If you want to buy your games on sale, here is a tip for you. Have a look at Blue's News "On Sale" topics once in a while. It looks like this thread. It usually runs at least once a week and it includes sales from most online distribution platforms.
This is what I've been doing for a while. I managed to get most of the game I wanted for sale. I gave this tip to one of my friend recently. I was quite amazed that he did not know. I guess there are still some people for whom it can profit. Make sure you do not get addicted to those sales and buy games simply because they are on sale .
Have fun.
Cheapassgamer is another good place to go to, probably a bit better than this site though i doubt any site has all the sales listed at any given time. slickdeals and fatwallet are other more general sights that can include video game deals, especially from places like best buy.
Thanks. I did not know about those sites. I've just tried cheapassgamer and it was down . I'll have a look later.
Yeah his server goes down now and then. If i remember right the sight wants you to sign up to view all the forums constantly. I was reluctant at first, but been on there around 2 years now and never had any issues, plus I get signed up for some nice contests now and then. Oh by the way, thank you. i forgot to say that. I love having a lot of choices to find sales and hate paying full retail for my games.!
As far as pc game sales go, having steam and impulse installed do the trick. I check the steam store every wed and every weekend. As long as you don't HAVE to have the latest game immediately, you can wait it out and usually find a great deal on steam. As in... I think they run a huge sale yearly and decent sales every few weekends. Suffice to say, I've bought many $50 games from them at half price or lower. On impulse, you generally don't find good deals as often, but they are getting better with their sales here and there. Each year impulse runs a survey and at the end of the survey, you get a coupon code for like 20% off anything in their catalog... which includes brand new games. Steam doesn't do anything like that, so that's the 1 up for impulse.
As far as console games, cheapassgamers is king. Check out slickdeals.net as well. Slick deals is great for deals on pretty much anything period, so I check in there every few days or so.
20% off for EVERYTHING in their catalog, infinite reuse AND works for pre-orders. I preordered both Elemental and Dragon Age 20% off :3
I did the exact same thing, hedgie - DA + Elemental at 20% off = win.
Do you know if that survey is still available? I love surveys (those that can get me cheaper stuff).
don't think so. They are typically yearly. I usually just hit up google and search for stardock survey. I think the last one was in Sept or so, so if they are doing it again, I bet it will be out before too long.
