Nope. Someone said MoM total conversion mod.
I posted a PM to "Raledon" that proposed a master of magic MOD. He said that he is actually fusionning ideas with you "UltimateElemental". Meanwhile I'll write a document with my ideas in it to be ready to submit them when asked.

So it makes the cloth map more colourful? Could be interesting.
Still, I was thinking to use full color tiles like if it was the original game. It would be interesting on the cloth map.
But it's true that when the map is not too colourful, it makes it easier to identify the objects on the map from the background. To the objects would really need to stand out.
It is a good start to a map, if anyone else has any ideas that can help us please let us know. We are still recruiting - would love to see artists and modellers/texturers come on board to help re-create the MoM experience!

Yeah, I was shocked when I saw the preview. Turning a strategy game into a FPS is like the worst blasphemy you can do.
The ultimateelemental.com site has been updated. Private messages and a wiki has been added for the Master of Magic mod.
There are also some great discussions going on there in the forums, if you want to get involved with the project please stop by.

Maybe it's the time difference, but I'm finding communication on the MOD forums to be a little slow. Or it could also be that there's not much going on at the moment.
Still, if Larienna is successful in his endeavour to get the new wiki and VPN up, I think it might help.
Things are a bit slow while 1.1 is being released, Elemental is no where near enough ready to be modded yet as there is much to be improved.
But I have released a few mini-mods, the most recent being an artifact one to make notable locations more interesting. Check them out while you are waiting.
Larienna is also doing the design document right now, it is a major undertaking and takes a long time. So 'visible' work won't move forward much until it is close to being finished.

Since some people might be curious of what we intend to do, I decided to post a link on my design document that covers civilization management. Take note that things can change during the development considering that we do not know all the limitations of Elemental's engine. But in general, that will be the direction we are taking. Here is the file

As you can see, some stuff in the document are still undefined yet (like the races). And there are also some meditations about some concepts of the game. Some of these meditations has been moved at the end of the document when a decision has been taken.
In the weeks to come, we should start modifying the game. Since the map generator only works from the map editor, what I will try,in the weeks to come, to hack the XML so that the map generator generate the map like I want it. For example, I do not want any environments and I do not want cliffs and beaches.
Don't expect to have a running mod version anytime soon. If everything works well, probably the first few release would be supplied as a series of files that will overwrite elemental's game file. Which will make the original Elemental game unplayable. So you would need to have 2 copies of elemental if you want to play the original game. When the mod gets more consistent, I'll try to identify the essential files for making the game run and ask users to only duplicate these files. This way, the second installation will be much smaller.
