I've looked through the forum and didn't find anyone else having this problem.
After I killed all the creatures that threathen Capitar for the purple King at the fort, I continue to go north over Krandir's Pass. I find Footprints two times and finally I find monsters and meet Ventris. He tells me to return to Krandir (wherever that is). And from this point on, nothing happens anymore.
I can go to the obsidian wall where it tells me that i can't pass it. If i continue north from Ventris, a message pops up:
"Tracking the Survivor:
Looking around, Relias realizes he has been following a false trail for some time now. He turns back to seek the survivors' tracks once more."
Great... I already found survivors?!!? So why this message... And i explored everything now, but no survivors anywhere (except Ventris).
And further north from Ventris there seems to be a way out (mountains to the north, obsidian wall to the west, mountains to the south, and krandir's pass south east and mountains to the east), but my army simply can't go there.....
Would be great if someone could help me, since everyone else has finished the campaign without any problems.
Did you get the book for the old man, in the burned down settlement? He translates it, then you have to split forces, and you'll get a ship that enables you to go past the wall.
im having the same problem overkillbunny had
and i cant think of any burned down settlement like you suggested GalahadtheElder
im kinda stuck, any further information would be appreciated...
First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH
This burned down village is not shown on the zoomed out map, but zoomed in you can find it right after Krandir's Pass!
It's located right after the pass and long before these "footsteps", nomaam8383.
finally i can bring this campaign to an end
Hey great, glad I could help
gahhh
im still not able to find it,
if you go in a straight line towards krandirs pass, lets say its northwise
do you continue north through the mountains and should cross this villiage ?
all i see in between the mountains is dirt and some trees, no unordinery object (while zoomed in)
could you please be even more specific please
this is the closest thing to a burned village but it wont prompt me with any quest/dialog window..
thats the same place im at but
it didnt pop a dialog, apparently
the correct order (which i didnt follow) is
go to first footsteps go to second footsteps and than go to the village.
thanks all,
It's still not working for me
I had gone to the first footprint, second footprint, the pop up message saying I'm on the wrong trail, cleared everything all the way to the obsidian wall, came back, no dialogue on the settlement. went to first footprint, second footprint, settlement, still nothing.
Then I loaded up a previous save, went through the pass again, to the settlement (nothing), first footprint, second footprint, wrong trail dialogue, back to settlement, still nothing...
There's a cave with some baddies guarding it just north of the second footprints on a mountainside. Once you clear them out you'll get the mission to go back to the village.
Directly north of the 2nd set of footprints is a cave with 3 enemies standing outside. Once you defeat them the old man tells you of a book. Go back towards the fort. On the north side of the tiny pass heading to the fort is the burnt down village (slight glow in one of buildings). This is same spot where Janusk started crying. You'll receive the book, then go back to the cave where you fought the enemies.
I hope that makes sense. =p
I'm in the same predicament. I'm tracking the survivor, but if I go too far west, it says I'm on the wrong track. I found a water shard in the west. If I go past that, I get some message about a dark legion and finding a ship?! I take it I really shouldn't be seeing that message yet.
I see there are a lot of people here talking about a book and the old man, when you get to Krandir. I never got any such message, but I have to tell you, that in my campaign, the old man is dead (he died in battle several hundred turns ago). Does that mean I have to restore to before he died? (I truly hope not)
CheersGraham
Thank god for this thread: I wandered around aimlessly for like an hour after triggering the messages in the wrong order. For me, the issue was this: you're instructed to go back to the cave, but clicking on the cave does nothing: you can't move there. You have to move your sovereign to the space that's just *southwest* of the cave (i.e. right next to the cave) in order to trigger the message. Who knew? I figured there was some other cave someplace that was clickable, like other notable locations.
Terribly frustrating, terrible quest.
Grakul/Graham,
Can you see a couple of units standing near a black spot? That's a cave, and that's where the survivor fled. Attack it an'd win and he'll come out, then do what he says.
The cave is northwest and in the mountains from the first tracks that you can see on the screenshot above.
i was stuck here too. thanks to this thread I was able to find the burnt down krandir that doesn't show on cloth map.
thanks to this thread I was able to find Krandir too
remarkable places not showing on the cloth map are still there today quite frustratingly, these places sparkle on the map but are not visible on the cloth map, however some remarkable places keep sparkling after the mission has been done (in skirmish mode)
Stuck on the same quest but unable to move back the way I came. Each time I try to click back to the area of the burned out village it will not create a destination or move there.
Even worse I have a scout that I sent up for reinforcement and the game blocks merging the two groups. The scout can see and attack the area needed but there is an invisible wall preventing the main character from going there or joining up with the scout.
How to fix this?
