Not the highest priority but it would be nice. Gear in general is pretty bland and having girls in armor that don't look just like the men in armor adds some flavor.
Soul Calibur style female gear will do for me
Also a complimentary box of tissues.
If we must have chainmail bikinis then go all the way. Make them magical bikinis so the amazons can shoot lasers from their boobs or have a clickable "confuse" spell on the item.
Any women around? What utterly ridiculous gear do you want to dress the male soldiers in?
oh come on folks. what about Conan the Barbarian and all that lot?
What I find silly is all the "heroes" are always in very good shape. No fat merchants, scholars, etc? I would be nice to see tall, short, thin, fat, etc. NPCs as well.
Instead, we are discussing fashion? No one ran around in armor 24-7, it was too hot and bulky! So let's have them dress up like Ken and Barbie and have parties where everyone judges you by your clothes.
I like fanservice.
Wow, when I made the crack about chainmail bikinis on page one I never thought people would still be talking about it 5 pages later.
This thread needs more pictures!
If you want to squelch this uhh... discussion... just start talking about shopping for shoes.
I love how people are debating about the realism of skimpy armor in a game where I can ride a giant wolf and create elemental fire with my mind while leading an army of ogres.
Joking aside, I don't even care what sort of armor my male and female sovereigns, units, and champions can wear. All I want is the ability to tell that the women are women and the men are men, even when they're wearing armor. Right now, a woman in armor looks like an effeminate boy. And while that sort of thing might have been okay with the Greeks, I'm kinda trying to do gender equality in my army. So it sucks that I have to give my ladies no chest armor and my men no leg armor to balance things out, while still keeping the women undeniably women, and the men undeniably men.
At any rate, there is nothing wrong with different style for different armors.
Even more importantly, I'd like the clothing choices you make in the beginning to matter - not as in determining how the gear you get are designed physically, but in color choices. After all, you BUY most armor, and having it dyed in a color scheme similar to your starting color choices wouldn't be that far off. (A sovereign can afford a little flamboyance there.).
As for female / male armors, it was common for roman centurion leather armors to be molded into looking more physically impressive. Six-packs and all. The same was also normal in greek armor. I see no reason why women wouldn't be just as vain.A counterpoint is that the male armors here doesn't concern themselves with such details either. Still, it would be a nice detail; I think some of the armors really could do with more stylish designs... but some armors you find do have stylish designs. (Unfortunately at least one of them - black and red armor piece - doesn't offer any protection at all. 0. None. Zero. Not what you expect from a legendary armor you dig up.... unless you're an archaeologist and not an adventurer.).
I dunno. I just sometimes forget that my melee fighters are female.
Not a problem with the archers since they don't wear any armor ...
I remember one day at work the woman had to go in and get new bullet bouncers (3A bulletproof vests) the new vest they were issued were designed for females and had a new contoured design ie there was room for there breasts so they didn't have to keep them strapped down all day in ill fitting armor designed for men. I asked one of my friends how she liked the new armor and she said "it's great now my boobs aren't sore"
I remember another time playing WOW and a friend of mine needed me to put some stuff in my bags because hers were full of her different outfits that she would change into when she went to the auction house, so that she looked nice. also there always seemed to be a channel in vent with female players talking about how there characters race looked prettier in this outfit as opposed to that outfit and blah blah blah <change vent room>.
So from these experiances I've concluded that.
1. Woman prefer armor designed to fit them properly.
2. When woman play games they like there character to look nice or "pretty"
I say give them "pretty" dresses that they can put on over there properly fitted armor. If your looking for porn Brad mentioned something about Troggs in another post ask him to clarify ... or wait for the mods
Let me guess, something like this?

Agreed. Gender equality is great and all good until it blurs the line between the different sexes. I'd just, at the very least, enjoy visually knowing that my women are women because right now, I sometimes can't. And like another poster said, Elemental isn't supposed to be super realistic so we should be able to have some leeway in designs.
one of the top 5 dumb, but sometimes entertaining, threads I have run across.
mmm........now that the armour visual debate has heated up nicely......I wonder if I could introduce the request for "breast-physics" on all female characters? I think that's what's *missing* from the game to be honest. We're all here in the name of realism afterall...... hehe
Seriously though, I DO think there should be "some" some-what scantily clad females, And males with their shirts off with bulging biceps. Did you guys see the Urxen skin I did? Did you notice that I posted a pic of him with no armor up top and I skinned his entire chest and back? Notice the rippling muscles and hair? Even though they are a monster race I wanted them to look cool and powerful, and to a female, maybe even attractive. Is that "realistic" though? Should I expect every male member of the Urxen race to be a big beefy powerhouse? I can tell you now, even though most women I know consider me to be an attractive guy, I'm not some big muscle bound hunk. I'm rather skinny, though admittedly I am cut. Still, should I be offended that the males of all the races seem to put me to shame physically? No, not at all. Why not? Because this is a FANTASY game. Just like in the movies or in most TV shows where all the people look "perfect", the same applies in video games and literature and any other popular medium.
As a fan of "Fantasy" worlds, I expect certain things in my entertainment. I expect the dudes to be big and strong and kick a lot of ass and I expect the women to have ample lush breasts and an ass so shapely I could bounce a quarter off it. Is that wrong? No, not at all. That's WHY it's called "Fantasy Entertainment". I can get away into a world where everyone is perfect. Unlike the normal reality of me being too skinny or some women thinking they are too chunky or some guys thinking they are too "weak". I want some "Fantasy" in my fantasy games.
In the memorable words of Captain Pickard...Make it so!!!
There's an app for that... (or at least there used to be)
Now THAT is more like it Gravedancer
/signed. Yeah females in Elemental are wearing way too much and aren't shapely enough. It looks like half of them are going to the prom. What's up with that?
Sexy cloth for casters works, and makes sense. You have holy female priests in robes, or unholy female warlocks who like to show skin; sure.
But please make the armor look like it's actually trying to protect them, even if it's curvy. The screenshot posted a bit ago was nice.
What I find funny is how almost everyone who is against this is almost fanatically against this and can only think of chainmail bikinis as "female armor" while everyone else is continually talking about full body armor that is molded to the female form and not necessarily lacking in protection. Sounds like their opposition is subliminal or subconcious. Anyway, I was thinking the same thing along this line. I recently got Disciples III and I really like the work done on the warrior nun. That's the kind of armor that we should be able to get for our female warriors.
To be fair, guys weren't wearing much back then either. Remember conan the barbarian? Just a piece of cloth or leather covering his crotch and some boots. Then there's He-man almost doing the same thing. Even in those pictures you show, there's a guy showing off more leg than a NFL cheerleader.
