occurred to me that you have 2 loses and we have 3 loses and I was under the impression that you had played all of the teams in the running for the top 4. You do remember how we are handling wins for teams that dropped out? I do...
Anyway, this will also likely be resolved on wed or at the very least we'll have a plan in place to settle things.
Ok, im kinda confused atm... Who exactly do we need to play vs? we talked to zengod to play saturday but he lacked kira, and we agreed to sunday but again he lacked some player... so its rly hard to get some games going... My team is from euro and we can play almost everyday from 20 to 24 at gmt +0 (14 to 18 est)...
so... someone give us a call here or at vent so we can get that final match going...

Ok you haven't played all of the teams in the top 4 and you're the one who said the round robin was over. Suddenly you want to open the round robin back up again and have everyone finish their games when no one cares to make the time to finish it anymore?
Don't forget 2 of your 3 losses are against us. Are you really trying to create an issue over the slight chance that you sweep Zen's team and we lose both of our games against Rawrr's team, since this is the only way you can win. No offense to Rawrr, I think he has the second strongest team in the tournament now that they have a Sedna; they could beat us once, but it's not going to happen twice in a row.
You have to play Rawrr/4Nana + Jona + Hedgie for the final spot in the top 4.
Pacov, i may be able to review everything tonight or tomorrow night but i still have to unpack and i'm getting caught up at work (which is very very challenging lol)
