If its always online I am out. If not I am sold
Heroes has always had a bit of a cheesy feel to it, remembering the dragons from the first Heroes I wasn't sure if they were to demolish my enemy or a plush toy for children.

In terms of gameplay, I think 3 was my favorite. The first had the best AI though which was kind of fun, and the second had the worst AI. 4 was completely awful in almost every way, and 5 was a solid return to the series.
Funny that someone mentioned that it looked like a Kings Bounty Mod, that's completely true now that I hear that. Of course if you know the history of the 2 games, that would also be completely apropriate in some ways.....
3 was my favorite too and was awesome coop as well and mulitplayer in general too.
We have the first trailer posted here.
It does sound interesting. I confess to never having played any of the originals (prior to Elemental, I never was a big fan of fantasy gaming), but this one seems like it could be a lot of fun. It also appears to be a PC-exclusive title, which is always a plus.
Well they killed that pretty quick.
I have played all games from I to V and they are mostly great Since RUSE from UBI will be Steamworks and not the always online thingie, there is a little hope yet. UBI says that most of their games will be always online, but there is yet a little hope.
Remember Starforce? Heroes V was supposed to come with that horrible thing. It got ditched pretty close to release.
If HoMM VI finally uses GOO/Impulse::Reactor, I'll gift some digital copies for some users here* just to celebrate.

I'll get burned on a stake for this probably, but I didn't know Might and Magic was different from Heroes of M&M, guess I'll need to look for the diffrences

Yeah, 3 was the best!
Yep, let's hope that it will be much better than part 4. or 5. If it will be as good as part 3...I will be a happy gamer.
Well,Heroes 5 was more or less copy of the Heroes 3 + 3d graphics, but still you dont like it ?
Heroes 4 was much more innovative and i really liked that. Not the most interesting game to play vs AI,but its really good against human opponent.
I agree that 4 got a bit of a raw deal. It just changed too much with the heroes on the battle field as a unit, and of course the AI had some difficulties, though the campaigns were fun enough for me.
It was different, some good some bad, but not really close enough to the spirit of the other HoMM titles and I think that's what worked most against it.
5 was great though. 3 was ok for me, but I felt they incorporated alot of time savers into 5 to make the game play more smoothly (less need for hero trains for one thing), and the tac battles were definitely more fun.
Well we'll see how 6 plays out, doubtful I'll be in on day one in any case, but I'll remain hopeful that they won't screw up too much (DRM non withstanding there)
Well, that is my subjective opinion. HoMM3 + expansions > HoMM5. HoMM5 > HoMM4 of course...
Heroes 4 definitely changed the most things, and I was really excited about all the changes when it was getting close to being released. In practice though I thought most of the changes turned out to be pretty awful. Maybe like you said it was better multiplayer. But Heroes has always had a huge single player fan base (including me) and any version of it that's not fun in single player is doomed to fail.
5 on release was a buggy pos that didn't work and ran terribly. Several features they advertised were also not in the game, and some that were in it did not work properly.
Sure, which is why it's not a bad idea to simply not buy games on day0.
Of course I waited a little longer on 5, until the expansions were out in fact, so I could just get the bundle. I suppose it helps that I've quashed the 'I NEED IT RIGHT @#$#ING NOW' gene apparently.
Last game I let that gene run rampant was GalCiv2, and meh, I wasn't totally disappointed, but in hindsight do wish I had waited. Hell I'm not even getting Elemental until after some time has passed and I feel like the game will be 'ready' for me to enjoy, rather than ready for me to 'enjoy' waiting for the patches...
I never bothered with the HoMM series before now, except the demo for no. 5, which I didn't care for. However, i am presently playing King's Bounty, which has been fun so far. Could someone briefly tell me the major differences between KB and HoMM5? The trailer for HoMM6 doesn't really tell much about the game.
P.S. I had high hopes for Disciples 3. However, nearly every review I've read has been negative. Sigh.
Personally, I'm hoping for a quick, horrible death. Like removing an old bandage, it'd be best to just get it over with that much sooner.
From the combination of it being a PC-exclusive title plus Ubisoft's DRM? (I just want to make sure we're on the same page and that I'm not assuming anything.)
I was referring to the link. YouTube took it down. Well they did last night. Hah, guess the Ubisoft police are not on the same page as the marketing team.
Ah, I see. What exactly was said/shown in the video? Just the teaser trailer again?
His link works now so you can see it. Yeah it's just the teaser trailer. I have no idea why they pulled it for copyright issues and then put it up again.
