I have a Lenovo Ultra-portable x60s Thinkpad with Windows XP SP3.
I recently had a spyware attack: the AV Security Suite malware, and I got MBAM and Avira to get rid of it, but after it was completely gone, I still had a problem with my computer.
I cannot upload any kind of file to any kind of file sharing or hosting site.
I also get random redirects when using google to search for things.
I tried a computer search two days ago, but found nothing.
Tech forums have not been very helpful, so if anyone could assist me, I would be grateful.

I am using Firefox, and I try to use chrome and IE but with the same effects. I reinstalled Firefox also to see if it would fix it, but it didn't.
Yeah, something has raped your IE. I suggesting try reinstalling it.
What happens when you try to launch IE?
That would be all.
It doesn't connect to the internet at all.
No response.
If I mess with it, it crashes.
Ah anyway, only thing I can think of in order to fix IE, is reinstalling it.
Even if the virus that messed up IE is gone, then the program would still remain broken, right?
Another tool to use is SUPERAntiSpyware (free version). It finds alot.. Also IObits Advanced SytemCare (free edition)is good for registry cleanups and does spyware also but the registry cleaner is the best part of it.
Also use the windows install cleanup tool(its free to download on the microsoft website) after uninstalling IE and before reinstalling
try using CCleaner to clean up the registry errors along with running spyware and antivirus on safemode, if that doesnt do it reformat and save yourself the trouble.
