Well, here it is - our list of feedback as compiled from several review sites, this forum, other forums, and our own Q/A team. There are a few more sites I need to pick apart, but in general I feel this covers many of the egregious issues (but feel free to note anything we’ve overlooked...we want to be as thorough as possible). The ‘Major Issues’ are the ones you’ll be seeing fixed ASAP. Ideas/suggestions will be re-prioritized and completed as proper solutions are determined.- Major List (Crashes/Stability/Etc.) -

Thanks for the info.
Out of curiosity: When could some basic performance-enhancing patch go live, approximately?
edit: I considered asking for a refund shortly after the release, but posts like this make me believe that the game will be as good (or better) as GalCiv2 one day. Thanks for your hard work.
Haven't found this one in the list:
After launching the game mouse cursor is stuck in an area occupied by Windows taskbar, clicking mouse would take back to windows. So I have to alt-tab or click the game icon in the taskbar to get back into the game.
So far the only solution is to set taskbar to auto-hide or reposition it to the bottom of the screen.
I should point out that several players have compiled similar lists and feedback threads (walls of text). Several of those aren't listed here (including an amazing one on the UI by Mtrixis), but please don't think that means we're not reading them over and noting the feedback. In fact, some of them have been printed out for folks to take home and read.
Anyways, thanks for everything, guys. Feedback from the fans, critics, and everyone inbetween has been benificial to direct our focus, and we can't wait to get future builds up that shape Elemental into something amazing!
A big one to add that I didn't see: (1.06) After saving and re-loading a game where any of your squads have lost members, those lost members are never replaced, i.e. the maximum hitponts of that unit is permanently reduced.
ObjC: Are you playing in windowed mode, but at your desktop's resolution?
Already fixed Will be in the next update.
A good list of feedback.
Something I've seen mentioned a lot as well is elemental weaknesses against, for example, summoned units. So a fire elemental would take extra damage from water spells. Right now all magic damage is just defendabledamage, which is dull and makes them boring (I mean, all the basic attack spells are the same except slight variations like range and mana cost and animation.
This would tie into the different weapon damage types as well - whatever happened to that? Is it in-game? Is it working? The combat system is too random to find out.
Yes, please do take that into account.
It's been validated by tons of " " so it counts for 100
Anyway, amazing job yourself with this post (even though some of the info is a little meaningless to us non-devs), and thanx for sharing.
Looking forward to the next update.
Thumbs up for Stardock, I've never seen any company revealing its internal to-do list...
uh yeah, this one should be on the Major list
EDIT:
okay i was too slow, it's already fixed
Is there any chance you guys will give the tech tree a pass? Right now it seems like it lacks direction and structure. I feel like I can research anything I want without any consequences. For example I can simply go through the military tree and largely ignore everything else and still win the game. I was hoping for a more balanced approach where the player would need to use all the trees and create strategies around key techs.
Going through the tech tree also feels like a chore. I don't know about everyone else, but it's just not fun. Also, is there any chance you will be getting rid of the random breakthrough mechanic? It seems the mechanic is there to provide a sense of replaybility and "excitement" when in fact it frustrates the player and merely provides the illusion of replayability.
One thing I really would like to see more of is more lore/quests/flavor texts relating to the cataclysm that we are supposedly recovering from. Right now the world (to me, at least) feels very bland and standard, as far as fantasy goes. I was hoping that the post-apocalypse fantasy would really give Elemental a different feel, but so far I haven't seen much of that.
I realise this is may not be a high-priority problem, but still... it is the one thing which has bothered me most...
What about the balancing of peasant squads against dragons?
I'm happy to see you guys are commited to fixing/upgrading this game. So to help, since i didnt see anything addressing this... Something needs to be done about the mounts. Its kinda funny being able to make warg riders as kingdom but not being able to build a kennel to breed them. Plus i kinda would like to use horses as the fallen... I would ask for more mounts but i can jus mod those lol
I don't see the bug 'damaged groups turn into a single guy when loading a save' or 'damaged groups can lose men when leveling up' in there. To me, those are pretty important bugs. (Edit: I should have refreshed the page to see the hundred replies before mine after reading this monster)
Suggestion/Feature Request: Please show us how far a unit can go in one turn (green/yellow icon maybe), and when i click a destination, show how many turns it will take for them to walk there.
Not just uniqueness to the factions, but more personality overall. Listening to Leonard Nimoy in Civ4 never got old. Fallout and Baldur's Gate populated their fantasy worlds with wonderfully entertaining characters. Borderlands, despite being a bit derivative, oozed personality from its intro movie and never let up. Gal Civ/Gal Civ2 had great humor (even in the repetitive diplomacy screens). Sins just felt cool.
More than UI enhancements and bug fixes, it's a game's personality that has always kept me coming back for more. Elemental has a decent engine, and things happen. But it's just dry. There's no humor, no quirks - no real personality.
Is multiplayer still due for this week?
Nope, in fullscreen. In window mode there is no such problem. Also in fullscreen it only happens if the taskbar is positioned either at the left or top. No problems with taskbar positioned at the right or bottom. And with taskbar set to auto-hide it could be positioned at any side without causing any problems.
For a random game is there a way to select the campaign map. Being able to select the Elemental world map as the default would be great. Still have everything else randomized, but the basic land structures.
There is no mention of the:
NPC KINGDOM FACTIONS HAVING ACCESS TO DEATH MAGIC IN CUSTOM GAMES!!!
i made a thread but it's been driven several pages down so it may not have been seen. Basically (and in my case specifically Gilden) i have noticed almost consistently that when playing a custom game Gilden has Vigilant Minions within a few turns, this is Death magic and they are supposed to use life??? i have tested if it works for the player by choosing him as my sov but sure enough he was limited to Life magic so something is very wrong here.
Good work!!!
MP Specific spellbook
So by fix you mean you are removing tactical spells from MP?
I disagree with the concept that 2 rings/1 ammy is lame.
I suggested in IRC that this should be a moddable stat, even if it's not used in the base game. Mods will use it.
Maybe even allow it to be racially set.
One other suggestion from IRC today- polearms. they were very common.
Make them a branch of the warfare tree, generally +def -combat speed + attack. Warhammers should get moved to polearms also.
great list! all major complaints listed. Now get ready for the minor things!
