I swear people go out of their way to alienate every mid player out there, and frankly, I've had enough. It's so tough to find a game anyhow without having to catch a ton of bullshit in the lobby and in-game. I've never been a top-tier player. I'm good at best. But some of the shit I catch? Forget it. This is no longer worth my time or aggravation. It's been so bad the past few weeks, the game just isn't fun anymore. Some of you people really need to check your attitudes at the door.
Sad to say that the only thing that Demigod succeeded in carrying from DotA was the 'community experience'

I was just saying you need to time your heals better when you are playing a tier 1 UB im sorry if your team was being mean to you though. You arent horrible you know the basis of the game you just need to play against better people and get some practice.
Sorry if you were offended.. personally I knew you as a better sedna and expected the same quality out of you from the last time I played against you. I didn't expect you to be better than you were.. just as good as you had showed me the last time
You should find players who don't rage.
I will not abuse other players at all. Even when I get abuse I will not abuse back, simply tell them to grow up. If you see me playing join a game with me, I don't have the attitude you experience from the naughty children out there.
Other players who have friendly attitude are Darkliath, Wraith84, and Warhammer_007. And also there's some noobs coming through now hosting games like Matt123456, calling them "No swearing"
My brothers also plays this game a bit as do I. We're mid level and can go head to head with pros (win some, lose some). We both experience the rage you have witnessed too, and he writes a blacklist of other players he has on a board next to his pc. We never join games with them and kick them if they join ours.
With the sale price currently on DG we're gonna get some more players in. Host some games "Demigod learning for nooobs" or something like that. It won't be long before the influx of new players become mid level players, then the pros will be outnumbered and Mid gamers like us can play and have fun knowing it is a game and losing is not a bad thing.
To all the childish ragers (you know who you are): Some people have a JOB and Family, kids, wife, School, College, etc and we don't have the time or the need to play 10 games+ a day. When the people who take this game too seriously grow up and get a balanced life, they'll wonder why they ever got so passionate about timing that snipe or chosing the right items or who's buying citadel upgrades. Sadly though there are some people who will never grow up.

To those of you who played with me today (and then kicked me from the lobby! That was nice. Really? I deserved that?), this wasn't a one day thing. This had been my feeling for weeks, maybe months. I guess you provided a sense of clarity to how little I enjoy playing now, despite that I love the game itself and have played it since day one. I'm pretty thick skinned and if it got to me, then I can only imagine what others may have felt in the past.
I love Demigod, and staying away from it will be hard. If there's any message I want to get across by my leaving it's that you can't build a community when you're being dicks to each other. The DG community is already crippled enough. I'm guilty of it too, as I have ragged on other players, so I'm no saint here. Be that as it may, it is time for me to go. At least for now.

edit - and I've dropped non-tier 1 players from my games before if I have a tier 1 game lined up, but that's pretty much it. If someone's been playing with me for a bit that day, I won't drop them like a bad habit. We need to keep the good guys playing and lose the bad guys. Saul's a good guy. Maybe give it another shot - you made your post on the forums and these guys do read the forums. I doubt you'll encounter similar treatment in the future from our group.
wasn't anyone from our group that kicked as far as I know. I've been hosting the majority of today. Renz and I were a little rude one game.. but nothing serious. I wasn't angry about the loss, but then I'm usually pretty happy.

it's best to tell guys that we've been playing with for a bit why they are being kicked though. Its a small community - a little courtesy for the guys that have been around goes a long way. I'm certainly not perfect in this either, but I generally let my pals (or at the very least OMG members) know why I'm dropping them if I'm dropping. Thanks for being candid though.

Y'know, it's been all of 24 hours and I'm already missing the game.
There has been a level of hostility growing over the past few months which is impossible to ignore, though. I watch it get taken out on myself and other players, and sadly sometimes I partake as well. Last night it got under my skin, which is saying something. In retrospect, I should have cooled off before posting, but, Jesus, getting ragged on and then booted from a lobby was too much for me to stomach at the time. I can only imagine how a more casual player would have walked away from Demigod. I'm hopelessly addicted though, so please forgive my posturing post. I don't think I can retire so abruptly.
That said, could we try to be nicer to each other? A little bit?
Understandable mate. I've flamed in the forums before....I got pre-update rage against the game.... Now it's stable enough and I can get a game going easily enough that's not a big issue..... I'll certainly like to play with or vs you anytime I see ya out there

I've made a written list of "Cool" and "Dick" players and found it very helpful for avoiding the jerkoffs, since I have also had my fill of them. And also adding the cool players to the in game "friends" list. I agree that this community seems to have an unusually high portion of assholes that take the game way too damned seriously. Maybe they just behave immaturely because they really are immature. There are so few of us left anyway that when the urge to play develops, one cannot be choosy with PUGs, so we might be stuck playing with one or more of the douchebags.
I suppose when many of these fellas are sitting home alone on a Saturday night wondering why no one asked them to any parties and that they can't get laid, then maybe there will be a change of heart. DG can offer life lessons! Hopefully you will stick around. I'll put you in my friends list and PM you for a game anytime you're available. I've gamed with you before and would be glad to do it again. We can brow beat the losers together!
What is it about DotA style games that cause DotA style rage?
I don't know how many times I've been yelled at and freaked out at by good people, Christian people, people in a better world I could have a beer with... while we were completely dominating the game.
Even me: an extremely mellow guy who usually doesn't care much whether he wins or loses any sort of competition in real life, will type snarky comments such as "Oh great, I'll go back to heal again cause my teamate won't share a monk. Enjoy your map control guys." Of course in my own mind its more like "You stupid @#$% share your stupid @#$%ing monks you @#$%ing noob piece of @#$%" and then I catch myself and just wonder what the hell is up with that?
