So it's me...the guy that didn’t buy Starcraft 2 yet, Hiya.Just wondered if any of the chumps, er I mean nice people, who bought Starcraft already could enlighten me on DRM and such. I was just wondering...1 - Do you have to be online even to play the single player?2 - Do you have a limited number of activations?3 - Do you have to have the cd in the drive?4 - ANY (officialish) idea when the next expansion(s) are going to come out? I know this one is a "when it's done" but I am just looking for a general time (this year, one every six months, etc)
"User map settings" aren't just maps, they're things that have scripting on and rewrite the rules of the game. DotA is a "user map settings" Warcraft 3 map, and that is so good it created a genre. Demigod, Heroes of Newearth, and League of Legends all owe their start to the Warcraft 3 map editor (hell, LoL actually advertises as being from DotA's original author).
Tower Defense also really took off in Warcraft 3 as a large series of custom maps.
So yeah... I guess a couple of genre creating maps are just "eye candy", right?
Can't wait for the sex mods....
Zerg Queen in the nude? And that Protoss Archon, oooooh la la!
Um, no, just no. The games that can be made using UMS are extremely varied. Trust me, I like Dwarf Fortress, eye candy doesn't do shit for me.
