Testing out the map generation.
interesting to hear that terrain detail can be turned up, and you could adjust the level of units needed b4 things become tactical battle.
But i also wanted to see both in action. THURSDAY???
Tactical battles won't be in Beta 2.
I'm not sure if anybody asked this, but is there a way to cut back on the micromanagement? Having to fiddle with one or two cities is cool, but having to fiddle with 20 each turn is no fun, especially since you may forget building or training an important item in a specific city, which is very annoying.
Is there an auto-build feature, or perhaps an auto-build/governor like in Sid Meier Alpha Centauri, for example, where you could give the city a building profile such as: exploring/conquest/economy etc? It might really help dealing with large amount of cities.
I just love the vids of this game. Enough said! Will be awsome to try out the beta on thursday (i hope)... On the other hand FIFA World Cup is starting the same day!.. But the good game, England vs. USA is on saturday...
How the hell did i manage to mix soccer with Elemental.. Will there be any soccer turnaments in Elemental??
Oh man, for years now I've had these vague memories of a game I played as a kid on the Apple ][, but I could never remember the name nor find any information about it. As soon as you posted that screenshot of Odyssey, I recognized it immediately.
Thank you for solving a mystery that's been nagging me for a good portion of my adult life!
If you look at the video, you will see an empire tree on the left of the screen indicating whichcities are building improvement/armies and which cities are idle. And you can queue the construction of buildings and the recruiting of armies.
Tactical battles usually have an undo button. All the way up until you actually attack with a unit. For instance, Fire Emblem and Advanced wars have this, where if you accidentally move wrong you can re-do your move ... but running into the enemy cancels this option.
Point is, on a game with tiles, its nice to be able to "redo" movement spaces ... the only exception being during Simul Turns battles.
Yeah, you typically can undo moves up to the point where you actually attack, cast a spell, or some other object is enabled (like traps on a tile or something like that when you move). I don't recall reading anything specifically from the dev team if they have undo in there.
I know this is off topic but we can set traps in Elemental? Wow if so I love this game even more! They have thought of everything to complement light rpg and still be a powerful strategy game with fresh ideas.
