Okay so after my "Armors that shouldn't be there" minimod I decided that there are not enough weapons in the game. Since I haven't found any way to put my own 3D models into the game yet I thought that at least it was time for some dual wielding to make things at least a little bit more uber.
So here it is. My dual wield mod.
What it does?
It adds several (currently 7) weapons to the game that can be equiped instead of a shield. With stats for defence AND attack and some minor drawbacks (afterall it's not THAT easy to fight with two weapons without chopping your own legs off).
All weapons need the proper weapon tech researched, are divided into kingdom and empire and are NOT available in sovereign creation (come on that WOULD be boring). However they should work just fine in the unit designer once they become available and shops offer em too...for a price.
So here you go (unpack into your ".../Documents/My Games/Elemental/Items/" folder)

May I ask how you did this?
Was it a matter of changing the looks and stats on shields to match that of a weapon?

Seriously though this and the armor mod are both awesome.
That was actually rather easy. The game offers different attachement points for...well...stuff. Taking equipment like swords and adding it to such an attachment point can be done really quickly. The problem is, that you can not make somebody actually have two REAL weapons at the same time...okay you can make that but you would be able to wear a shield over said weapon, that would screw up balance...a lot...honestly. So basicly yeah those weapons use the left hand point and are defined as shields but have additional attack values assigned to them.
