Hello friends old and new!
After a lengthy hiatus, I've come back around to enjoy some GalCiv2. While playtesting my Major Minors, I remembered a discussion in another forum about playing a game by democracy. It never went anywhere, but I thought I'd bring it up here. The basic concept is that I'd play a game and post reports, and the participants would discuss and vote on the course of action. The exact details and pace of the game are up for discussion.
I think it would be fun and I'd like to give it a try. Anybody else interested in such a thing?

Now that the briefing is finally done, I guess we all start posting.
It seems everything has been said for the current session. The only concrete issue I can think of is the Torian trade, though we already have 2 in favor. I suppose research could be an issue, though the council has voted to allow Dr Malar to direct the research program. Do I post a ballot, or take the council's input under advisement?

I also think that a vote isn't necessary this time.
I agree, let "Dr. Malar" decide based on his best judgement and whatever we as a council have posted as useful ideas.

I think I was the only one who posted last time, indeed let's hope that now that there is news and some big events are upcoming (war!) everyone will follow more closely

For the record, I think all the remaining counselors have voted - TMS2224, SarcFa, and LordCarlos have not been heard from in some time, and I'm pretty sure they're out.
If this hasn't been totally abandoned, I think it's safe to say that we can now call the vote.

Same opinion here. We're almost more active voting to move on than actually voting in the AAR
Alright, so I've played out the next quarter. I was going to go for 6 months just to move things along, but I ended up making one big decision without a vote and there is another big decision to consider.
I have an issue, though. One of the things that keeps me dragging is that I simply don't have the time to put together the reports. It takes literally several hours and I'm up against a wall time-wise. As an alternative, it occurred to me that I could just post a link to my save game so that you can all check it out. I have reservations about the idea, but you'd all finally get a real look at what it's all about. Otherwise, it'll be short reports and a little Q&A to get the idea across.
Let me know what you think and maybe we can get this moving again.

Why do you have reservations against the idea? I'm fine either way as well, though I wouldn't want this to take hours for you...
My computer doesn't handle GC2 well, maybe someone other than Tolmekian could write reports? Just brief ones with important information?
Reservations . . . I don't know. It just feels like giving away something precious. Like, after all this time I feel a bit of ownership, and if I give it away it's not mine anymore. Make any sense? I guess it's a silly thing, but it's the way I feel.
Sorry to let this drop like I have. I do like the writing. I wanted to flesh things out with stories, other reports, and news flashes, but never got to it. I'll go for the brief report this time around and we'll see how things go. I won't disappear for a month at a crack and we'll see this through.
In other news, it looks like I'm ready to release my TechTree fix v2. Yeehah!
I do understand the ownership thing, I was just wondering whether you were worried about practical issues or something.
Come to think of it, I don't have GalCiv II installed anymore so I'm fine with summary reports

Unfortunately, things have slowed down here quite a bit. I've been kicking around the idea of converting this to a narrative just to keep it going. Hopefully our remaining four councilors will chime in on the current session and things will get rolling again. Admittedly, I'm more or less to blame for things dying down; but I'm ready to resume a steady pace and see if we can't see this through.

Iv'e been following the other thread, and thought id post my comments here so as not to ruin the flow and feel of the council thread, but i love this concpet and think what you guys have done is pretty cool.
