I've had the Precision skin for quite some time.
Precision skin was pulled out of WB for a while, then where updated with Windows 7 bits and got new (more recent) WB sections to serve as example if any skinner have doubts on the new sections.
More skins with new features coming very soon.
so more of the skins that were included with wb in the past are going to be updated?

Tried to open Impulse today, got this. Uninstalled and downloaded Impulse and reinstalled. Same thing. After the install, it opened and downloaded the Impulse update and when it tried to restart, got this again.Vista Home - 32bit.
Z71,
Is there anything in your Impulse error log? By default, that would be located here: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\Temporary\impulse-errorlog.txt. The most recent entries are at the bottom of the file. Take a look at errors that would have occurred on the day that you got the last error.
There is a long list, of the same ones, but these are the three that keep repeating.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [9/22/2010 8:45:02 AM] ----------------------------------------------------Context: SkinState Appying FontMessage: Build #: 1971Exception: Font 'Segoe UI' does not support style 'Regular'.Stack Trace: at System.Drawing.Font.CreateNativeFont() at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(FontFamily family, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont) at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(String familyName, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont) at System.Drawing.Font..ctor(String familyName, Single emSize, FontStyle style) at ft.a(Font A_0, XmlNode A_1)---------------------------------------------------------------------- [9/22/2010 8:45:57 AM] ----------------------------------------------------Context: UpdateApplicationFileList: impulse, impulse_main,PublicProductionMessage: Server problem or connection issueBuild #: 1971Exception: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.Stack Trace: at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at Stardock.Central.Common.HttpWebRequestHelper.GetResponseStream(WebRequest request, Boolean GZipEnabled) at a6.c(UpdateParams A_0)--------------------------------------------------------- [9/22/2010 9:21:12 AM] ----------------------------------------------------Context: Create Main/Login FormMessage: Build #: 1966Exception: Font 'Segoe UI' does not support style 'Regular'.Stack Trace: at System.Drawing.Font.CreateNativeFont() at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(FontFamily family, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont) at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(String familyName, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont) at System.Drawing.Font..ctor(String familyName, Single emSize, FontStyle style) at b0..ctor() at Stardock.Central.Client.SDCMain.Start() at Stardock.Central.Client.Program.MainReal(String[] args)
It appears that the Segoe UI font isn't properly or fully installed on your system. The following link has all of the Segoe fonts in it. Please install them and see if that resolves your problem.

First, let me thank you for the help. It worked. I was missing the normal and a couple others. Strange.Second, no disrespect to anyone at Stardock, but why create an application, where it's mandatory to have a specific font installed to work properly? If it's mandatory, then have them pre-install when it's first installed. If I was a new customer, I wouldn't be to happy. Just something to think about. Thanks, again!
Thank you for the input. Impulse should definitely be handling a font not being there better than it is. We will be looking in to this.
My tabs in IE9 are gone now
ok got a problem I am working with a skin called mystic haunting I have seen this in a lot of skins the background behind the arrows in the new beta are black and there is no way to change it I have gone into the settings and there is no fixing it I have inclosed screan shots the first is the beta the other is the non beta (build 273) Remember I am gettin this on a lot of skins
I am on windows 7 and am using ie 8
What did you do?
If you close all IE instances and restart it do they reappear?
I can reproduce this and it seems to be with the older XP skins.
Hopefully the next beta update will resolve this.
Happens every time- they never even appear. I've tried other skins to no avail.
Are you on 32 or 64 bit? If 64 bit is iexplore showing as 32 or 64 bit in taskmgr?
neil I have also had it happen on some of the window 7 ones too
I'm getting this all of a sudden since the update (the black background, Helios skin. Happened on Havana too).
yikes and Havana is a master skin too and also windows 7
The skin probably lacks glass toolbar images which is why the problem is showing up. The next WB update will handle this case.
Indeed it did, updated today and it's all better. Ironically enough, with both of these skins I had deleted all the code for the glass backgrounds and stuff (was conflicting with another explorer addon I'm using).
Here's a screeny of the FF text issue I was talking about, Neil.
It seems to be an issue with graphic layers. The toolbar has a base layer with a texture (tiled) and an overlay layer with a gradient (stretched). The top image shows what happens when I have another window open behind the FF window. The bottom shows without a window behind. You can see that the text gets a light shadow around it as the gradient lightens.
Note: if I have a light wallpaper behind the FF window, the text is unreadable as well. Basically whatever is behind the window shows through.
Also important to note that this only happens on maxed window
I've had issues with coloring. For example Adamant gets a wierd color in the taskbar, only near the time, even if I tell WB no color. Doesn't happen on all skins. Stealth coloring was also funky. Retained color in start panel and task bar even after telling WB no color. Rebooting, unloading WB did no good.
Are you sure you have not applied a texture by mistake?
